Sierra Square Hotel is a good 3-star option in Ferndale, Randburg (Johannesburg). The rooms are basic but well appointed and the hotel has all that you need for a short-stay. I had seen some earlier reviews that noise can be a factor, however this did not affect me during my stay. All staff were warm, friendly and helpful.

Unfriendly welcome from one of the receptionists which created a negative impression of the hotel. I felt offended by the receptionist's lack of professionalism or soft skills. Overall the stay was satisfactory.

Not bad for the price you pay, the breakfast if great with lots of choices. Can't say the same about the dinner buffet it's good but more like canteen food. My room didn't have still water when I arrived so I had to boil tap water and wait for it to cool down. No CURTAINS at all, just blinds so you can't enjoy the morning sunlight which was disappointing if you like natural light. This establishment offers free Wi-Fi at the RECEPTION area which is always packed with people, can you at least get a Wi-Fi extender so that we can work from our rooms or watch Netflix in our own comfort.

Regrettably our complete WIFI system was knocked out on Saturday the 23rd of November along with most of our IT system during a large electric thunderstorm. We have set up a temporary WIFI Net work in our reception area to offer a temporary solution to our guests as we are in the process off installing a new network and large user access points are not over the counter items, when you have to procure in excess of 50 units. We apologize that our WIFI network is not 100% what it should be, and your concerns raised will be passed through toe the respective department heads. Thank you for your review. I am looking for accommodation that makes me feel like home, this room did not do that for me, Top sheet did not fit bed which we eventually removed and have no idea why they install it when it out of place. Also a bar fridge to keep water cold would have helped like the B&B's. There is nothing special here except I would recommend the breakfast.

The place is good, clean,easily located and friendly staff. Improvement needed in terms putting bar fridges in the rooms for keeping beverages and refreshment fresh and cool, and small carpet in the room next to bed since well it is tiles.

Sierra Hotels offers an economical brand hotel to our guests, and in order to keep our rates down and competitive for our guests we do not offer in room mini bar fridges. This service would entail that we would need to up or rates to cover all the costs associated with having in room mini bar fridges, and this is also a four star grading requirement.
