The room is Dark and No lights almost Anywhwre. ! Seriously…….. I used my phone to see into my suitcase. ! We went to the buffet and was Sooo disappointed. I’ve stayed in 6 resorts in Punta Cana in 2 years. This is the worst Food and worst service. And No one smiles from the restaurants to the Casino. Except the beach bar which was great. Mini bar was not stocked . Two towels for use . Old interiors even though online says renovation in 2017. Trying the restaurants was bad . No reservations in Japanese once we arrived. Mexican took 45 minutes, then appetizers and Entre all at once. Quality and Flavor made me just leave still hungry. In general….. 3 ☆ at best. And poor rating I’m Wvery category, and I’ve stayed at Occidental , El Faro, RIU Republica , Grand Bavaro , Melia , amd Dreams resorts. On a bad day …… Twice as good and I’m never using Majestic resorts nor recommend to anyone. With so many to choose from , I’m sorry I chose Colonial. Edgar on the animation team is the best! Wonderful resort, amazing food and service! This is our third time here and we would come back again for sure! The staff is very friendly and the entertainment is non stop!
We stayed for 10 nights at Majestic Colonial Punta Cana. We had a great time, the staff goes above and beyond to ensure you have a pleasant stay. We booked a room on the adults only Colonial Club part of the resort. By doing that you have acces to a private pool, private part of the beach, private reataurant and you are allocated a Butler who helps you with everything you might need. I have to mention our butler, Jacob, who was amazing and friendly, helping out with everything we needed. If you’re staying in the Colonial Club you can also request your butler a bottle of rum/whiskey etc (from a selection that you can find on their website). As honeymooners, we enjoyed our time here. They arranged the room for us with a nice Honeymooners sign on the door, they delivered breakfast in the room, we had a special dinner in the beach restaurant and got a bottle of sparkling wine. The beach restaurant is amazing and offers wonderful views. We mainly had breakfast and lunch here and dinner in the main restaurant. The food selection was varied and the food delicious. The beach in wonderful. The sand, the water, the palm trees, everything is amazing. It is worth waking up in the morning to enjoy the sunrise. Breathtaking views promised. Do not bother carrying with you towels, they provide plenty of them and are changed daily. I would recommend trying the parasailing, it is an awesome experience. If you want to do any trips, the Santo Domingo one and the Isla Saona one are the ones that we did and were very happy with our choice. Great service. Very friendly staff and always checking how you are. Lots of activities and games going on during the day poolside with the help of the entertainment team (especially black panther and sammy). Good selection of drinks and food from a range of bars across the resort. Would recommend.
The staff here are very friendly and are always ready to help and entertain, especially black panther. The resort itself has lots of facilities and activities so there is always something to do, such as darts, ping pong, water aerobics, etc which is very fun, the food is very high quality and there are several different restaurants and cuisine. very good place to stay
People are really nice . They do the best for you. All rooms are really old, they need to change A/C it’s on 64 but the room was still hot. The food it’s good but they need change it a little, it’s the same in diferente ways.
The majestic colonial resort is as amazing. I had so much fun there with dancing on the beach to swimming in the pool, and dancing at the plaza. The food was amazing and the workers there are just as amazing as they were the first time I came here. I can’t wait to come back in a couple years and have so much fun all over again. Samy is an amazing worker he was so energetic and so much fun to dance with! He Made my stay so much better.

First I’ll start with saying that we are currently still at the resort and we booked a 10 day stay at the Majestic Colonial punta cana. A little background from us is that we are origin from Dominican Republic and we have been to many resorts and know our country very well. We speak Spanish very well as well. We live in the USA. We are not picky and we understand certain situations. This review will be lengthy but very honest. It is our first time at the Majestic Punta cana. I’ll the good of this resort. It is pretty big and very nice and easy to find your way around. There is many many food options and every night has been different. The wifi is very good in this resort! The cleaning lady for our side is very nice and very pleasant to talk to. We are staying in room 22228. We booked through Expedia and we were treated like VIP when we checked in and i thought WOW we are going be very well treated here. AS WE THOUGHT…. The bad… ROOM- First I’ll say that the Majestic Colonial section has to be the lowest of the lowest class from all the room options in this resort. When we walked into our room it smelled moldy. I understand that we are in the tropics and is humid and we have a pool view. Our room is on the second floor and we have a very nice view. However the minute we walked into our room for the first time it smelled moldy. The bed do not have that nice hotel/resort feel. The Mattresses are very old and stained! The pillow sleeve came off from of the pillows and there was brown stain on the pillow. It could be old blood or rust. I don’t know but it’s disgusting. The curtains are broken at the top and some of it is snapped off and it made it very difficult to open and close the curtains. The jacuzzi is FILTHY. The whirlpool holes are so dirty is disgusting you cannot even use it. It’s just a waste of space. The toilet section is SO TINY it’s like the size of a airplane bathroom. ROOM SERVICE- I never really use this service but one night I did call and the guy on the phone rudely told me that the kitchen is down and they’re not taking any room service and he doesn’t know how long the kitchen will be out of