I treated myself to a weekend away in Simonstown. Barbara was so kind and thoughtful. She made me feel like I was her only guest. Stunning room with an amazing view. Breakfast was fantastic. I felt like I was visiting an old friend. I loved the fact that there was a private entrance so you could come and go as you pleased without disturbing anyone. I would definitely recommend Cannon house.

Cannon House is a real gem of a place and one of have now used a few times for business trips. Amazing view and balcony, separate kitchen (shared) facilities and everything else you would ever need in a B&B (en suite, hairdryer, hot water bottles, tea and coffee with FRESH MILK). Breakfasts are elegantly modest with a continental style breakfast with a view. Highly recommended. There are a lot of stairs to the rooms so not suitable for those in wheelchairs.

I had the pleasure of visiting Cannon House B&B with my family, husband and two grown up children, in September this year. The location is great. Our rooms, which were beautifully furnished, comfortable and homely, had amazing views over the bay and harbour. We even saw a submarine which made my husband’s day. Barbara our host could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was fresh, filling and very tasty. Nothing was too much trouble. I highly recommend a stay here if you are considering visiting the Penguins at Boulders Beach or Cape Point.

Khanye: The experience was lovely. The room was nicely decorated with antique furniture and the food was lovely. Mrs Barbara welcomed us like family and embraced us with open hands. It felt like a home away from home, only higher quality and no consitant reminder of the errands I forgot to run. I definitely wouldn't mind living with a person of such high hospitality and a warm, welcoming heart. Rainy: I was blessed to find a home away from home at a time when my soul and body needed rest. After a long year filled with a lot of tumultuous events on both a personal and professional level, being in Barbara's home gave me the rest I needed to go back to the rat race, refreshed and my energy renewed.

My friend and I were meeting in Cape Town as a convenient point between his gap year in the Zambian bush and my home in London. Cannon House fitted the requirement perfectly. The place is compact but perfectly formed, being comprised of only 3 guest rooms. Two have a (partially shared) balcony with the third having a patio alongside the house. The rooms also share a small kitchenette and are all ensure and benefit from a separate front door. The two balcony rooms which my friend and I had both have a glass wall at one end with a spectacular view of False Bay and Cape Town in the distance. The rooms are a good size and beds were large and comfortable and the decor stylish. Simons Town is on the Cape peninsula about 50kms south of Cape Town centre. This was no problem as we had a rental car, but others may find this a restriction. The location is handy for the Cape and southern suburbs. Breakfast each morning consisted of a choice of various different foods, and drinks and was always lovely. Barbara is happy to get specific things in if you ask. All in all, a perfect base for a wonderful week. Thank you very much.

We decided on a small mini weekend trip away with the kids in Simons Town and were fortunate enough to stumble across Cannon House. Perfect for our needs. We occupied the two rooms next door to each other. The kids in one room (twin beds) and us in the other, each with en-suite shower, basin and toilet. I enjoyed having tea/coffee facilities and a small kitchenette, consisting of fridge, microwave and crockery if we so required. Both rooms lead out onto had a small balcony/patio perfect for sitting and contemplating life while overlooking the bay. A wonderful breakfast the next morning was provided by Barbara, who aims to make her guests feel special. Thank you for the delightful stay, we hope to visit again soon.

We stayed at Cannon House for two weeks over December. The room was large and comfortable with an en-suite bathroom (shower, basin and toilet). There were coffee-making facilities in the room as well as a small television set. There was sufficient cupboard space in the room. Shower gel was provided as well as fresh towels every day. A hair dryer was available for use and there was a small safe inside the cupboard. The room was part of the main house with its own private entrance. One could make use of a small kitchen equipped with a bar fridge and crockery. We had a spectacular view over False Bay and woke up every morning to the sound of guinea fowl and the wind rustling through the trees. We mostly had breakfast on our balcony, while some mornings we enjoyed it upstairs on the veranda. Barbara makes a delicious fruit salad, and we were also spoilt with homemade marmalade/jams for our English muffins. Cannon House is high up against the mountain and close to popular hiking trails. It is also close to restaurants and beaches. We always felt private yet well taken care of. Barbara is very knowledgeable about Simons Town and surroundings. She gave us a number of useful tips on where to go and what to do. Truly a worthwhile stay!
