We had booked in advance although there were tables to spare. All in about 16 covers. Ordered a pork burger each. We were served after another couple who came in after us. Asked to change the water carafe which took too long to replace. Also asked for Vinegar, Mayo and Mustard. Brand new ‘unopened’ bottle of vinegar arrived, but had to wait far too long for Mayo etc and when it eventually arrived, it was four packets in a bowl, no mustard. Asked again and it arrived eventually. Waitress did not know the contents of the meal, had to ask the chef and came back with incomplete info. I KNOW times are difficult but to charge what they do, it is deserving of better service. Needless to say we did not eat anything further.

We stayed here on our NC500 road trip, and would definitely recommend it! Lovely hotel, the rooms are lovely, extremely comfortable beds and I had a fantastic massive bathroom with a great shower. The staff were all lovely especially Lorraine and David on reception who were very helpful- right down to spot on about how long it takes to walk to Varrich castle (well worth the hours walk before breakfast!). We ate in the restaurant in the evening, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend a visit.

A lovely small hotel in a small village on the North Coast 500 touring route of the north of Scotland. Fantastic view of the estury. Very friendly staff, excellent food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Highly recommend staying here if you're visiting the area.

Excellent food at a decent price, first rate service, good ambience. We booked as non-residents about 3 weeks beforehand. The restaurant was quite spacious obeying Covid rules. Overall an excellent experience and thoroughly to be recommended.

“ Look darling this hotel has a sign that’s says food served all day, non-residents welcome”. So we stopped at 2pm for food, drink and use of the toilet. “ Hello can we get a sandwich and a drink please”. “ No we are not open until 4pm” “ Oh ok, can we use your tolled please”. “ No it is being chemically cleaned”. Chemically?? Anyway, we visited a small cafe two miles up the road and it was very welcoming. How this place survives is beyond me with staff like that in charge.
