We are very pleased with Morpheas Apts. The apartments and studios are of top quality at an excellent location with very competitive prices and an efficient private parking area. You can get information and booking directly from their own website. Morpheas Apts is located at an ideal spot of Plakias, close to both the beach and the center of the village. The road between the apartment and the sea is the main entrance of Plakias but it is unexpectedly very quiet at all times. Last but not least, you have to deal with owners of a quite professional attitude.

What a wonderful holiday, nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. Olga is such a friendly and helpful host, offering advice when asked and sorting out a small problem with the plumbing with no difficulties at all. The accommodation is cleaned daily and was spotless, it felt like we were staying in a hotel suite! The air conditioning and washing machine in the two bedroom apartment was so helpful and the kitchen is well equipped. The apartment is conveniently above a supermarket and there is ample parking. The sea is literally the other side of the road and there are plenty of other beaches close. The apartment is well situated near a range of tavernas, restaurants and cafes, although there are enough facilities that you could easily cater for yourself too. We have had such a wonderful holiday, thank you!

Stayed at the Morpheas Apartments late June 2023. It was the second time I'd stayed there and it was as good as ever. We had a double room with balcony looking directly on to the sea.
The room was a good size and more than adequate for 2 adult males for a whole week. The beds and pillows were comfortable and gave a good sleep (as you would expect wit a name of Morpheas) and the bathroom a good size. Oh, and the air conditioner worked very well.
The whole place has a very 'laid back' feeling but that didn't compromise the professional standards, cleaning and care.
I highly recommend Morpheas Apartments in Plakias.

I can only echo the other comments here, lovely apartments kept spotlessly clean right in the heart of Plakias, it's amazing they offer a sea view at these prices. Very comfortable bed with good mattress and topper, good shower, fridge / kettle / Greek coffee maker, powerful AC and that balcony looking straight out onto the sea - amazing.

Olga, her husband and all their staff are lovely and full of good tips. They also own the supermarket below which must be the most well stocked in the area, it has everything you need for your stay and to bring back. There's a great little coffee shop next to that for your morning coffee and pastry. Restaurants all around you (try Sirocco and Gio Ma).

Perfect!

Studio 101 was perfect for us, clean and tidy, well-equipped, comfortable beds, beautiful sea view from the balcony. First bathroom (out of 3 in Crete) where the shower did not flood the floor!! We enjoyed very much our stay in this unspoiled spot on the south coast with very nice beaches and lots of possibilities for excursions. Olga, her family and staff were all extremely kind and helpful, thank you very much.
Best regards
Morten and Susanne from Denmark

This is a fantastic small family run place that is really great for couples or families.

The rooms at the front all have amazing views of the sea and harbour. All rooms are quiet, well appointed and comfortable. There is a small kitchenette if you wish to do any cooking. Maid service is daily – they change the towels even if you don’t want them too -- LOL

There are also a number of larger apartments to the rear with views of the mountains

Located only 15 meters (45 feet) from the sea and 200 meters from the harbour it is an ideal place to chill out and enjoy your holiday.

The owners are very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Room rates are very good and it is worth discussing the rates with them.

Their website is not the best and the photos are poor and do not do justice.

When we read reviews we often wonder what the expectations of the authors are. So, to help you…we are frequent travellers and have been all over the world and stayed in some of the best hotels – our standards and expectations are high. We expect to get what we pay for.

We stayed at the morpheas apartments in june 2006 in a family size apartment. This had a mezzanene floor where a child can sleep, which absolutely pleased our boy The apartments are spotless and though we didn't have a direct sea views, our terrace was big ,with side views of the sea and beautiful views of the gorge behind Plakias. Sheets and towels changed daily. We found these apartments by chance and were delighted with the comfort . Manolis and his family are very pleasant and run the supermarket next door, we found their manner very gentle and friendly and would highly recommend these apartments

We travelled to Crete to celebrate our tenth anniversary with our seven year old boys, as well as lots of friends and family. Olga welcomed us with wine and fruit in honour of the occasion and we spent a glorious 11 nights in Plakias. The room service is excellent and everything is kept spotless. The washing machine was a huge boon when travelling with kids and needing to wash beach towels. The south coast of Crete is glorious, with beautiful beaches and incredible landscapes. The tavernas in Plakias serve superb fresh seafood, but you can also eat in the apartments (or on the balcony), as there is a huge fridge and full cooking facilities. We had a wonderful time and will soon make plans to return.

We stayed for only 6 nights during a 3 week tour of central Crete but will return for a longer stay next time. Our apartment was so well appointed it had everything we needed and more.

We had visited Plakias twice before just for the day from Chania and couldn't work out why we liked it so much - our photos showed a rather scruffy beach and not very beautiful buildings but there was an atmosphere about it we loved. The famous Plakias wind blew strongly for the whole 6 days this trip, but we found it only invigorating and loved the place even more.

This year we had time to explore the surrounding area and discovered many little beaches and coves to swim in, each with its own character, beautiful mountains, history, interesting monasteries and people who made time to speak to you, even at the end of a busy season. Cities like Chania, beautiful as they are, seemed a little harsh and rushed by comparison.

The owner Manolis made us feel welcome and was very patient answering our questions. Our apartment was spacious, quiet and cleaned by a young lady who was both thorough and sensitive to our needs. We could see the mountains from our balcony and a little strip of the beach but the studios at the front have the ultimate seaview and facing south, are a great place to top up tans.

And all this at a reasonable price.

Have stayed here in 2005 and June 2007. Mrs Olga keeps a very clean establishment.
We were fortunate to get a room at the front with fantastic views over the sea, however the power lines are a little distracting at first.
Rooms have twin beds, common throughout Crete, a small kitchenette, we only made our own breakfast every morning and very clean bathroom. There is also satellite TV however most in Greek except for the odd movie in English. The rooms are serviced every day, and the place is that clean you could eat of the floor.
If you are driving there is a car park at the side, very handy as Plakias gets busy, especially on Sundays when the locals come to swim, eat and drink coffee.
The added bonus of Morpheas is that one of the supermarkets is right underneath, very handy for a cold beer!
Would gladly recommend Morpheas, its not the cheapest in Plakias but it is clean, comfortable and very well located.

Have you a seaview studio available in August 2016, for two weeks..?
Answer from Morpheasapartment
Dear Mr Billy M. We are pleased to inform you that there is availability of a sea view studio for next August. For further details about our room types you can visit our web site. Thank you in advance. Olga Koumentaki. Morpheas-apartments-Plakias-Crete
Answer from Morpheasapartment
For 2 adults with a teenager son I would recommend a two bedroom apt. Our two bedroom apts are on the side of the building so they have a part sea and a mountain view. From June 20th and then there is a full sea view studio plus available. It can accommodate up to 3 persons. Thank you.
