After 9 hours of flying from paris to puntacana , we arrived at the hotel with a long queue to check in . We went on a summer vacation, which I think was at the flea market. After nearly 1 hour of checking in, we were taken to our room. Spacious clean bedroom ,then walk around the hotel and the beach an unexpected scene was full of seaweed covered the sea surface, the smell rose up, no one could take a bath. Restaurant, breakfast buffet, lunch buffet are disgusting. With a high-priced 5-star hotel, feeding guests is no different from begging for food. The hotel is so economical that it can't find a napkin and hand towel for guests that are black, dirty and smelly. My family had to pay 3500 usd for a flight to Dominicaine to swim in the long sandy beach but unexpectedly had to bathe in the swimming pool with the smell of bleach. A big mistake when we chose the hotel for this vacation.

Hotel's Favourite
The property is large enough to make you not feel confined but small enough to be quaint. VERY clean. Food was plentiful and delicious. The pools are remarkably nice. The staff is friendly. The amenities are outstanding and the entertainment options are vast. The COVID19 restrictions are still in place and annoying but it is a government requirement. A true paradise. We will 100% go back here!

Response from César Güílamo, General Manager at Barceló Bávaro Palace
Responded 25 Jun 2021
Dear Guest, First and foremost we would like to thank you for the praising review you shared following your recent visit to our Barceló Bavaro Palace hotel and are delighted to read that we were able to match your expectations. We are very sorry that you have not been able to enjoy our evening activities due to the state of pandemic in which we find ourselves, this to prevent the spread of the virus due to the crowds of people in the disco and theater. You can be sure that once this situation is normalized we will be happy to provide our guests with those leisure and entertainment services for which we have been recognized in previous years. Again we thank you for this very kind review of our hotel and we look forward to serving you again in the future. Regards, Cesar Güílamo General Manager at Barcelo Bavaro Palace.

Even as a premium guest be prepared for a 3 hour checkin and check out. No communication about anything. Making reservations for dinners is a total joke! It takes 2 hours and they say they don’t “have room” anywhere but every dinner was half full. This place is beautiful but the staff is unorganized and working with dated systems.

We spent 11 days in bávaro palace and it was a great experience they’re doing their best to make things work post COVID and the employees are so warm and accommodating. If I could recommend anything to you it would be the free catamaran that they teach you how to drive at the ocean reservation hut Most importantly I want to shout out the staff at the piano bar Junior Pichardo, Samir Engrand, Cesar Santana, Yorby De Leon, Daniela Guerrero, Yocaris Lazala, Ronal Castillo, John Feliz. All of whom were so kind and fun. They are amazing and I’ll be coming back next year with more family because of their hospitality.
