Our favorite accommodation of the trip was an incredible highlight that truly captured the essence of an authentic safari. The location was perfect, immersing us in the heart of nature while offering clean, comfortable tents that we absolutely loved. Hearing hyenas and buffalo just outside our tent in the evenings was an unforgettable experience! The staff was exceptional, from the warm and friendly Maasai escorts to the talented cooks and attentive waiters. A special thank you to Alfredo and Muhamed from the F&B team for their outstanding hospitality and warm welcome. This stay was everything we dreamed of and more—a perfect blend of adventure, comfort, and care.

Arriving to the joy of people playing the famous Tanzanian songs and having the most customer friendly people for 2 nights was genuinely a very special experience. The rooms were top notch being in the middle of the serengeti, with a mix of luxury, great food and top notch service. We celebrated New Year’s Eve here which they did absolutely perfect, the breakfast, packed lunches and dinner were amazing. They were able to answer my request of gluten intolerance which I honestly didn’t have any expectations for, and it turned out it was the best gluten free bread and cookies i had ever had. Had to ask for the recipe.

We spent time here in February, which is when the wildebeest migration is nearby, so this location was excellent for all sorts of animal sightings! We were able to see thousands of wildebeests just minutes from our lodge. We were also fortunate enough to have a pride of ~15 lions that was steps away from the lodge. Given the excellent location of the lodge, we had giraffes visiting our room, as well as multiple water buffalo overnight while the lions talked throughout the night nearby.

The lodge amenities were nice and included the main area that was made up of the pool, bar area, dinner area, and lodge shop. The rooms were quite spacious and each one had a front porch that allowed for lounging. Our room also had a ceiling fan in it, which was the first time we had seen this during our safari - it was a huge advantage during some hot days/nights!

We were a tour group of 30 and stayed 3 nights (room 2 wonderful) - best of the entire 11 day Safari! The “tents” are beyond spectacular, location stunning and just yards from the great migrating herds, food just lovely and service over the top. What I mean by that is the genuine warmth, kindness, welcome and attentiveness was perfect and gracious. But most of all it was Ronald, head of Housekeeping, who sought to make sure everyone was comfortable and safe - he anticipated needs and quietly and expertly provided with sincere hospitality. For me at my age and the cost makes it a once in a lifetime experience- all the more memorable because of Mr. Ronald.

We enjoyed having dinners and breakfasts at the beautiful restaurant of Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge because Fred was very attentive and provided top notch service during our 2-night stay there. The food was delicious and prepared with care. So, 5 stars are for Fred and the chefs.

We did not feel the hospitality at our orientation. The manager was nowhere to be seen throughout our visit. The beds are comfortable but the room is very dark and old styled. The sticky rat trap in the bathroom was a warning sign. They also obviously have insect problems because every day when we were at dinner, they would close all the windows and spray insecticide throughout the room. The noxious smells were annoying to say the least. We also were surprised that we could not have breakfasts and dinners with our safari guide which was important to us to go through our plans. That’s why I gave one star in this review. If we visit Ndutu in the near future, we will choose another accommodation.

Dear Wendy K, Thank you for taking the time to share with us your experience at Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge. We greatly appreciate your feedback. Insects and rodents are part of the wildlife in Ndutu, and the best we can do is to keep them away from guest rooms and lodge public areas. Please accept our apologies for the scent of the insect spray which we will try to keep as odorless as possible. Lighting at the lodge is by solar power, and, in response to your comment, it is in our plans to provide more light in the guest rooms. The safari crew (drivers & guides) have a separate cafeteria for dining and social entertainment within the lodge premises. However, the crew can dine with guests upon guests' request which would involve some minimal extra cost. Our commitment at Lake Ndutu is to provide the finest in service and personal attention to all our guests, and your feedback is greatly appreciated as we constantly strive to achieve this goal. We would be pleased to have another opportunity to welcome you again to Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge. Thank you once again for the feedback.

The chef was particularly good & accommodated my veggie options. The food was excellent!
The staff were very attentive & the manager made sure that all our needs were met.
The rooms were big & clean, with a mosquito net over the beds every night.

The staff were amazing, special mention to Alfred who made each meal time such fun! Whilst the food was a buffet, it was very tasty, well presented and always lots of choice. Such a lovely clean pool. Great viewing platform where we enjoyed reading our books overlooking lake Ndutu. The rooms are very clean but not the best we stayed in - they feel quite dark and it would be nice to be asked about the bed configuration. We were disappointed to be put in a room with 2 small beds rather than 1 large one. The outdoor shower has no outlook. We heard lions roaring outside our room on both evenings we stayed here which was incredible. Brill that the front of the lodges are glass so that you can enjoy the view at all times.

We get to spend two nights in this beautiful lodge. The tents are beautifully and comfortably furnished. Upon our arrival, a giraffe stood in front of our terrace to greet us. Later, a few more zebras and largest visited us peacefully just two meters away. The restaurant was excellent. There was buffet and everything was extremely delicious. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

We spent 4 nights at the Ndutu Tented Lodge last week. During this time of the year, this camp is the place to be. The staff couldn't have been more friendly, with kind greetings and always asking if there is something we need or that they can do for us. Our waiter, Johnson, went out of his way at each meal to make us comfortable, and manage our many breakfast and lunch takeouts. Our room and all common buildings were spotless, and the grounds were well maintained with flowers and trees. The view from our porch was also great, with wandering giraffes during the day and the sounds of lions and hyenas very close by at night. Some rooms has better views than others, ask for one in front on the lake side; our room was #9. The food was great, nice bar and pool area. During this time of he year this camp is in the ideal location. We were right in the middle of the annual migration. Many times we were surrounded by 100's of thousands of wildebeests. We saw thousands of wildebeests babies including many births. We have stayed at other locations in Ndutu, but the Lake Ndutu Luxury Lodge is by far the best.

We stayed in five safari locations in northern Tanzania and Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge was our favorite. The food, the accommodations, and the service was the best. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, all the amenities had been thought of (including fresh water to brush your teeth with and mosquito repellant towelettes). We enjoyed being able to sit on our deck and see giraffe and elephants walk by. / The barbecue dinner (served in a safe location) - under the stars with camp fires for light was a very special treat. / Good internet service too!
