We had a wonderful holiday at Guillemot Lodge. The Lodge was incredibly well equipped and spotlessly clean and tidy with lots of thoughtful touches. The towels and linen were gleaming white, crockery beautiful - local Highland Stoneware and the shortbread and Nespresso a treat. The view from the huge lounge window of the private bay and out to sea is stunning. It is so peaceful. I swam here and in other bays while exploring. The location is perfect for exploring Assynt. We climbed Suilven and Stac Pollaidh and walked to Sandwood Bay and The Point of Stoer. Plenty of gorgeous more local short walks described in the helpful folder in the Lodge. Visit the wee shops in Lochinver; Spar has essentials and the photography shop lovely prints and other art work and beautiful pottery from Highland Stoneware. Highly recommended, so beautiful and remote, a true holiday.

We decided to head to this area of Scotland for the first time ever as a result of the pandemic. My son had stayed in a cottage owned by the same folk and recommended we consider the area. The owners were fabulous, very receptive to questions and patient whilst we tried to understand travel restrictions. We ended up booking Merganzer Lodge for ten nights, late October. The lodges are great, very clean with everything you need for a self catering holiday (most indoor eating closed in the village). The washing machine leaked on our second day, no problem, a new one was fitted immediately. Great service. The views are amazing, I wish to return in spring/summer.

No matter what time of year this is a lovely location. Have stayed in house and lodges and both have been great. It is very peaceful and views across bay are lovely. This time seal lying on the rocks outside the lodge. Previous seen deer on the hillside and spotted an otter in the water beside the island and Various birds. The Covid measures in place were excellent, a lot of hard work for the owner to achieve. Other places would not put that effort in. 5 stars. Will be back again.Thanks.

We have been to the idyllic Strathan Bay and stayed in one of the lodges for 6 years running. the lodges are meticulously clean and very well equipped. The latest addition is a Nesspresso coffee maker which we thoroughly enjoyed The lodges have wonderful views of Strathan Bay' complete with its own island! The wild life comes to you, over the years we have seen deer, eagle over the headland' greylag geese and goslings' eider ducks, and a pine martin. Karen and Andrew are wonderful hosts and offer a warm welcome. The surrounding area is stunningly beautiful and there is a photo opportunity round every corner all be it not in the passing places! The village offers choice independent shops, two grocery stores and a number of restaurants and food outlets as well as other food and shopping in Ullapool and independent crofters around th ecountryside. We would not stay anywhere else when visiting Lochinver each year. 5* all the way!
