Spent a day at Gibbs Farm, including the tour of the farm, a delicious lunch and a swim in the infinity pool. It was a wonderful day, the gardens and the farm were beatiful with such a range of flowers and trees, the staff were so friendly and, as a coeliac (gluten free), they could not have been more helpful. The chef came to find me and went through the menu to explain the (Many) options for lunch that were available to me. The family loved this place and we will definitely be back! Thank you.
My family and I stayed 2 nights at Gibbs Farm and it was seriously impressive, every single second of our stay was memorable. The staff were incredibly friendly and the service was impeccable - everyone went out of their way to make sure out stay was perfect. The food is something else, hands down the best food anywhere in Tanzania and quite possibly anywhere in Africa, it tastes good and every single meal is beautifully presented and of course farm fresh. You actually just have to stay at Gibbs Farm if you come to Tanzania!
I feel like if you're ever going to see a Unicorn or a Centaur on Planet Earth, this would be the place. Gibbs Farm seems like a magical dream you concocted deep in your subconscious, but were never able to materialize. Well friends, look no further. On arrival we were greeted by a party of smiles who genuinely seemed like they wanted to be there. After staying only 16 hours it seems almost everyone knew our names. Our room, dubbed the "Star" cabin should be featured in an interior design magazine. Complete with an outdoor shower framed by a tropical oasis, a back porch overlooking a flower bed that Martha Stewart would be proud of, and the most comfortable bed of our entire two week trip in Africa, I would not only have stayed more than one night, I would live there forever and spontaneously become a romance novelist. I haven't even mentioned the FOOD - all of which is made on the property with locally grown ingredients. I almost asked for a dolly to roll me out of the restaurant after my 3rd serving of homemade sweet tomato sorbet. Everything was just...phenomenal. If I haven't convinced you to stay here yet, there are a host of "activities" included in the price of your stay - such as horseback riding, farm tours, a walk through 30 acres of their estate coffee plantation, and many others. Unfortunately we didn't get to partake in any of these because of our short stay. My only regret staying at Gibbs Farm would be if we made a baby that night.…
I spent 2 nights at Gibbs Farm as a solo guest. From the time Vincent picked me up from the airport, I found the service impeccable. Everyone on staff was so polite and friendly. The food was amazing and very fresh. The cottage was cozy and I enjoyed a nice bath while the fire was going in the evening. I would totally stay here again. The grounds are breathtaking!!!
We were walking down the road when we met a very lame horse carrying a woman and her child. They were accompanied bij a groom on another horse. The horse was suffering and sweating heavily. I told them this was not ok. The lady answered she had no idea but didn’t seem to mind to much. The groom should have walked the horse home. Giving his own horse to the lady. We went to the lodge to make a complaint about this to the manager. She said the horses weren’t theirs. Of course this doesn’t make it right. The guest was theirs. She would look into it. I sincerely hope she did.
