I booked 7 of our staff members for a week as they were on a course. The place was dirty, cockroaches, no ventilation in rooms, no one to help with the complaints or interested in fixing the problems.

I do not recommend this B&B and would rather drive further to the course venue than book into this place again.

The Kings Lodge has a 4 star rating that it really does not does not deserve. At our arrival two female employees were having a long conversation in an African language, totally ignoring my wife and myself. The room looked fair with a King size bed, but it smelled damp. The bathroom is the worst, it's very old and needs a total revamp, it's smell damp and the windows cannot open. The shower, washbasin and bath dates from the early 1960's, not nice. There is an extractor fan, but it does not work. Only 1 toilet roll and only two towels (brown ycghh!!!)
There is no air-conditioning but there is a ceiling fan that works with a remote control that fall in pieces as soon as you touch it. The pillows on the bed is hard and not of a good quality. Even the mattress on the king size bed is uncomfortable and not of good quality. I have been in conversation with a number of staff members, not any of them were friendly or tried to make you feel welcome. It seems as if they don't care. When in the bathroom you gear the load voices of staff members. The rates are very low at R350 per person, but please do not expect a 4 star facility - if I had to give it a rating, it would be closer to 2 star. Rather go past this one and look for something better.

A quint place, hospitable and very friendly staff. Could do with more garden lighting, especially when one has to walk from the South wing (Indaba room) to reception. I was housed in the Indaba roo, very spacious with individual parking!1 Just upgrade the electronics; that TV was not clear at all; and bathroom lighting needs attention. Overall the stay was pleasant.

Rooms does not comply with the requirements set by the tourism board for a 4 star grading, the room I stayed in had a faulty sliding door and could not properly lock. Linen was dirty and not changed, no air conditioning, broken ceiling fan. Rather stay at the Town lodge or other guest houses in the area.
