They definitely did a good job with renovations. Had a couple of friends over and we enjoyed our stay there. Great stuff and food. I’d advise you checkout their bar area I really loved what they did with the furniture (Woodwork on point with less processing, felt like I was sitting on a tree instead of a chair.
Ps: they have a pool…😊

If u want a peaceful and quiet place then this is your place though average but acceptable.

It has all basics needed for a lodge with an option for bed and breakfast or self catering.

Just didn't like the taste of the water from taps though fortunately had brought my own bottled water along.

This is a budget lodge and it does not pretend to be luxurious. It is clean, the host is very nice, the food is plentiful and nicely made (although the choice is minimal) and the rooms are simple, but ok. Make sure your room has hot shower and functioning air conditioning before settling in.
No wi-fi whatsoever. Not even your 3G will get you anywhere.

So we booked the placed for a country and western music jamboree, an overnight event. I'll be honest, we were skeptical while making bookings, we called endlessly confirming amenities and boom, the manager was very nice and welcoming on the phone. We did not even book online but we called him and he did the booking on our behalf. Fast forward, when we arrived, he was waiting to welcome us, we were led to our rooms, clean and recently painted rooms. Aircons functioned well and we loved our checking in experience. There we were outdoors during the night, gathered around our camp fire and we loved the experience and treatment received. We chilled on the next day and enjoyed a quiet time out.

Writing this review for a friend of mine who stayed here for 1 night, on business from S Africa.
His words: "absolute gem of a place run by an English guy who's been here a few years. Clean, tidy, well thought out, great food. Im definitely going to consider bringing the family here at some point in the future- top marks"

I booked this last year when we were on our way to St Lucia wetlands in South Africa. We had travelled from Hlane game park and were looking forward to a stopover. The place was deserted and the garden and whole first impression was somewhat shocking .The approach and surrounds were neglected ie broken water feature garden overgrown and pots full of dead plants and weeds. The rondavel we were to stay after being given the key and having to search for it was dark ,dingy and the bathroom awful. The so called restaurant was more like a western saloon some where in the Wild West !did not want to risk eating there. The whole place was so awful ,we decided make the long drive to South Africa where we luckily were able to extend our stay at the fantastic Zulani gust house.

Response from Swaziman, Owner at Lituba Lodge
Responded 26 Jan 2014
Clearly the Lodge was in need of Spring cleaning at the end of a long dry cold winter, but some dead flowers and a broken water feature is no reason to submit such a response. We pride ourselves on a very high quality menu and all customers that have actually eaten here agree, for the customer to say they wouldn't risk eating in the Lodge is subjective speculation without experience or justification. It would appear that if a customer finds something not to their liking its all too easy to look for other things to pad our the poor response they wish to submit, to sort of justify what they are saying, to make their story more believable.

We took a group of 9 students to Swaziland and stayed for several days at the Lituba Lodge. It was a wonderful place, and the owner did so much to facilitate our trip. It is an authentic and unique experience, and provides everything you need for a great, quaint experience. We actually enjoyed the stay and atmosphere so much that we returned two weeks later for two more nights. Don't expect anything fancy, but expect a great time and plan on making a few new friends.

Booked as an overnighter on the way back from Mozambique, paid in full for bed and breakfast prior to our arrival, and emailed the manager in advance to book for dinner, which he confirmed.

When we arrived (about 19h00) the place was practically deserted. Absolutely nothing available from the restaurant. Ended up braaing our own wors we happened to have in the car.

We had booked 2 rooms but the 3 of us ended up staying in 1 room as the single female was anxious about security after being harassed at the reception area.

Neither the fan nor the aircon in the room worked, and the light went out after about 1 minute. The toilet didn't flush. I think the linen was clean but couldn't really tell seeing as though there was no light.

Nothing really good to say about the place. Avoid.

Ah this is not a fair comment from the guest, They arrived about 19h00 They asked about dinner and were informed we had a problem , I went to them myself and apologized that as our chef had met with her demise just two days before, we were in a bit of a mess and were unable as a result, prepare them evening meal, However they said it was fine could I supply them with a braai so they could braai for themselves. We ran around even though it was dark and found everything they needed. we subsequently later in that evening suffered a power cut which was most unfortunate for the guests as the lights aircon and fan including the water to flush the toilets all rely on electricity Their comments are I believe a little over the top.

Doubtful bedding, crushed mattresses, no glasses in the room, only 6 plasses for the bar and restaurant, 80 % of the dishes of the restaurant menu cannot be served, The doors of rondavels close badly and more.
Only positive point: the breakfast and the staff who makes that he is possible with tired average that we give to her
