I have written a review previously but I feel have to update my review following shabby treatment on our last visit. My husband booked the same suite we had used previously as it is spacious, has self-catering facilities, a spa bath and comfortable seating for relaxation. On arrival we were shown to a smaller room with only a bed and two small dining chairs. The suite had been given to another couple who were staying for two nights with a dog - obviously more revenue. Although the room is also beautifully decorated, we had booked and paid for the suite. There was nowhere to sit and relax. It had not been cleaned properly as there were packets of condoms and an earbud in the bedside table. My husband phoned to complain about the change and the owner said he had tried to contact him but that is obviously not true as, in the era of cellphones, one is aware of missed calls and messages. He also later stated that he had e-mailed my husband, which is not true. I can handle someone changing your booking at the last minute, if politely done. I can't bear lying and deceit.

We had a comfortable one night stay at this B&B. It is a restful oasis in lively Linden. The interior decor is stunning, including beautiful artworks, and the gardens are very pretty. I was a bit curious about breakfast, as it is served in the room, but it was piping hot and delicious.

We enjoyed our stay and will book again. the Farmhouse was perfectly located for our visit and the accommodation was comfortable, the breakfasts excellent and the ambiance lovely. The garden is beautiful and I was sorry it was too cold to use the sparkling pool.

I need a place a B & B place near where I could meet our business partners for meeting avoid the traffic hassle in Johannesburg. The place is beautiful with very good gardens and fairly good rooms. The only problem was the service, though the staff was friendly, the service was poor and gave me a thousand reasons why the could not provide certain services like catering.

We planned this party well in advance and booked out the whole guesthouse. We were told that we couldn’t bring our own drinks so we had to estimate ourselves what drinks our 50+ guests would be having and then pay for this upfront at the restaurant price so that they could buy them in advance. I was suspicious as the drinks are always the first thing to disappear. They said they’d keep the empties and we could take away the full bottles that we paid for. (Turns out they actually just got the drinks on consignment and returned unused bottles, so we could’ve just put down a deposit.) On the day, the guy running the event had a few “helpers” who started tucking in to my drinks even before the guests arrived. The power tripped in the middle of the party - not load shedding but an unmaintained electrical system fault. I see this has happened before judging by other posts. An electrician spent about two hours trying to sort that out. The lamb on the spit had to be carved in the dark and there was general (thankfully good natured) chaos amongst the guests and organisers. By this stage the main helper was out of it - I have no idea who she was. The other helper started mingling with the guests as if he was the host, all the while helping himself freely to food and drinks as well. By the end of the evening, together with the very good guest house manager (not the event organizer), we took photographs of leftover and empty bottles. The drunk helper had been loading full bottles in my son’s car as well, telling him to help himself as his dad was paying for everything. We counted these as well. The drinks were stored out of reach in her own quarters. At the end we under consumed the drinks by an amount of at least R2,300, based on detailed bottle counts. I have been asking either for a refund or that the bottles be returned to me for over six months. The owner ignores mails and feigns illness - yet is still well enough to be running the guest house. The lack of maintenance of the venue, the very dodgy hired help and the dishonesty soured a great event. Please beware of this place.
