Exceptionally peaceful stay! Amazing staff and superb two-course breakfast. The Wifi was great and loadshedding didn't disrupt meetings or workflow. The photos of the most beautifully manicured garden are 100% real. It's the most exquisite garden. Quiet street.

Burkleigh House is the perfect location for a small wedding of up to 60 guests.
The facilities offered are exceptional. The honeymoon suite (included in the package) is huge and is beautifully furnished. The suite was made available on the day for the bride and bridesmaids to prepare as well as a bedroom for the groom and groomsmen to get ready.
The gardens are immaculate and provide the perfect setting for photographs. The setup for the wedding ceremony and the reception were done beautifully and all pf the couples special requests were willingly accommodated.
The food was exceptional with many compliments passed. Being able to accommodate everything, including parking for the guests, at one venue is a major benefit.
What truly sets the venue aside is the staff. They all played a major part in ensuring that everything went according to plan. I cannot thank them enough for the extra effort that they all put in.
I highly recommend Burkleigh House to any person/s looking to host a function at this idyllic venue.

I co-ordinated a good friends Wedding at Burkleigh house this past weekend.
The food that Victoria and her team produced was fresh, exceptionally tasty and presented beautifully.
Patricia was hands on throughout the planning as well as on the day and one can see what a remakable difference it makes to attention to detail when the owner herself is so present.
Estelle assisted us with the set up and was so lovely, she is helpful and kind and an asset to the establishment.
The waiters that were used were professional and helpful, and one guest even commented on how nice the waiters smelled :)
The Bridal Suite at Burkleigh House has got to be one of the most luxurious and beautiful in Jhb and the gardens, oh wow the gardens - I could spend hours getting lost in the many spaces that feel just like a fairytale.
There is absolutely nothing that I can fault the venue on. Thank you Patricia, Victoria, Estelle, Dave and the rest of the team for ensuring that Roddy and Odette had the most whimsical evening at your establishment. I hope to bring more clients to you in the future as I know you will go above and beyond in ensuring that the event is nothing short of perfect.

What a secret gem Burkleigh House is. Hidden away in busy Randburg, lies a secret garden of peace and tranquillity. My 22 brunch guests were blown away by the venue, the outstanding food, organisation and service. Management is hands-on and present at all times. Waiters and Barmen attentive but not intrusive. I recommend this exclusive boutique hotel and venue to all who want to enjoy superb quality service.

On the 8 January 2022, we chose to use Burkleigh House as our wedding venue. We chose only to have our ceremony there but wow what an experience. The venue itself is beautiful, with clean crisp gardens filled with flowers that make your heart melt. The service we received was outstanding with everyone of our needs met. The staff at Burkleigh go above and beyond to put you at ease and to ensure your day runs smoothly. I would 100% recommend Burkleigh House to anyone having a wedding, bridal shower or baby shower. This venue is an absolute hidden gem right in Ferndale. This is the perfect place for intermittent gatherings. It is peaceful, beautiful and literally a slice of heaven.

This Bed and Breakfast is so conveniently accessible in a lovely suburb of Johannesburg, providing easy access for guests as well as excellent accomodation and facilities. The Room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was great, and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. I would love to stay here again in future.

We could not have chosen a better venue for our special day! This is the perfect venue for an intimate wedding. Not only is the venue absolutely magnificent but the people are truly a pleasure to deal with. They are accomodating in every possible way. The service in the lead up to the wedding was great... both Patricia and Victoria are the nicest people and so professional to deal with. We hired out all the rooms for our guests to stay over and our guests absolutely loved their accomodation. The rooms are absolutely beautiful, luxurious, so comfortable and cosy and very clean. We shared a lovely breakfast the next morning with some of our guests as well. Victoria is the chef and manager of the venue and I could not say a bad word about her... her service was amazing and her menu and food was incredible..nothing was too much for her no matter what i asked!! Our guests all raved about the food. We had a wedding of 80 people which was quite a big number for the venue and each and every meal was cooked perfectly and they handled the pressure like champions. The bridal room is a show stopper... and the snacks and service on the day I could not fault, the staff are so friendly and helpful. The team and venue is best described as classy and professional in every way! Thank you Patricia, Victoria and the Burkleigh House team for incredible service and excellence, our wedding day was truly perfect!

My husband and I had our wedding at Burkleigh House on the 25th of June 2023 and although there may have been a few hiccups on the day, as with all weddings, neither us nor any of the guests would have ever known! Victoria, Patricia and their team made sure that our day was perfect from start to finish. This venue is perfect for small intimate garden weddings, the food and rooms are great and the staff put all their energy and passion into everything they do! Burkleigh House is a hidden gem in Johannesburg and I would recommend having your wedding here if you want your wedding to have that unique English country garden feel, the garden is beautiful all year round! When staying here, be sure to take a look at the Victorian church bell that the owners have which overlooks the main garden, made by Warners, the company that made the Big Ben clock! A small note: since the venue is in a residential area there are sound restrictions so the party has to end by 12am, although this was an initial concern of ours we were secretly grateful as it turns out weddings are exhausting and by around 10pm all you can think about is crawling into bed for a well-deserved sleep!

I've never experienced such tranquility. The honeymoon Suite was filled with elegance, my husband and I enjoyed it, the breakfast was delicious and the staff was amazing, I loved how intimate it is. The owner checking in the next morning was such a wonderful surprise. The service was beyond excellent.

This is really a gem in Johannesburg. I highly recommend the place. As soon as you enter you have the idea that you are not in a city anymore. The place is quiet, extremely clean and neat. Beautiful garden, large rooms, great large extra length beds and proper pillows, good working spacious high shower, splendid breakfast, possibilities to not be without power, proper wifi, and most of all out of the ordinarry service with the main house keeper being very attentive, helpful and good in communication. A very high-end and positive experience.
