We stayed in the Forest Lodge and it was the perfect spot for a group getaway. Very spacious house in a beautiful leafy green setting. Natalie was also very helpful and responsive. Would definitely recommend.

Arbour Gardens is a beautiful secluded venue that offers its guests privacy in a stunning setting. The houses are versatile and can accommodate large groups of friends or families. Despite the terrible weather it was wonderful to be Inside and make use of the puzzles and games provided by the hosts. Definitely worth a visit!

Arbour Gardens is really a hidden gem. The service was professional, they assisted whenever we enquired about something and the staff was friendly. The cottage we stayed in was neat, clean and had everything we needed. It was also decorated beautifully, taking the environment and the farm-style into consideration, and still being practical. What you see is what you get. Even though it was winter, the gardens was still very nice, and we enjoyed spending time in them, walking along the river. We would definitely recommend Arbour Gardens, whether you want a romantic getaway, or a family/friends weekend. It is a good place to get away from the city life, without having to drive too far, and to just relax and have a good time.

The service was not bad. Many thanks to the hospitality when we arrived. We liked the cottage however it was very cold & not what we expected. We got lost a bit & could not see the location signage. There was not much to see because of the season. The cottage needs to be fumigated before any visits, there were some spiders in the bedroom and in the bathroom.

Natalie was friendly and the prices seemed really good. Now I know why. The host didn't know which room I'd booked. Once this confusion was sorted out (took a day) I had a room booked (even though it wasn't the one pictured when I did the reservation) and was ready to go. I was informed that there were no card or EFT facilities, so I'd have to bring cash. I was also informed that a bad road to the lodge meant that a tough car was necessary.

Once I had planned all of this and was ready to go, the host phoned me the day before and told me that she'd made a mistake, and that there was no space available and I'd have to go elsewhere. All the places in the area were booked and no alternative was offered.

There are lots of great places in the area, rather look around.

Wow, stayed at this elegant and beautiful this past weekend in the Forest Lodge. A real gem of a place. Well designed and massive place. The modern decor nestled in a forest setting. Well kept property with lots of activities to do, under an hours drive from Joburg

My family booked the River Villa at Arbour Gardens as a Mother's Day (Weekend Retreat) after a rough start to our year. Before we arrived at Arbour Gardens, I was exhausted and in desperate need of some R&R.

Arbour Gardens was 'Chicken Soup for my Soul" The beautiful natural gardens, the sound of the river and birds and the beauty of the environment had be relaxing instantly. The River Villa is beautifully rustic and very comfortable. The fireplace in the lounge and the one in the kitchen kept the cold winter night chill at bay.

And what a paradise for our kids. Our daughters enjoyed the freedom of exploring and going on adventures conjured up in their imaginations. Its so sad that back home in JHB they are couped up and aren't able to run free and just be a kid. The farm was large enough for them to do this. I only saw them when they were hungry and when we went to explore other parts of the Magaliesberg area.

We will definitely be back.

If you need to recharge your "batteries" then this is the place to go and do it. It's just a short drive from Johannesburg but you feel that you've left the city far behind. The accommodation was lovely, a home away from home. Beautiful gardens are open for you to enjoy or just laze at the pool. A full kitchen to prepare your meals at the end of the day. The hosts are lovely and the dogs are just a bonus. We even had Charlie the Scottie dog keep us company all weekend.

Beautiful surroundings even in the coldest week this winter, and the welcome was warm! Natalie and Stephen were very hospitable in offering us extra heaters, lots of firewood, blankets and access to alternative hot water when one of the pipes froze up - yes, it was THAT cold!

At last I have found my perfect getaway! Our stay at the Forest Lodge was one I am going to repeat! As the name describes, this beautiful house is nestled among a natural forest. Everything has been thought of here, all of the highest quality - the huge fluffy bath towels and crisp white linen, stunning decor, beautiful gardens to wander, Owner Natalie very friendly, and of course have to mention Charlie the Scottish terrier who loved to visit!