service. (I didn’t even get to tell him what I wanted). He told me the other Restaurants that were opened. So I decided to go to the MCJESTIC street food and as im walking the rooms hall I see a resort worker bringing room service to a room. I felt lied to and wasn’t even given a chance to ask what I wanted when i called. RESTAURANTS- Oh boy!! Although there is many food options more than I seen in other resorts, I always seemed to have raw meat! We have been eating every night at the main buffet and this is where we seem to find the raw meat. And also fish. It smelled so fishy the smell lasted on my fingers the whole night even after washing profoundly. BRING YOUR OWN WATER/SODA. Now I don’t know if this resort is short staffed. But oh my goodness… the water that they serve at the table taste like straight up tap water with a numbing feel to it. And also they barely even come to your table to bring you anything to drink. They ask you what would you like (if you get lucky) and you tell them the soda you’ll like and they don’t even come and bring it to you. We had to leave the restaurant many times with our foods in our throats with nothing to drink because nobody brought us anything. This did not only happened at the main buffet but is even worst at the buffet by the beach. The staff are all huddled together talking and they don’t acknowledge you to ask what you would like yo drink. You have to ask them to bring you something and they never bring it. I don’t understand why this kept happening to us. One night during dinner at the main buffet the waiter staff were arguing with each other. It was pretty loud at the restaurant so I am not too sure what it was about. But here is the kicker! One of the family in the table in front of us was done with their dinner as they get up to leave, one of the waiter that was weighing before with the other staff member walks up to one of the guys in the table to “hand shake him goodbye” but it wasn’t really for that, the waiter then stuck out his hand gesturing a tip. I could not believe my eyes. Yes, tips are customary but if someone doesn’t feel like they need to especially in a all inclusive, then they don’t have to. When packages are being bought to stay at this resort, it clearly says gratuity included. MCJESTIC STREET FOOD- One night I got hamburgers from here and the patty was raw! Literally raw meat. Also as the manager there was taking my order his pen ran out of ink and he threw the pen across with so much anger. So uncalled for. He left the front from taking my order, when to go chat with a coworker and forgot all about me to continue to take my order. He finally came back about 10 mins later to ask me again what did I want. So unprofessional. SPLASH KIDS POOL- THIS IS THE PART THAT RUINED OUR VACATION!! We have 1 year old that is almost turning two. On our second day here (Wednesday) we decided to take him to the kids pool so he can enjoy himself. When we got inside and unpacked our stuff my son decided to run to one of the small kids pool it’s Very low water depth wise. My husband ran after him and my son tripped forward in the pool and drank some of the water. EVERYTHING WENT DOWNHILL FROM HERE… ONLY 3 days later. My son caught the coxsackievirus. On Saturday we was showing a rash on his mouth on his tongue some areas of his feet and none on his hands yet. We took him to the resort doctor and she told us to watch for the symptoms because it could most likely be coxsackievirus. So we observed him and the next day Sunday the rash had spread to his nose his knees, elbow and buttocks. We went back to the doctor and she took him in evaluated him and gave him medication and a lotion to help with the scratching. This has costed us almost $300 at the doctor office!! At this point we are pretty much on quarantine because the virus is contagious and my son fun time on this trip was cut VERY SHORT. He cannot be in the sun, heat not in the pool or outside. I am very upset. This was all preventable and all because of the kids pool not being cleaned!! It could have been that someone baby could’ve been in the water with a soiled diaper! PARENTS YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! I complained to the manager and put the report in and actions were taken to make sure the restaurants and pools were disinfected. It is now Monday and my son is covered in the red rash and some blisters all over except for his back and stomach. He is very uncomfortable and in pain. I wish this had happened to me rather then him and as a parent I feel so sad and can’t help but cry because I wanted was for him to have fun. Overall. This resorts needs MAJOR room upgrade it is definitely NOT 5 stars. Giving the times that we are in with this covid everything should be disinfected very well and as you can see it was NOT! Although my son did not get covid he did get a virus that is spreadable in pool water, breathing, and other human droplets. My son loves the water and ever since he’s been sick he doesn’t even mention it anymore! I had high expectations for customer service being that’s what everyone was commenting the most about in this resort but it was very poor. We spoke to them in Spanish since we are from this country and although asome were helpful, the restaurants staff were not. THIS IS NOT A 5 STAR RESORT!!!! Please take everything I mentioned in this review with a gain of salt. Maybe sometime back then this resort was 5 stars but it was definitely not 5 star for us! And we over heard many families complain about their stay as well. I regret choosing this place as our first family vacation and spending so much money in our 10 day stay! Everyone experience will be different! We are very careful parents and make sure we are always following all safety measures including always sanitizing and hand washing. The first thing I did when we got in our room was disinfect all high touch areas.…
This is probably the best trip I have ever had. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The only trouble we had was with room service. Which has been a problem at other resorts in DR also. We did a few excursions with GoMajestic and they were wonderful.
