Outeniqua Moon Percheron Stud and Guest Farm is a farm with a difference. Situated at the foot of the Robinson Pass, we offer spectacular mountain views. Not only do our guests enjoy the luxurious Victorian-style self-catering units, they are also given the opportunity to interact with the majestic, regal heavy draft horses that we breed and protect on the farm. A visit includes an exciting cart ride over Fynbos-covered lands on the illustrious Vulcan that leaves our guests exhilarated and invigorated. It is a bird-watchers paradise, the African silence broken by the singing, twittering, chirping, tweeting and whistling of the huge variety of birds that share their land with us.

The accommodations are located on a horse farm (Heavy Draft Horses) making for the most picturesque scenery from ever location on the grounds. There are outdoor and indoor cooking options which was perfect for my family and I. The hosts we very gracious at facilitation fresh fire wood everyday for outdoor grilling options. There are many fruit trees on the property. Using this fruit to make a hearty South African stew (Potjie Kos) for out New Years eve dinner turned out to be excellent with the locally sourced lamb knuckles. There are horsy type activities to do on the farm including everyday feeding and cart rides. The rooms are comfortable with small kitchens fully equipped and a luxurious bath tub. Water is very hot be careful. Rates are also agreeable. Outeniqua Moon gets 4 thumbs up from me.

I have been following on Facebook and finally had the opportunity to visit. The owner Christine and the host Christine were welcoming and super informative about the magnificent horses. All the staff are friendly. The self catering accomodation is rustic yet comfortable. Kitchen well equipped for our needs. Beautiful location with views over the Outeniqua mountains and of course the fields with the horses. Now onto the horses themselves. Magnificent, gentle giants. Having one of the foals lay on your lap was just something else and the opportunity to ride Shadowfax was amazing. Interacting with these horses was so special. Their resident doggies are super friendly and my boy enjoyed playing with them so much. This place is good for the soul.

A jewel of the Southern Cape. A special place with special animals with a special story managed and operated by special people and special staff. This is a MUST see when down in the Southern Cape or Klein Karoo. A charming farmstead with accommodation facilities and picnic area as well as braai options with fantastic swimming pool.

We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite for three nights and were very happy there. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom prettily decorated and we had lots of space. We appreciated having a separate living area and a veranda and loved seeing the beautiful horses grazing in their camps. Marie cooked for us one night and her food was amazing. Having the opportunity to meet and befriend her gorgeous Percheron mares, foals and stallions was a treat. The carriage ride was huge fun. Loadshedding was a minor inconvenience, largely mitigated by the generator. The pleasure of staying in such a delightful place with these special horses who are so well loved and cared for made it a stay to treasure.

I was completely blown away by the quality of the room or rather by the suite which I was given. Great value and the host is so warm and welcoming that I was completely at home. What an amazing and fascinating experience. I can't believe I only spent one night here.

Friendly from beginning to end and the hospitality was excellent, not even to talk about the dinners that were provided.. it’s like eating at a 5 star hotel.. so tasty… And then… their percheron stud is magnificent… such majestic and beautiful animals…and it was a privilege to meet them and share Christene and Peter’s passion

OMW this is such a special place. The horses are really beautiful and well cared for. The foals were super special and having one lie with it's head on my lap really made my day <3 Kevin, the farm manager is an absolute hoot with his descriptions when he took us on a tour around the horses, he also took us on a cart ride which was great. Christine is a fantastic host and is really passionate about her horses. Unfortunately we didn't get to sample her food because her arm was injured but she suggested we go to a game farm down the road which was great. The accommodation was perfect for my son and myself. This is a fantastic place if you just want to chill and get back to nature and have some horse therapy :) I loved the vaulting and also sitting on Shadowfax was really special. I will definitely come back and this time it will be with my husband <3 Thank you Christine and Kevin for the informative tour around the horses and also for encouraging people to interact with them. The location is perfect - not too far from Mossel Bay or from Oudtshoorn

Christine and Peter are lovely hosts. Very passionate about the horses. The animals blew my 3 year old away, from the frogs, dogs, ponies, chickens & horses. The room was comfortable and fit 3 adults and 2 children comfortably. Will definitely return to this property! My daughter is now looking to get into horse-riding and vaulting after a few test runs with Christine.
