We booked Watercolours for a family birthday and filled all the rooms. It was so beautifully done both inside and out. All the rooms were generous sizes with en suites, fridges and kettles, plus outdoor space.

The breakfasts were incredible - a true feast! Sharon and Gary made us feel so welcome which was such a bonus.

The pool was also gorgeous, looking right out onto the sea yet it was very private.

We had a disabled guest with us who was perfectly able to stay here and move around as there are two bedrooms on the main floor (along with the dining, living and kitchen space).

Absolutely dreamy stay - don’t miss!

Beautiful. Lovely visit. Wonderful breakfast. Couldn’t ask for a better place.
The view is stunning and it’s a perfect location for both cape point and kales bay as well as Cape Town central. Penguin visit was awesome.

We stayed in the navy suite and the room was clean spacious and immaculate. Sharon greeted us and was extremely polite and very helpful. She rang restaurants and made reservations and even contacted a local taxi firm for us.
There’s a safe garage for the car - a swimming pool and our room had a small balcony overlooking the sea.
The breakfast was wonderful and it was so nice meeting the other guests and sit around the table.
Sharon helped with printing our boarding passes and gave advice about our journey back to the airport.
Their library was very useful especially the bird books and local guide books.
The Watercolours was a fabulous guest house and would certainly recommend it.
It did have steps up to the house but you could drive onto the drive to drop off suitcases etc.
It’s an ideal place to visit the Cape of Good Hope, Boulders Bay to see the Jackass penguins and if you’re a keen bird watcher - visit the sewerage works at Pelikan Park, Strandfontein off the M17. There were Flamingos, Pelicans - and it wasn’t too smelly when we went.
Thank you Sharon for a lovely stay.

A stunning guest house beautifully designed and decorated. We stayed in the Junior Suite overlooking the sea with a bath on the mezzanine above the bed...waking up to sunrise over the sea was very special. Sharon was soooo lovely, a true host and very helpful. And wow that pool...that view...probably the best place I've ever sunbathed! The guest house is a short drive out of town, only wished we stayed more than 1 night! Thank you Sharon!x

O' Where to begin with the compliments,... Sharon and Gary the charming and welcoming Owners of this beautiful and characterful Establishment, made our 4 nights in Simons Town at Watercolours House, just the most memorable and exquisite experience we could have dreamt of. Stunning location and views from The Navy Room...
Immaculate bedroom, bathroom, linen and facilities, with impeccable attention to detail by Sharon, The Amazing Hostess who presents the Best Continental Breakfast Ever..! We loved the infinity pool, lush gardens with fruit trees and the bbq area with views to the ocean. We look forward to our visit next year at the same time, to enjoy the splendidly gorgeous experience once again. We cannot recommend this special place highly enough, it's just ridiculously peaceful and picturesque..!

Are your rooms air conditioned?
Answer from Watercolours466
Western Cape, South Africa1 contribution1 helpful vote
Hi there Thank you for your enquiry. We have large fans in the rooms, as well as portable upright air conditioners, which we use as the need arises. Our rooms all face the sea and the sunrise - ie east, therefore are not exposed to the hot afternoon sunshine. Kind regards
