Reynardo took care of us the whole trip and he was amazing! Somehow he managed to anticipate our needs throughout the resort and met us whenever we needed him. We also kept bumping into him since he was all over the place, and he was able to accommodate anything we wanted, whether it be a ride or dinner reservations. He certainly won’t disappoint!
This was our second visit to the Melia resort in Punta Cana, and if this is even possible it exceeded our first visit last year! For starters, the staff remembered us and greeted warmly. Our attending concierge Humberto was so attentive, welcoming and professional that we felt like we were visiting a family member rather than a large resort. I visited several times the Riviera Restaurant, especially after we met Francisco Diaz (the King of the Riviera Restaurant). He is an outstanding person and the best waiter. He made special my wedding anniversary!! Thanks Francisco! My family and I were very impressed with attention even to move from one place to another with in the resort was easy specially after we met Luis. He treaded us like a VIP. Transportation was excellent. Our Ning by were also special! We were every night at the main lobby for the shows and party. We met Maria, a sweet person; she always was pending that we did not runout of stings 🍻🥂 Another heartwarming gesture was the chocolate strawberries, the champagne, and the run. We will be back! Thank you, The Level!!!…
We just had a lovely trip there (June 2022) via British Airways and stayed in the adults only part on a package (for a week). It was really good. The food was excellent. We chose to use an adults only buffet restaurant for lunch and dinner each day which worked out very well for all our different tastes including the two vegans who were spoiled for choice. We went to an adult and child restaurant for breakfast where peacocks wander - it is like a Shangri- La there at the resort - utterly beautiful grounds, lakes, birds, green grass, palm trees. I don't drink but one of my adult sons enjoyed a nightly beer and glass of wine which is included. (We are not heavy drinkers and I saw no one rolling over drunk thankfully). This was my first trip abroad since 2019 (since before Covid 19) and I picked it because there were no masks at Gatwick, none on the plane, not at the airport and none at the hotel ( find it very hard to wear one although the poor staff at the resort have to wear them) and they take unvaccinated people into the country - half our family are not covid vaccinated. There is new form to complete before you go and whilst away called an e-ticket you can fill in for the whole family which you show - bar code - to scan on arrival (BA also had us fill it out on paper which was a bit of a waste of time as people had done it electronically before they left up to 3 days before) and then complete the return one before you go home - which again they asked to see at the airport when leaving. Do go to Santo Domingo - the capital. We paid for a private taxi for the day - took about 2 hours to drive there and 2 back but well worth it. They arranged a tour guide in advance and took us to some wonderful buildings like the Cathedral and house of Christopher Columbus' son - built when in the UK Hampton Court Palace was being built. I just took local currency with me on holiday (and UK british pounds) but everyone seems to want dollars, tour guide, taxis etc so if we went again I would take US dollars instead. You need to change your local currency - pesos - back before you leave, at the airport as you cannot take them home. I also picked the resort because we like very long eg 3 hour beach walks and there are no restrictions - you can walk in either direction for miles. If you go left you end up in the wilds although they are not keen that you venture into the jungle too much in case you are hurt. My sons only just started going to the various free classes - exercise etc just as we were leaving but loved those and said it was the best bit of the trip and wished they had started it earlier. We were also able to sleep 3 adults to a room which as we had an odd number of people going made a big difference to cost. The rooms were huge in the adults only section and modern. The shower was new and the rooms very clean. We had very good wifi which is just as well as I did some work most days from the hotel room. We walked everywhere - it is only about 10 mins from our rooms to reception/one restaurant and another is closer but most people took the free transport which is very regular and kind of train or electric car thing. We swam in the sea at least once a day and it is clear of seaweed due to a barrier. It is very very clean and lovely. We did not like the huge plastic children's play area in the sea higher up the beach by the children part (we went on the child free beach sectoin) which in the UK would not get planning consent (but children loved it!) It spoilt the view. On a few nights there was some noise but nothing too bad and I had ear plugs. It is very Spanish. We have been to a good few other countries i the region which are British - but it was nice to experience the different vibe. There is a section for which we did not pay called "the Level" which nearly stopped my booking this holiday as I was worried about being second class etc, but in practice the few areas those paying for that have are nothing particularly special although they have their own pool and a roof top bar so it was fine that we were not in that. For us our main cry was for water! We drink pints and pints of tap water at home and instead in DR you cannot drink the tap water and you could take bottles (small ones) free from the bar but we certainly did joke that the one necessity for life - water - was a little harder to obtain than at home. Obviously they serve you water or whatever else you want to drink at meals of course. We have never used as many plastic bottles in our lives as there. However that was not a big issue and we had a really lovely holiday. It is a gorgeous place which is very well kept up. We did not really need to use any concierge services other than suitcase storage on last day but whenever we spoke to the reception staff they were very helpful. They were very responsive and gave excellent service. I can hardly praise it enough - it is a lovely place.…
