Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Located approx. 30-45 mins from JNB airport, apposite Ferndale Mall.
Room is definately VERY small, ok for a stay as single, for couples it would probably challenge your marriage :-). Aircon, tv with limited channels on the table, why not put it on the wall, strong wifi, coffee/tea, safe in the bottom of the cupboard. Bed was comfy. Finally a hotel who offers smoking rooms, however its in need of a scrub and the chair should be removed, its dirty and it would make some space. No water provided !?
Bathroom is also very small, soap dispensers, good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Cleaning and towels provided every day.
Breakfast served from 6:30 (7am in weekends) good selection, fresh and tasty. Premises well kept and clean.
I found staff to be very friendly and helpful, and my stay was comfortable. I am still waiting for my invoice the check out lady promised me.

Comfy rooms. Well located for my use. Great, safe parking - very important for me. Rooms need a bit of attention - door safety lock was broken. Armchair in room was dirty. With a bit of attention this could be a GREAT place.

The Mercure Randburg is officially our new place to stay when in joburg! The Facilities are nice and clean even the deco,colours are minimalistic. Security is perfect! The hotel is right next to the Malls, you can literally just leave your car and walk to the mall for shopping! They have a small garden area, great for relaxing time out of your room. Most of all customer service is top notch! A big thank you to Mr Thabo & Mr Lesedi, Mr Thato! They just went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and were very patient, as I had very specific needs for my room! and they helped us with other information we needed about the area!

This is my second stay at this Hotel and they have not faulted. It was a very comfortable stay. Their In Room delivery service is the most convenient way to order Food from an array of restaurants and it will be delivery to your room - especially after a long hard day at work. Breakfast is prompt and have good choice for any traveler.

The Mercure Hotel in Randburg is our go-to hotel in Johannesburg. Excellent customer service and comfortable rooms. It's also conveniently located at the new Ferndale on Republic shopping center, where there are great shopping and dining options.

Located 40 minutes from OR Tambo International Airport. During our stay, the elevators were out of order so you have to haul your stuff up and down the stairs. Rooms are grotty and need a total renovation. Air con makes strange annoying ticking sound all the time. This was a one time stay.

i have stayed at the mercure inn randburg at least one week per year since it opened. if i'm correct, the hotel is about 5 years old.
being only 5 years old, the rooms and en-suites are clean and up to standard, and carpets are not muffy like new york hotels.
each year i spend hours on the internet wanting to book at a different hotel. believe me, i've done all the searching for you, .... you just cannot beat the total package, especially compared to their rates.
it is walking distance from the randburg waterfront (now called something else), a good place for restaurants, but i won't shop there, though safe etc. you are near to sandton (+- 8km's), mandela square etc.
if your'e unsure where to stay for a place OF SIMILAR VALUE, go for this one!

Only when there is no other option, go to this hotel. Decent location, close to Bright Water Commons Mall, but typical of Mercure Hotels....
- premium rates, not inclusive of breakfast. - terrible aircon noise: I stayed in 3 different rooms. - 100MB free wifi per gadget per day, ie up to midnight.
I had the very unfortunate service: - front desk staff of a lady Moloto, Roger and Royce was totally indifferent to any guest. It was as if we were bothering them. - on checking in, I was given a card key to a room which was occupied by some couple, and unfortunately I opend and found them... - Downstairs I went, and had to extract an apology from Moloto. Got another room: and the key refused to open. - back to the front desk; they said they sorted it and upstairs i went. Again, key not working. - down again, and had to be booked into another room. Royce went to open the door with me, and again it refused. He had to use some tricks to open it and said that is how all card keys work there. Hence, we spent the stay without key.
The only positive thing about this Mercure joint is the front desk guy Lesedi.

Good place to stay away from the crowd, no restaurants for lunch and dinner, however close to a shopping mall where varieties of restaurants / coffe shops are available, internet is not free, hotel arranges taxi, commuting to other parts of the city is expensive, good and helpful staff

Good day, we can arrange you a shuttle from the airport at R550.00 per way, otherwise we have the Gautrain - which you can take to Sandton and get the Randburg bus - we are at the last stop however the bus service does not run on weekends. You can also use Uber. The trip can take about 30 min but depends on traffic.
There are more places to choose from in the Randburg area.
