I stayed one week with friends at William French Guest House to celebrate my birthday. Memorable experience ! William is an exceptional guest and chef ! So kind, and te food was so delicious :-) Accomodation is classy and chic. The pool and the see view is just amazing! Close to everything but very calm. Just a paradise...
Residence William French is a gem. The house is beautiful, quiet, elegant yet homey. The bedrooms have all the comfort needed, from the bathrooms to the big comfortable beds. From the terrace where William serves a cappuccino or a gin-tonic, the view on False Bay is incredible, changing every hour of the day. Breakfasts are out of this word. Bread, jam, everything is home made by William. And when William cooks for diner - a grilled fish for instance, with a mango sauce.... - a new level is reached. William makes you feel at home immediately. He attends to all needs while he stays very discreet. The house is 5 min walk to the pinguin beach and perfectly situated to explore the Cape of Good Hope peninsula, on car on hike. By far our best guesthouse experience in South Africa!
What a special place this is. If you sit on the comfortable chair by your room and you look out over the bay, you don't see a house. It seems you are alone in the world. You can see all the movements in the water from your lazy chair. You can't find a better place in False bay. You drive to the Cape of Good Hope in a few minutes and you can walk around there. In the other direction are nice small villages where you can taste the African atmosphere. The room is super luxurious, the house itself even more beautiful. A unique style that feels fantastic. The breakfast couldn't be better, but the best part is the well-stocked fridge where the best wines and nice cold drinks are waiting for you. You just grab it yourself and with it you can relax by the pool. I hesitated to write a review because I actually wanted to keep this magical place to myself. The owner is very nice and helpful, William makes you feel right at home.…
From our arrival until our departure,William hosted us with great personal attention. His exquisitely decorated home on the slopes of the Simon's Town mountain has an uninterrupted view of the False Bay coast. We had a large comfortable room next to the pool and in the morning we could sit out on the balcony and watch the sunrise with William's freshly brewed coffee. Best ever continental breakfast in taste and presentation. We were thrilled to be able to experience William's renowned culinery skills when he prepared a very tasty evening meal for us. We loved our first experience at William French Residence and cannot recommend it highly enough. Thanks for a great weekend William. We will definitely be back.
William is an incredible chef and my friend and I loved staying there. We will be back to stay every few months, especially for his delicious food. The view from the main suite is incredible too. I can highly recommend this place.
