We stayed for one night at Kisima Ngeda as part of our Tanzanian safari, a base from which to visit the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes, and absolutely loved it.

We received a wonderfully warm welcome from one of the owners and that was reflected in the service we received throughout our stay, which was just superb - professional, personal, friendly and welcoming.

The camp is in a lovely location, on the lakeside, tucked away amongst trees towards the Northern end of the lake and meals, which were very good, were served in a dining area that was open at one end and had a great view out onto the lake shore.

Our tented accommodation was lovely - really comfortable and sited amongst the trees so we were sent to sleep by the wind rustling gently in the leaves.

My only regret is that we only had one night there, as I'd've liked to have stayed longer.

Upon arrival we were greeted immediately by a few staff members that assisted us with our bags and check-in. From check-in until the time we left the next day, the service was impeccable. We were on a week long safari trip after our climb of Kilimanjaro and this camp was my favorite amongst all the camps we stayed at. The food was the absolute best here and the scenery was so peaceful. The owner, Nani, made sure to check on us several times throughout the stay and shared several fascinating stories about past guests, and the tribes we would be visiting the next day. The Hadzabe and Datoga visit was a highlight of our trip and is very highly recommended! Alex, an employee of Kisima, shared several videos about the Hadzabe tribe the night before our visit and was very helpful in understanding the tribe and what to expect the next day. Alex and all the employees made this place special - you really felt like family! The entire camp was so peaceful and the tents were perfect for our stay. When I return to Tanzania, I’ll make it a point to stay at this camp and longer than just a day! Thank you Kisima for the wonderful stay!

I went to the lovely Kisima Ngeda Tented Camp to do some research and work with the Hadzabe tribe and was fortunate enough to be connected with this fantastic lodge. The tents were beyond comfortable, with amazing views and easy access. The food was stellar and the services was top notch. My co-worker and I felt so taken care of and provided for that it made all aspects of what we were trying to accomplish easy and feasible. We spent a good amount of time at their Fly Camp location as well, which was out in a very remote area. The tents there were comfortable and the food they provided, even out in this location, was 5 star. We became friends with our guides and chef and felt like we were immediately ingratiated into their community like family. They provided unparalleled access to the Hadzabe tribe and we had an experience that will stay with us for a lifetime. I went there for work and ended up making relationships and participating in a lifestyle that gave me great perspective on life in general to take home with me. I hope I have the opportunity to return someday with my family as it's definitely something that everyone should experience and enjoy. Thank you to the entire Kisima Ngeda team!

We stayed two nights at Kisima Ngeda. The tented lodge is charming even if it’s inauguration dates back some twenty years.
Taking this into account, the upsides prevail.

Staff is so friendly, you hardly feel as guest but rather a long not seen friend.
Everyone is eager to make you feel comfortable. This includes Nani and Christian, the owners. Nani was around to greet us and introduce us to the location. Christian came at dinner time to ask about our plans, whether we would need a wake-up visit including coffee/ tea and tropical juice and some bisquits the next morning before heading for our trip to the Hadzabe tribe nearby. It was a very personal exchange, one that once again made us feel amongst friends.

From breakfast to dinner, meals were excellent. The ‚chef de cuisine‘ and the service crew did everything to please us. I tried to convey to the kitchen, that the meals were delicious, yet too much, and quantity might be reduced, but what do good friends do? Smile and add another plate ;)

I cannot name everyone, but we do remember Mike (just call me) as well as Esekiel, who accompanied us for a walk to the lake, the waiters…, they all have a place in our hearts.

The place is superb for bird and sunset watching. As honeymooners, we were greeted with a bottle of champagne, that was served at the perch overlooking the public space, the lake with lots of birds and the surroundings.

The friendliness of the people, who we met in Tanzania, is beyond imagination.
God bless them and their families, the country as well as the jobs that they are performing in.
Asante sana!

Klaus & Amal

We love the tent which is right next to Lake Eyasi, and the attentive service. We particularly enjoyed the evening walk with the hotel guide to the lake shore and the on top of the rock hill. The views were amazing and we saw flocks of migratory birds. The service we received from the restaurant was awesome too. The staff was always reaching out to check whether we need anything. The viewing tower in the property was well appointed, allowing us to take really nice photos while enjoying the view.

Lake Eyasi is probably not a must-see but the activities in this area are breathtaking. Kisima Ngeda is a convenient base to explore the daily life of local tribes. We loved the friendly owners and staff. The tents probably need a remake in the next few years.

We stayed one night at Kisima Ngeda on Lake Eyasi and were looked after so well from our arrival to our check out. We had an amazing view from our tent over the lake and everything was comfortable, super clean and really hot water in the shower which is great! The common spaces are very beautiful and pleasant to spend a good time and the food was fabulous, all with a lot of refinement. Thank you all for your hospitality, friendliness and we hope to come back one day :)

Asante Sana! Obrigado!

We wanted to visit the Hadzabe, a tribe of hunter gatherers who have defied efforts to bring them closer to civilisation and this was the camp we stayed at. It is off the usual tourist trail - all the better for that and we loved it. It is easily reachable from Arusha and is very comfortable, lovingly managed and very well run. The area around Lake Eyasi has developed thanks to irrigated onion fields, but the camp is hidden away in a lovely position at the side of the lake among beautiful thorn trees. We were looked after extremely well and the Hadzabe trip was thought provoking and in its way very moving. Of course the experience is a tourist one and felt (to us) intrusive, but the family group we meet did not seem to be in the slightest bit bothered and were friendly. There is probably a reason why mongoose, genet cat and baobab sludge are not to be found in our local English super-market but the family looked well on it and it is instructive to see how they are so well connected to their environment. How much longer will they survive? Who knows, but I hope they do manage to live in their biological niche for a few more generations as we have much to learn from them.

The tent was great. We felt like we were in the wilds, but were safe from the wildlife. The restaurant served some of the best food we ate on our 3 week trip. We were super impressed by their ability to handle complex food allergy issues. Next to the lake you will want to take care and wear deet as there are mosquitoes.

This was near the beginning of our 3-week safari to Tanzania, and it was splendid! Great location, excellent food and service, friendly staff, very comfortable room. My wife was sick for a day and they took very good care of her and us. We recommend Kisima Ngeda Camp very highly! Visits to the local tribes (Datoga and Hadza) were highlights and you should not miss them.