Great hotel!!! Beach bar the best one, very friendly people, Juan the bartender makes you feel like family. Our concierge Reynaldo Dominguez, very helpful and alway there for our needs! See you next year 🤩
We were there for a work trip primarily. The resort is great. All of the facilities and restaurants were clean and well maintained; as you would expect. The resort is well worth the trip. The seaweed Issue is well managed and the pools are crystal clear. None of those things are why I will be returning to this resort however. I will be returning because of the people!! Mainly because of Lorenzo! We were lucky enough to have Lorenzo as our concierge for the week. He went above and beyond on every interaction we had with him which made the trip perfect. He always responded in a timely manner and he accomplished every request we had; including same day dinner reservations with only a 1 hour notice. Then he drove from one side of the resort to the other, picked us up from a beach party and then drove us back across the resort to drop us off at the front door of the restaurant for our reservations. My wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary while we were there and Lorenzo helped me set up a private dinner on the beach. There is a package I purchased to make this happen and it was great! However, the personal touches that Lorenzo added that were not included in the dinner package made the night special… perfect even! I felt that Lorenzo sincerely cared about our experience, he was incredibly genuine with every interaction and he seems to have a true hospitality heart. Thank you very much Lorenzo!! We also met a few other team members that were great as well: Luis (bartender at Barefoot grill) Julio (concierge at Barefoot Grill) and I absolutely hate that I don’t remember the names of the others. If you happen to meet Luis and Julio at the Barefoot, please, please walk up to the bar and loudly order a “machete”. ( Ma - Che - Tay). I promise you won’t be disappointed!!…

We just got back from staying 5 days at Melia Caribe Beach Level Beach Side. Pros: We were a group of 5 .Had 2 rooms by beach side..building 33. The rooms were very nice and clean..They had one King bed and a trundle bed..The property is large, beautiful and very well maintained. We would take the train to get back and forth from room to lobby.During our stay there the beach had a lot of sea grass and the water was murky so we did not use the beach..They have several large pools on the property..We used the family and adult side pools. Food: We had breakfast and lunch at Tartufo a couple of the days and also Riviera and Merkado which is by the beach. The food at all the buffets was OK but you could always find something to your liking..For dinner at night we were able to get reservations for the four nights we were there so we ate at the Vietnamese-Moui, the Italian-Casa Nostra, the spanish-Alma and at the Riviera which was World cuisine..They were all very good. Our favorite being Casa Nostra and the Riviera. Cons: We got there around 12:30 pm and had to wait until after 4:00 pm to get our room..At around 3:00 pm when I asked when we will be getting our rooms because we had not eaten lunch they told us to go get lunch and then come back to check in which we ended up getting room around 4:00 pm. Wish they would have told us to do that earlier. For booking the Level I thought we would get a concierge that would help us with our reservations for dinner but that was not the case with us..All he did was when we got to our room dialed the # and told me to wait until they answered then he left..he also told me that I could not make reservations for the same day we checked in..when they answered the phone I was able to make the reservations for the same night and for 2 more nights..the next day I texted him to see if I could change a reservation for an earlier time and he told me to come to the lobby or I could call but would have to wait a while for them to answer so I told him I would call to give me the extension # and I called and they answered right away and was able to change the time and make reservations for my last night there…The concierge never got in touch with me at all during our stay to see if we needed anything until I was back home..So I would not recommend him at all! Despite this all in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would go back again! !…
Arrived at hotel at 3pm waited an hour just to received our bracelets. Missed the opportunity to have lunch at the closest restaurant. Our room was available at 6pm. Couldn’t enjoy the water park because it was already closed. Sea weed all over the beach. We were very disappointed. The room was decent. Staff was unfriendly. Food mediocre. Total horror. Please wear mask to go to restaurant to get your food and eat outdoors at all times. People were coughing and sneezing all over hotel
It’s my second time visiting. Love the ambiance and the staff is amazing. Always looking for ways to make you happy. Their food is amazing. Drinks not impressed. Bring your own liquor. Super clean room and bathroom. Loved the night activities. The beach is impeccable
