The best thing about this hotel is the location, only a few minutes from the Harbour with lots of good restaurants. The staff are very helpful/friendly and any queries we had were sorted in a matter of minutes. Clean and spacious rooms.

For an overnight stay good value for money. Right opposite the marina so in the middle. Oldy worldy and facilities made us laugh...strange little spare loo microwave and ironing boards at top of stairs but we all slept well bed very comfortable..shower worked well and clean so for price great stop off.

We decided to stay 5 Nights here when visiting the Cape region. Bus for Metro send you to Cape Town Central station in approx 90 minutes. 15 minutes walk to Boulders Beach. A lot of restaurants within 2 min walk. Bottle shop (same owners) downstairs. Excellent English breakfast or Continental if you prefer. Very helpful staff. Good and strong wifi. Got a small room for late check out after check out time. Taxi to airport approx 500 rand (55 min). Taxi negotiable for Cape Point - you must also pay drivers entrance 145 Rand. We highly recommend this hotel - an old English gem in centre of the village.

This old hotel on the main street in Simon's Town is a treat. At first we were a little dubious about entering but when there was nothing else available we decided to give it a try and we were delighted that we did. The rooms are antique style but they are clean and comfortable, the bed was great, the bathroom large, there is free wifi and it was quiet at night. The proprietor was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. There are lots of restaurants, interesting boutique stores and a marina nearby to explore. Had a great time with our friends.

Excellent, central location, pretty safe with street parking. Right opposite the Navy base. The staff were welcoming and prepared to go the extra distance to make our visit comfortable by, for example, organising very early opening or the breakfast room and laundry and even cooking a large fish that we caught. Comfortable for an historic building if understandably basic.

As regular visitors to the Central Hotel we have always enjoyed the fine hospitality from all the staff. As a group we visit each Friday for the breakfast which is always top notch especially for the hungry. The Full English (R40) consists of 2 eggs to order, serious helping of bacon, savoury mince, pork banger served with onions, mushrooms and a grilled tomato. For the less hungry one can scale this feast down or go for the tasty combination omelettes. There is also a buffet of cereals and yogurts. The coffee is good and the friendly staff keep the refills arriving. The views from the balcony are also great as one can enjoy views of the harbour and ships sailing or berthing depending on the time of day. The breakfasts are served from 0700 until 1000 and are highly recommended.

Located centrally in Simonstown, but probably the worst place to stay. Furniture is broken. Appliances like the microwave (which was dirty and squeaky) and irons randomly placed in the passage like a halfhalfway house. The receptionist is not a people's person at all. I've stayed in other B&B's in Simonstown and had a lovely stay everytime, but the Central Hotel's standard leaves much to be desired. I would not recommend it to anyone
