We really enjoyed our stay tremendously. Except for the lawnmower noise on two consecutive days (we realize that this must be done), it was very tranquil and quiet. The privacy and the feeling of having your own little piece of land in the countryside away from everything and everyone was AWESOME!!! The cottage has everything one would need. The cottage was neat and well stocked. The walks with our dogs and the relaxing in the lounge reading brought much needed rest for my soul. I would DEFINITELY go back. I would recommend, though, that the walking trails on the farm be cleaned up from human waste such as bottles, plastic and dangerous wires. A good trimming along the route will also enhance the walking experience. But overall it was the perfect choice for a end-of-year break-away. Lastly ... a visit to the little shop is a MUST! The local produce and goods are on high standard and they make wonderful gifts!

Such a great little place. Our stay a the Writers Cottage was quiet and peaceful, the bed was comfy and the linen was really nice, we honestly didn't want for anything. It's close enough from JHB for the drive back not to be a chore, and far enough away that it felt like you were somewhere completely different. It's a fantastic getaway spot for a relaxing long weekend.
