Very good value for money! Can definitely recommend if you are looking for a place on the beach with a shoe string budget. We experienced excellent weather during our one week stay and was able to do a lot of traveling/ exploring during the day.

I would have been happy if the accommodation catered for the amount of people we were. I booked a 6 sleeper, but only 1 person could shower in hot water. The rest of us had to shower in cold water. Not nice.

We had a family of 5 weekend away breakaway. We had a lovely stay at de Bakke, even though it was short. The unit we stayed was clean and nicely renovated. Location of the chalets are great, so close to the beach!

The pictures did not prepare us for the old and tired place. The bathrooms were in terrible shape. Brown bath and the toilet was just horrible. Not because they did not clean that day, but negligence over time. Still it turned my stomach. The kitchen drawers were falling apart, However, the staff were great and the view was excellent. They have great pensioners specials, but maybe place older pensioners in units with showers. The location is also central, however there is not exactly a shop within walking distance, so you will have to drive to shops. But it is all short distance with your car. The resort as a whole is clean and security around all the time. Even with many campers around, it was quiet at night.

The location of the resort is very convenient and close to most amenities and restaurants and shops. There is security at all times on the resort.....although limited at times , but one feels safe. The Beach is on your doorstep and the sea water is absolutely amazing....hopefully will be back in the future

Baring the booking (that could have been disastrous if not followed-up), the service staff upon arrival were friendly and helpful. Maintenance was quick to react when called upon. From our chalet we had a fantastic view of the sea. For two families (4 pax) , it was value for money. The chalet could do with some real TLC. wrt paint, varnish to windows and doors, torn curtains, and light fittings (no lamp shades and loose wiring). In general the chalet was clean, bedding clean and most amenities for self catering. The specific chalet was fairly spacious for our needs. The thistles and "devils thorns" outside could be gathered for better walking experience (without shoes). It was nice to see that certain chalets are in the process of being upgraded or have been upgraded.

Please lets be realistic,i would like you as the owners to please go to the bakke camp site sea view and take your shoes off and walk up and down on that grass and you tell me what pain you feel under your feet, or you are to blind all these years to see the poor service you have provided to your clients, we will be having a meeting with the municipality about this disgusting service towards the customers 😖😖😖👎

We very disappointed in the De Bakke and will NEVER stay in those houses again, and we regret booking there in the first place. The drain outside our bathroom smelled TERRIBLE, and we reported it twice. Nothing was done about the smell, it just got worse by the day. They are very quick to take a person's deposit for nonsense, but when they have to render a service, it is not done! The rooms are also extremely small, you have to "go outside to change your mind", terrible to stay there for 2 weeks, not to even talk about the fact that the rooms are not sound proof at all. You also only get 2 toilet rolls for 5 people in a 14 day stay. Linen and towels are also only changed once in 7 days. The fence also looks TERRIBLE, and is so rusted. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere nicer in Mossel Bay!…
