The LEVEL at Melia Punta Cana Beach is a nice-looking resort with an amazing staff, good food and a good drinks. We went as a group of seven, two males and 5 females. We had 3 rooms 2 were premium beachside rooms, one was at LEVEL. The premium beachside and level rooms are pretty close to each other. I was in building 14 Level the other two rooms were building 11 and 2. The premium beachside rooms did get the optional the LEVEL access just no butlers. Valet/ Bellhop Service – I love to hear “Welcome Home” when I arrive at a resort. It gives to the understanding that the resort employees know this will be home for the next week or whatever amount time you will be there. Jose Guerrero was the first to greet us upon arrival and was always the first to greet us the few times we left the resort for excursions. He made sure we never wanted or needed for anything upon arrival and that we had a good flight/time, walked us to check-in area and asked the bartender to check on us as we seemed thirsty! I’m going to have to give a huge shout out to Joan Pilier the bellhop supervisor. I actually met him one evening when we were at the front desk trying to get stuff fixed in our room. If every employee on that entire Melia property from the Circle to Caribe Beach had the compassion and love for their work and handled diverse situations like he, does I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Check In – Check in was a breeze for the premium beachside rooms. But the Level room was kind of frustrating. The two gents checking us in had to go to the main check-in area for everything why not just check us in there. Concierge/Butler Service – I like to have concierge/ butler service when I vacation, they just make your life easy, from reservations, to COVID test, to a ride to the restaurants, they are their or will have someone there. Juan Adbricoles and Jose Acosta were awesome. Restaurants – I see a lot of complaints about the food quality, I’m going to say come on, your paying for a day at a resort with room, food and alcohol included per adult what one pays for at say a Ruth’s Chris. Is it Michelin Star rated food no of course not, but its decent to good food depending what you eat. The one thing they do tend to do at every restaurant is over cook the meat quite a bit, I did get the requested temp a couple of times but got over cooked meat more than not. Quimera – We ate here for breakfast and lunch mostly, the one night we attempted to eat dinner it was a dinner on the rooftop under the stars, but they were pretty much serving finger food. Breakfast and lunch were great. My family is Dominican and the options they have were perfect for me, the rest of the group were Americans, and they didn’t dislike any of the breakfast options. I’ll try to post the PDF of the menus. Jose Morales Fausto Pena Jose Santana (he’s the one that always singing), Maria Morillo, will take great care of you. Alicia Garcia the hostess that never leaves, she is super welcoming and always knew where we wanted to sit. Hacienda – Pretty decent Mexican food, we at their once. Food was hot some of it was really good some of it was bland, I would have gone back if I didn’t like the Vietnamese (muoi) so much. The Service was great the servers were rotated through the main restaurants. So we saw mostly the same staff all week. Muoi – As previously stated this was my favorite, They can’t make medium rare steaks to save their life and I think its cause the grill isn’t hot enough to sear but the churrasco was good, the salmon and grouper are excellent. Even their twist on the pad thai. Everything I had I like and like I said we were 7 and we ordered everything. The deserts weren’t great but edible and the makis and nigiri we premade and fridged, so they were dry but edible. The Miso soup was fantastic, and the rice noodle salad was as well. Merkado and Rumba were great buffets, Merkado has an excellent staff and Bartenders and they have the till 2am snack bar. The Bars – This is where spent a lot of time and was the most important areas, lol. The Melia PCB lobby shuts down early and even if you are level, they will charge you for the “premium” drinks. So you pretty much stuck drinking well if you want to be where the entertainment is. Shout out to Miguel Rodriguez. The Melia CB lobby bar stays open till 1am and I felt it was livelier. Shout out to Alicia The Casino Bar is 24 hours, get your drinks and go hang out by the chairs in the lobby. Swim up bar no swimming up but Rafael Tussin was great at coming over to us to get us what we needed. Quimera listen walk up to Savera Rodriguez and tell her you need a bloody mary she got you, and if you don’t know what you want just her that she will make you something great. The bar is open late so when the lobby shuts down come here and hangout. Rooms and the resort – a little rundown could use some paint and repairs here and there, the room bed was not great, but we are pretty easy, the room was nice but again could use some fixing here and there, but really its nothing major and we didn’t spend much time in the rooms. I’m going to say there is one theme with Melia resorts I had the same issue back in Nov of 2020 at the Circle back then it was COVID. 2 Beers per day IF they fill it and they weren’t full-size beers they were the little 8-ounce beers. This is an issue that is seriously stupid and easy to fix. It’s ridiculous that we have to take time out of our vacation to find ways to have beer in the room. So, my suggestion if you like to have beer while you shower and get dressed, etc, get a gallon or half gallon tumbler and have them fill it. It is so annoying, and no one will do anything about it either. Same thing for water. Upper Management needs to get this resolved as it should be embarrassing to Melia. Its also demoralizing to your staff, when I brought this to the attention of the staff, they would all say its sucks to hear all the time, but its a management thing and they feel bad that they can't do anything about it. Spa – was nice and comfortable we all had a massage there I enjoyed mine helped start and end the vacation with some good knot removal. Night life and Night Shows – the night life was good I found that Caribe Beach had better night life and you can hang out at quimera as well the staff there is truly amazing and make a party for you. Overall, I’d give our stay an 8 out of 10, overcoming some of the small cosmetic looks of the room and hotel and the not so good bed, was easy. The staff is what made this place a place that we will be going back to. Thank you, Melia, for having the right people on your staff. I want to give a couple of other shoutouts her I am a Circle Member and Rayma Morrilo, Julian Valiendia, Jose Jones were very kind and helpful, got us a reservation at amor de mar the members only restaurant. Another shoutout Vannessa Green Best Bartender at the Circle she still makes the best Bloody Mary, sorry Savera your is fabulous but Vanessa’s is better.

Hotel's Favourite
My friend and I spent last week at Melia, and we chose to spend it in the Level Suites. I highly recommend it!! From our amazing concierge Nathanael Montilla, who took care of our ever need from start to finish, to every single employee who goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is incredible. Our favorite is Francisco in the Jigger bar! Go see him and ask him to make you a Blue Lemon Drop or a Chocolate Martini...yum! Everyone is doing all they can at all times to keep the property clean and kept up, and the place is gorgeous. It is large-yes. But we didn't mind taking a shuttle to the lobby/restaurant area when needed. They were always there when we needed them to be, and we often didn't have to call-there would be one coming by in perfect timing! The food was good. We had a couple fantastic meals, including at Muoi (the Pad Thai was so good!) and at Quimera, the Level restaurant, for dinner one night. We also enjoyed Casa Nostra. I would not say it was the best food we've ever had at a resort, however we never "didn't like" something, and I can't understand why people complain. If you don't like something, try something else. They are very accommodating to all of your requests. The pools are amazing, and since they are at lower capacity now, there were times we were the only ones it the giant adults-only pool! Please...remember to bring singles and five's for tips! The staff here works so hard and I often saw people not tipping them, whether that be at the bars or at meals. A few dollars goes a long way to show how much you appreciate their hard work. Go to Melia-and have the best time!!
