Lord Nelson Inn was one of the best hotels on our South Africa trip in December/January.

The service was brilliant and we felt heartly welcome.

Great room with balcony and a view on the bay.

The breakfast was delicious and the building has a lot if historic charme.

It is a great place to stay for visits at Cape of Good Hope and the penguin colony.

Thank you for hosting us!

Small hotel with restaurant in the center of a small historical town. The interior of the hotel refers to the old times, everything is clean and stylish. The staff is friendly, the beds are comfortable, but try to avoid sleeping in rooms with windows to the street, it can be very noisy.

We stayed in room 5 just nuisance. Everything was amazing, the staff take super good care of you. They are friendly and helpful. We went back with the kids a weekend later and stayed in room 1 lady emma hamilton. We stayed some hours extra no extra cost and booked in earlier the next weekend and will definitely stay longer sunday to enjoy the sunday braai again. The bar area, food, rooms everything is just great. If you visit simons town this hotel will be nr 1 on my list. I will go back there everytime im in simons town. If you visit here, dont forget to ask about the Ghost walk with Andre.

We were double booked and arrived on a Friday afternoon at 15h, only to find out we need to look for alternative accommodation. This was during a long weekend.

That part was not my problem as these type of mistakes do happen.

What bothers me is the fact that the lady at Lord Nelson Inn knew about the double booking since 11h00 that morning when she received a mail from booking.com, yet she did not inform us or queried the mail she received from Booking.com to find out what happened.

Furthermore, while we waited in their reception area we had a drink, and were charged for it. I felt she could have given that on the house.

Simon's Town, hopefully we see you again! Lord Nelson Inn, we will pass thanks!

Decent pub in the main street in Simon's Town. Pub was affected by the electricity shortages but the landlady found some candles for us! Reasonable pub bar with sports TVs. We went out to eat so the only food we had was a cooked breakfast which was good. plenty of interesting nautical memorabilia around the pub.

Really amazing! Steeped in history, great view and service. The rooms are very comfortable and each room is named after a ship. Nice pub to watch the sort at and close to eveyrything Simons Town has to offer.

This was our 2nd stay in this quaint hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed.

This time we were booked into a different room but it was just as comfortable as the previous one.

Service was great - staff friendly, efficient and professional

As Arnold says, We'll be back !!!

No attention for detail. Cables for tv is all over the place. Carpet got allot of burn marks. No information in room for example how to order meals, WiFi code. Roof fan is useless. Will not stay there again.

Response from Iman-13, Manager at Lord Nelson Inn
Responded 19 Aug 2013
Like most historical buildings in the area, for those that have ears to hear, there is sometimes things that go "bump" in the night. The Lord Nelson Inn has had its fair share of nightly visitations from the other side and decided to call in the "ghost busters". The hotel has now been quiet and tranquil for many months, but if a adrenalin kick is needed the most haunted building in the area is apparently the museum.

Been looking everywhere for good food FINALLY dropped in or a pint and a pizza well blow me over the BEST pizza i had in Capetown by far! Bacon, feta, figs. Swopped Mushroom for Avocado amazing!! Husband had the Fish and salad instead of chips and was Wow ' ed! Definately will be back again. Ps had a look at the room's look good clean and comfortable and awesome views! but most importantly the price is so reasonable comparative to what i am paying now above in the same area R1200 per night no breakfast and R20 per day for TV, wish I'd heard of the Lord Nelson Hotel before....
