This was our first family trip to the DR. The resort is absolutely beautiful . The beach is very clean and the pools are well-maintained with plenty of poolside bar service going on. We had our butler Marcelo who took care of us from the beginning to the end of our trip. Marcelo took care of all our needs from checking in with us every morning and evening, making reservations, printing out our Covid results for our return trip back and making sure there was chicken soup in our room for one of our children that fell ill one day. Marcelo is a genuine, knowledgeable , caring, individual who I highly recommend you ask for when you stay preferred. We also had Maria A. from room service making sure our room was clean everyday and making sure all our needs were met. Louis was our server from Seaside Grill who took care of us the first night and delivered exceptional service each time we ate there. The resort is amazing but the service was outstanding!!

Went to Dreams Royal as perfered members and Marcelo our butler was the best. He made sure everything that we wanted to do was taking care of by him personally. He made all our appts we just had to tell him what we wanted to do. Also it was our 8th wedding anniversary and he made that day special with the cabana during the day and diner on the beach at night. If you ever go to Dreams Royal ask for him. Also te staff there will remember you name by the second day.

First let me say I have traveled internationally to all inclusive’s a lot. I’ve been to excellence resorts, finest, couples, princess, etc. This was my first time at a dreams resort. My wife, 4 month old son, mom and sister all attended with me. The best way to sum this resort up for me is just “meh”. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t amazing either. The resort itself is pretty and the grounds are very well kept. The rooms are ok. Ours was clean but a bit worn. I almost broke a leg in my shower because the drain cover was just setting there and not secured in place. So when I stepped there it slid out from under me. The jacuzzi outside we didn’t even use because it would have took two hours to fill it up. The ocean was pretty nice. There was some sea weed but not to bad. There was a tractor with a rake on the beach every morning. The dreams staff need to do a better job of cleaning their part of the beach. Just a lot of “stuff” in the sand. Cigarette butts, band aids, etc. There seemed to be plenty of chairs on the beach. We never had a problem getting a chair anywhere on the resort. But we’re also early birds. The pools were good. Nothing bad at all to say about them. Plenty of chairs. If you want to be around the action and entertainment there’s places for that or if you just want to relax there’s places for that as well. Service…this is where it starts to get a little iffy. Some employees were super nice. Some were rude as hell. They do have waiters on the beach and around the pool. They do the best they can to keep up but it’s hard with so many people. I’d recommend getting more waiters. The waiters and servers in the restaurants were hot and cold. Again, some were really nice, some not at all. There were plenty of times where we would wait over 10 minutes for a drink. Even water! We attended Fusion on our last night. We did the hibachi table. Which is supposed to be a “show”. Our chef was a guy named “Wendy” I believe. He was HORRIBLE! Didn’t talk hardly at all. Dropped his knives and spatulas numerous times. Literally didn’t do anything that a normal hibachi chef would do. The table behind us had a chef that was very entertaining. This guy literally just cooked and that was it. We were so disappointed. But this is where I really got pissed. We’re nice people and we tip if it’s deserved. While this guy didn’t deserve much in my opinion we still tipped him $5. Handed it to him in ones and he took it and counted it right there in front of us and gave us a look like it wasn’t enough! My mother asked him why he didn’t put on a show like the other hibachi chef did and his response was “I don’t know”. The waiter who assisted our table with drinks, sushi, etc. was great. I wish I could remember his name. We tipped him $10 and Wendy just stood there like he expected more from us. So rude. I’d fire him real quick if it were up to me. I wanted to do something special for my wife so I booked a private dinner on the beach. Don’t do it. Not worth it. I supposedly got $200 resort credit when I booked my room. I asked if I could use it for the dinner and was told yes. But I still managed to pay $140 for it…I asked about the resort credit was told yes it was put towards my bill. HA! What a joke. Our dinner was at 7pm. We were the first ones there. There were probably 5 other tables sat up on the beach around us. It took at least 15 minutes to even have someone come ask what we wanted to drink while everyone else was already getting served. When someone did finally show up they told us what the four courses were that night. We were good with it. But when they brought the soup it was something totally different than what we were told it was going to be. Not a huge deal but come on. Attention to detail would be nice. Again, overall not the worst resort I’ve ever been to but I’ve definitely been to a lot more that were better. Would I go to another dreams resort? Honestly I doubt it.
