I had such a lovely time at Nullarbor cottages, I was looking for a secluded cabin to recharge, and Nullarbor delivered.

I stayed at number 8 Mali and the cottage was well equipped, the bath was such a treat especially with some bubble bath and candles, and the bed... King sized and comfy.

Definitely the most private of the cottages, I loved the views from both the front and back patios, very relaxing to watch the sunset with a cup of tea or wine. My dog loved running around in the fenced off garden, she did get a bit of the fright when the resident dogs greeted her, so we tended to stay in our garden. Apart from sheep in the neighbouring farm, we felt completely alone - precisely what I wanted. As a female traveller on my own, I felt completely safe and comfortable.

I see a few reviews complaining about the road, I have an i10, and my car was fine. Yes, it did take a while to drive to the property, but that's the joys of being on holiday, you can relax and take things easy and soak in the sights.

I really loved my time here; I would definitely come back. My only complaint is the bath towels. The ones provided are those tiny towels that barely wrap around a two-year-old, never mind an adult. So, if they could provide snuggly bath sheets, the bathtime experience would be so much nicer.

The place was beautiful, clean, and well kept. Nice and secluded among bushes n trees.
The staff and owner are very friendly. Jenny super host as I arrived late in the evening, and she tracked my drive via WhatsApp location to ensure I was safe and arrived at my destination.
Had a good night’s rest and was very impressed, did not experience any problems.
Loved my stay and it is so peaceful there. Lovely view over the mountains.
I look forward to another stay, will definitely book again with a group of friends to enjoy.
P.s 1 night is not enough😏

“Perfect destination for a couple’s retreat, friendly staff, calm environment, waking up to absolute tranquillity, can hear bird’s sings. The view from our room was gorgeous, enjoyed magnificent sunrise and sunsets from the room. Pet Friendly, Perfect view, spacious rooms, you can smell the freshness of the open air. They have 3 lovely swimming pools.I requested a romantic set up and the owner went out of her way to set up as I requested. They welcomed our dogs with the perfect cottage that has its own yard.”

I would just like to inform you of the experience we had at Nullarbar Cottages from 16-20 June 2024.

We really had the worst experience ever at Nullarbor Cottages. It was the first time we went away in 10 years and it was our Honeymoon. These are the issues we faced, we stayed in 6 - Nebulous Sky Cottage:

1) The whole cottage is sloped to the one side, as you walk in the door it feels like you are going to fall out again.

2) As per their website there were no Shower gel and shampoo/conditioner provided to us.

3) On the first night we had no hot water, a plumber was only sent out the next day. We were told that we can move to a different cottage but only after all the other guests has moved out the following day and after the cottages have been cleaned. We decided not no move as this was a huge inconvenience for us as we have already packed out all our belongings for the week.

4) The toilet cistern was not filling with water, after we investigated we found that the ball of the cistern was damaged and we had to manually pick it up every time we used the toilet.

5) As per the pictures attached, the glass on the coffee table is cracked as well as the mirror in the bedroom.

6) The corner bath in the unit is so small that only one person can fit in it.

7) Because the cottage is so sloped if you cook food on the stove the pan or pot slides down to back plate.

8) They have an openview decoder in the unit, you can still sit and watch TV and then all of a sudden it just says no signal. It happened repeatedly and we had to ask one of the persons who worked there to come and change the decoder. As the owner was in Cape Town.

Needless to say we came home a day early as I could not deal with this anymore. To date we have not received and correspondence from the owner about why we booked out early. She did not even contact us upon booking in to find out if everything is in order.

The Photos and videos that they have of the cottage are completely outdated, this is definitely not how everything looks now.

This was really the worst experience in my life. I would not advise anyone to go here.

Regards,
Patricia Hoffmann

The cottage was clean and acceptable except for various Maintenance problems which was glaringly obvious. The toilet Bowl was loose. The wash basin tap in bedroom for hot water was loose. The Lights in the lounge and the veranda lights was not working. the curtains in the bedroom had water staining. The tap for hot water in the kitchen was sticking washer problems.

I give this place a 1 star rating as there is no option for a zero. The owner was a no show, we didn't know where to go, where to find anything, where the walking trails were, where to buy fire wood from etc. We tried calling the host the entire time, but her phone was off ! Everything inside the unit was old. No hot running water to wash dishes. Couches and bedding were so old and holes in the sheets and pillows. There were dirty old broken couches outside next to the "conference room" that looked more like a dirty old store room. Security was an issue - we didn't feel safe at all as the workers have access to the entire place at any given time day or night. We left a day early as it was uncomfortable being there.

My stay at the Semi-Luxury Cottage was a delightful blend of comfort and natural beauty. The cottage offers stunning views of the mountains and gardens, with a cozy lounge, a comfortable queen-size bed, and a unique handcrafted basin adding to its charm. The well-equipped kitchen and spacious corner bath provided all the necessary comforts. The outdoor area, featuring a thatch Lapa and a private, natural rock shower, was the highlight, offering a serene experience under the stars. Highly recommended for a tranquil and rejuvenating retreat.

It was a much needed weekend for us to relax and reboot and it felt like we were on holiday for a week when we left on Sunday! It was the first time we took our fur kids with us and we and they enjoyed the fresh air, walks on the farm and quite surroundings very much! Jenny were very helpful when we needed assistance with the gas and it was a real pleasure meeting her. I would suggest that the towels maybe get replaced, but in the times we live in, I rather use my own towels anyway. The cottage was clean and very well equipped! Thank you Jenny! You will see us again! Chris, Marlene, Nola and Smeagal :-)

We had a much-needed rest at this secluded place. Loved the fact that the place was quiet and there were no disturbances in sight. When you go outside the place there are a lot of activities that one can do like spas and restaurants. Not a lot of shops so do bring along all that you need so you dont need to go shopping.

Beautiful location, views are superb. The cottage has everything you need. My dog enjoyed the garden, it was a big space for him and it has a fence so he is secure. We could walk around in the off lead area that we explored everyday.
