This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI

The Diaz Hotel & Resort offers a range of amenities appreciated by many guests, including variegated dining choices, a beautiful pool, and stunning sea vistas, although there are notes about dated utensils and some equipment issues. Room experiences vary, with praise for spaciousness and views counterbalanced by noise and cleanliness concerns. While staff friendliness is often commended, service can be hit-or-miss, with reports of disorganization. The vibrant atmosphere is a draw for some, despite critiques of the decor. Location opinions are split, and the value proposition is debated, particularly regarding room rates and extra fees.

I t was a fantastic few days . I had no problem to get to my room and it was done within 10min very well organized by front desk staff. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and it was a very good meal which enable me not to eat for the rest of the day. The surrounding was clean and civilians very friendly during our morning walk on the breach. We were really treated very well and that we have to congratulate the whole staff of Diaz Hotel. Just n pity that the warm swimming pool were closed but we understand that renovations was due. Fantastic cannot wait for the next occasion. From myself and my wife thank you making our stay so pleasant. Until we meet again!!!

Improve the quality of the beds, I was not comfortable sleeping on twin beds.
Preach cleanliness to your employees, some went to the toilet came back without washing the hands at the bathroom, my male colleagues raised that concern, he was at the same bathroom with that male employee, especially on male employees.

anyway, I enjoyed staying at Diaz, very nice experience.

We spent two nights at this hotel as part of our tour of the Eastern Cape, and we were very impressed by the décor throughout the hotel, and the fresh coastal colours of our room. The balcony accorded stunning views in both directions along the coast line of Mossel Bay, together with a soundscape of the waves crashing onto the beach, we were lucky enough to enjoy a tranquil night’s sleep. Some of our party accommodated on lower floors unfortunately had to endure loud music and partying into the night from the Pirates Tower cocktail bar. So insist on a higher floor if you want a good night’s sleep. Mealtime service was poor, we had to wait over 30 minutes for a pizza in the restaurant, and I stood at the egg cooking counter at breakfast for five minutes whilst the cook chose to speak to another member of staff rather than serve me, and then she looked like she was doing me a favour. An improvement in customer service should be on the menu.

Recently stayed in Diaz Hotel from the 27th December to 5th January. Hotel Room has a great view and that’s about it. Majority of the time we were here the wind blew us off the balcony anyway.

Two bars below the hotel play music very loud until 10/12 pm every night resulting in no afternoon or evening rest time until the party below is over.

House keeping removed towels in the morning and would not replace them until 6pm/7pm that evening. When speaking to reception a very rude lady they said they have no towels and they are all in the wash.
Toilet paper, tissues, shower gel etc were never replaced despite being empty for 4 days. Asked housekeeping but nothing happened.

Security in the car park use cones to book parking spots for other people. On a number of occasions we have tried to park outside the hotel but security advise the car park is full even though many spots are available. We have then had to go and park in the multi story parking next door. Assuming of you bribe or pre pay security they will look after you.

Haven’t seen any management or senior staff in the whole time I have been here.
All staff sit on mobile phones throughout the day all over the hotel doing nothing. Staff will not even smile or greet back when I have tried to be friendly.

Breakfast is average,

Far better hotels in the Area for the price. Don’t waste your money here.

The hotel is at a great spot. Best beach views as all rooms have a balcony. Room was clean upon arrival but during our stay room was not cleaned properly. When making the booking rates also show breakfast is included but reality is that you receive a R100 voucher per person. I think this should be mentioned when you make your booking. Staff is however very friendly and helpful.

I found the premises to be easily accessible. The layout is very open and clear, and there was no congestion in the entrance lobby when new arrivals were at the administratrion desk and others were moving through the area.
The staff is friendly and keen to assist, and their training has rendered them capable of handling any eventuality. Their ability to handle our group of ±60 was remarkable.

We have an annual holiday at Diaz. We love this hotel but this year there were a few changes. One had to pay for a second room key despite us having a family room. U get the fee back however i found this silly. The rooms were not swept daily & we were woken by a smoke alarm one morning with no advice as to why. A plug in our room was broken . A guest had a dog in the hotel too & we were woken by barking. I asked for tomato sauce at breakfast & the waiter looked at me and said its in the downstairs restaurant with no attempt to assist at all. I had to ask the egg station chef to assist me in the end so her station was left unattended for this period. Other than this all was good. The new Bahia restaurant in the hotel was fantastic and the manager was wonderful we were so impressed by the food and service.

We decided to stop-over in Mosselbaai during a recent trip from Cpt to PE and chose the Diaz Hotel & Resort since they offered a free upgrade to a suite and included breakfast. What a wonderful experience from friendly reception/staff, very comfortable clean accommodation, awesome sea views from the 11th floor (pity about the heavy fog) and delicious meals. Well done, will certainly be back.

We had a great stay on the eleventh floor with a view to die for. Because of covid it was quiet, which we enjoyed, felt like only us. Fantastic pool on the beach, now closed, so you enjoy all fesutures wiithout sand in your hair. Breskfast was en hungormus surprise, obviously stressed by the pandemic knfluence, however the cheff and staff made it so enjoyable. Ii found my favourite Stay in Mossel Bay!!! Heartbraking shes empty because of.... We PRAY that the desease will DIE and all our fantastic accommodations could fill to the brim, allowing our economy to flourish omce again!!!

As far as I know, every room in this hotel has a 180 degree sea view. There is safe parking with a security guard and the staff at the desk were very helpful with the luggage. We enjoyed the hotel restaurant for dinner which had a reasonable variety of food on the menu at reasonable prices. The breakfast was served in a conference-type room on one of the lower floors and was a buffet. All very standard. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern with a good walk-in shower. Will stay again. Note that the hotel is not well signposted from the road. We started off by going to wrong place!!!
