Nestled in the quiet tree-lined suburb of Parkwood in Johannesburg, The Ashford is a fresh and sparkling addition to the bed and breakfast market. At first glimpse of The Ashford, guests are greeted by a classic, expansive patio which wraps itself generously around the entire house, creating a cool and breezy space away from the harsh Highveld sun. Central to the reception area is a beautiful atrium which spreads light throughout the guest house, all day long. The architecture, as a whole, speaks of luxury without being ostentatious, is practical and efficient without being cluttered, and offers a warm, friendly and tasteful space. The Ashford has five double rooms with bathrooms en-suite, and includes all the facilities necessary to ensure a comfortable and convenient stay. All rooms have doors which open up onto the shaded patio, and all have DSTV and tea and coffee facilities. An English breakfast is served every morning and the rich aroma of freshly ground coffee in the dining area is seldom absent. For the Worlkaholics we offer free wireless throughout. A 24-hour security patrol is in place, and parking is secure. The guest house, like The Ashford team, has a wonderful, sunny disposition about it, and we look forward to welcoming visitors from far-flung places, as well as domestic travellers who happen to find themselves in Johannesburg – whether for business or pleasure.

Detailed Reviews
My husband and me, we traveled to ZA for the first time. Our first stop was at The Ashford guesthouse.
That was actually a perfect choice! :-)
I really loved their fittings and furnishings on the whole property. Everything was so lovely!
We stayed there for 4 nights.
The staff has been unbelievable great, too!
As we are booth vegans, it was difficult to find the right accommodation.
But the guesthouse staff is open minded to create a vegan breakfast every morning.
It was delicious!
The situation of the guesthouse is good, as you have the chance to walk to the Rosebank Mall close by.
There, you can find lots of shops and restaurants.
All in all, we definitely recommend this place!
As we won’t make it to the Kruger NP this time, we definitely have to come back and we’ll book this guesthouse again! :-)
Thanks for everything!

Just spent Valentines night at the Ashford Guesthouse and what a treat it was!! We were spoiled with a bottle of wine, chocolates and a rose - it made the night extra special. The room was big and had all the amenities you will require. The Ashford is beautifully decorated, welcoming with the first step into the guest house. The Ashford is a home away from home, the staff are friendly and the breakfast was hearty and delicious. It is conveniently located close to Rosebank mall and restaurants. Highly recommended for a night, a week and even longer

We have stayed at The Ashford on numerous occasions, as a couple and with our teenage children. It is truly the most comfortable and" close to home" accommodation you will find with professional and very precise attention to detail.
Zanele,Thabisile ,Steven and their team will endeavor to make your stay as close to perfect as possible.
The rooms have every everything you require, hairdryer ,barfridge, tea/coffee station, excellent linen and towels and they all lead onto a beautiful veranda where one
can read or work.
There is also a separate TV lounge to unwind and relax, which my husband regularly uses .
The breakfasts are excellent and they also have a small, warm and inviting bar that one can unwind at the end of the day and have a drink.
Their tea and coffee station in the dining room is always ready for self service and the choc chip cookies are delicious.
The personal and professional service and accommodation offered at The Ashford is beyond compare.
At R1150 for a single and R1650 for a double this is excellent value for what you receive at the Ashford.
We would not stay anywhere else.

If ever you need somewhere to stay in Jo'berg I suggest you check if the Ashford has any room.
It is simply wonderful. I travel to Johannesburg a lot for business and initially I stayed in the usual business hotels. Great for boosting "points" but souless, dull and unispring.
I have now been coming to the Ashford for over 4 years since and it goes from strength to strength.
The reasons you should stay here;
1. The Staff, who will always greet you with a smile and make you feel welcome.
2. The service. Your clothes will be unpacked, ironed and immaculately folded and put away. Even five star hotels wont do that for you.
3. The rooms, Clean, tidy, free wifi, 28inch LCD TV with satelite tv/sports channels, Lovely bathrooms, full size fridge. Has a luxury feel to the furnishings and environment.
In short, I can't praise The Ashford highly enough

Right from the start, the greeting is so friendly, its a home away from home when on business. Megan/Zanele & Tabs are incredible hostesses. The rooms are comfortable and have everything you need. Beds are VERY comfortable, she bakes the most delicious choc chip biscuits too. The breakfast is great and its just a wonderful place to come back to. To add to this bonus is that Megan runs a Travel Agency from the building so its very handy if you are in need, she's super efficient in helping out. I look forward to more visits with them all.

Prepare to be spoiled at the Ashford … Attentive, welcoming staff, well appointed, spacious rooms with all mod-cons. Delightful environs with a tranquil garden and a great feeling of security. Breakfast is a treat and made to order by the smiling staff. Could not fault the service or comfort of my stay at the Ashford, which is close to the Gautrain and the fabulous shopping precinct of Rosebank. Hope to be back sometime soon!

We have stayed at the Ashford Guest House for up to 4 weeks over 2016 and 2017 and would give it a 5 star excellent rating. Beautifully decorated and spotless, the ladies who saw to the daily running of the house are warm and welcoming, and met all our needs effortlessly, whether it be breakfast (they make a delicious English breakfast) or assistance with a taxi, mobile sim card or in house laundry service.
It is centrally situated with plenty to see on foot or by car whether it be a mall, art gallery or restaurant, we loved our sunny winter morning walks through the leafy suburb.
We love staying at the Ashford and would not hesitate to recommend it.
