What a lovely relaxing weekend on top of a mountain surrounded by trees, birds and butterflies. Bowl of fresh water ready for your furry friends. Well equipped unit with more that expected small thoughts.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at Saamrus. The service of the staff was friendly and efficient. And we had the place to ourselves. It was peaceful with gorgeous walks around the farm. Our little one and our four-legged friends enjoyed themselves immensely. We will be back.

We chose this place because it was dog friendly. Our two boys had a blast. There are several walks to choose from. Gentle river strolls to more strenuous hill walks. We liked the proximity to Johannesburg so we could stay over on the Sunday night and still be home by Monday lunchtime. The acommodation was good. The fire place heated the room up quickly. The only issue was the geyser was only big enough to fill a very little bit of the bath with hot water. We had a wonderful time thanks to the team at Saamrus.

Thank you for a wonderful stay! We enjoyed every second. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and they offer wood and honey for purchase. OH AND the shower! Amazing! The fireplace was romantic and perfect for a winter evening. Annatjie was super helpful and responsive. The staff is friendly and helped with everything we needed. The area is gorgeous with wonderful hikes.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Saamrus in Hoep Hoep cottage! It is an absolute haven for people travelling with pets. Our lab and beagle were in doggy heaven. The accommodation is clean and very well equipped with everything you need. Even bubble bath! The fireplace and electric blankets were a saving grace on colder evenings. Each unit is fenced off which results in peace of mind for pet moms and dads! There is ample space for the dogs to walk off-leash. The only thing I could ask of them to improve on is the markings on their hiking trails. Overall it was well marked but we got terribly lost on the Hill Circle route as there were no clear indications where to go from the village to the river. We tried 3 times to find the right path; the dogs got anxious and we had to turn back all the way we came. But overall, a wonderful weekend and we will definitely be back!…

The Generator and the chicken farm is the only thing that could be improved by making it silent. The cottages on top of the ridge are all beautifully set, and the fence enclosures around each one make take your dogs a real treat. Excellent retreat. Beautiful setting. Perfect for a short or long weekend. Thank you

We were a family of 6 with 2 dogs (Labs), we found the cottage to be very big and more than adequate for our family. We loved the big raised patio and enjoyed the evenings around the fire. Very reasonably priced to accommodate that many people and it had all the necessary items to make a comfortable stay.

What a Lovely dog friendly outing in nature. Clean and cozy cottage with everything you need. Stunning views. Loved the walks on the farm with our two Boston Terries and relaxing with a glass of wine around the fire. Will definitely visit again soon.
