This is an incredible, beautiful and intimate hotel. We immediately felt like being at home, be that the most stunning and luxurious home !!
The communal area is large, with lovely spots to relax at, inside and on the verandah. The whole area overlooks Boulder Bay and the famous Penquin Colony. We just did not want to go anywhere but just take in the beautiful views in luxury.
Stanford , our waiter could not have gone more out of his way to make our stay perfect. He just has the way of doing absolutely evrything for everybody without any hassle.
There is an honesty bar with various drinks to choose from, but you may also bring your own, as well as wine etc, which was very convenient, seeing that you have such a large choice of wines in the Cape.
On out last night, Jeantelle, the chef, cooked for the whole house on request and spoiled us with a major feast !! Thanks chef Jeantelle, your food is excellent. Not to mention the Eggs Benedict in the mornings.... cooked absolutely to perfection.
Now, the rooms !!! The biggest we have ever stayed in with a complete walk-in wardrobe, huge bathroom plus a passage leading to a just as huge shower, toilet and bidet. Underfloor heating, bath robes and excellent ammenities cmpleted the perfection.
Thanks to the ladies who cleaned our rooms without even being seen and also do all our laundry.
We cannot recommend Tintswalo Boulders to highly !!!!

We stayed at Tintswalo for only 2 nights and are pretty sad we didn’t book this breathtaking accommodation any longer. The location of this 5 star accommodation is not only the best for penguin lovers, as you can spot them from almost every room of the hotel, but also for any other travelers loving a home away from home. The staff and especially Stanford made our stay so special - they recognized every wish we could have had and wer super busy to match our needs. It only takes you like 2 walking minutes to the Penguin colony entrance of Boulders Beach walkways and around 5 minutes to the beach entrance where you can literally swim with these beautiful creatures. We highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast to anyone and will be coming back for sure! It’s more than worth the price!

The guest house is beautifully decorated and we received a very warm welcome.
Tastefully decorated room with nice little extras. Lots of wardrobe space but greatly reduced when all the cushions from the bed are put in! Bit strange, with all the space , that the bath tub is seperate from the shower and you have to come out of the jets in the shower to adjust the water temperature.
Breakfast is HUGE! I cannot imagine anyone being able to eat muesli and yoghurt, a platter of pastries , a cheese board and then a full cooked breakfast!! - too much guys.
The canapés were disappointing and very small - unlike the breakfast!!!
There is very little outside space at the guest house and no garden at all but it is close to the boardwalk and a short stroll to the beach. It was a great stay and the staff were marvelous but I did not give 5 stars because I did feel it was very overpriced .

Wow! This is the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. We felt taken care of from the moment we walked in the door, and the Mayflower Room had the largest most luxurious bathroom and wardrobe I’ve ever seen at a hotel. It’s in the perfect secluded location above Boulders Beach, and what a treat to eat breakfast while watching the penguins each morning! We visited for our honeymoon and the staff made us feel so special with champagne in the room, a romantic dinner, and a romantic turn-down with candles all over the room. We especially appreciated Dawi and Taffy who made us feel right at home. I will be dreaming of coming back!

Tintswalo Boulders is a lovely high end guest house, beautifully decorated, with exceptional views and easy access to beach and penguin colony. Service is mostly good and the property is in good condition. However, we were disappointed by the one dinner we had (we decided against having dinner there the next night..). Breakfast was not at the anticipated level either. These are small things that could have made our experience exceptional. But despite this, would certainly still recommend a stay here.

This was our first stay of our honeymoon trip and we could not have wished for a better start.

The people in this place are so nice and welcoming, we straight away felt like home and truly taken care of. The common area as well as the rooms are so beautifully decorated and if you have one of the rooms on the top floor with the big terrace, you are overseeing the penguins at the beach, which is such an amazing thing to wake up to (absolutely worth it!).

The food was so so good, and they have a super cool cook there, who is always in the best mood and would create you the most delicious meal you have ever eaten!

Also the location is quite cool, as you can easily go to Kalkbay, Cape of good hope and even more direction capetown, without losing too much time (we rented a car). In the morning we always went on the most beautiful runs along the coast.

All in all, it was an amazing stay and I can only recommend anyone going to capetown to stay some nights in this beautiful charming place!!!

I cannot enthuse enough about this hotel without sounding like the owner...I am not. I am on the other hand a satisfied and enthusiastic returning guest who adores this property. Besides for being in one of the most glorious parts of the Cape, its position is matched by its faultless decor and attention to detail. With its luxurious linens, finest of amenities, gourmet breakfasts and daily canapes it ticks all the boxes for a 5* establishment. But these things are never enough without a staff compliment to match. This is where Tintswalo Boulders goes to the next level. With a dynamic team headed by Tatum, each and every staff member goes out of their way to make one feel that this is your very own dream home. Without being intrusive, they are always there to make sure one's every need is met. This is one boutique hotel I will want to come back to again and again.

This was one of my highlights visiting South Africa. Not only was the property beautiful, but so were the people. The staff are extremely accommodating, approachable and pay attention to small details. I stayed in the water witch room which was spacious, comfortable and had the best view of boulders beach. Thank you all!

Tintswalo Boulders is such a special place, from the minute you arrive the attentive staff makes you feel welcome and right at home. The room was luxurious and lovely, facing the beautiful Boulders Beach with the waddling penguins a short distance away. The food was really good, and the Chef went out of his way to prepare decadent dinners and meals. Every meal time was an experience with the animated chef Dustin telling stories and the Somelier Steward was such a pleasure to be served the lovely Pinotage from the Western Cape and hear the story behind the wine. We had dinner at the villa every night and we were so impressed by the food, amazing staff that this villa is certainly top of my list. When Chef Dustin told us he is going to go the next day, wake up at the crack of dawn to go to the harbour and pick up the his selection of fresh catch of the night I was impressed, ‘from the Sea to the Table’ that is what stood out for my from my visit to Tintswalo Boulders.
We enjoyed the Penguin Beach and went for a stroll direct from the villa on the boardwalk and saw these adorable Jackass Penguins waddling around nesting in the bushes and shrubs in the vicinity. This villa is something so special and I can really recommend Tintswalo Boulders to anyone, our business trip was relaxing and to go to the villa at night after a busy day, was an exceptional experience.

A brilliant get away retreat. The Tintswalo team are so attentive, knowledgeable, professional and just lovely, we felt really special, so well looked after. Breakfast and evening meals were really good, and great value for the quality and often the chef consulted us on what we’d like to eat that night! True luxury. Thank you.
