The warmth of our reception on arrival was a clear indication of what was to come. The thatched room was spacious, very comfortable and well equipped with lovely views. Stephan was a delightful guide who was a fountain of knowledge - we were especially interested in the amazing bird life and flora in the reserve. The Camp is a family run business and it shows. We were made very welcome and the whole experience was peaceful and relaxing. We will certainly return and have already recommended the Camp to friends.

Upon our arrival we were met with warm smiles and an out of this world reception. The hosts were nothing short of amazing - attended to all of our needs; very calm, professional and engaged us meaningfully. The safari experience was stellar - lions roaring in the background. The rooms were immaculate. I would definitely go back. Recommended highly.

We had the most wonderful stay at Garden Route Safari Camp! Starting with the wonderful welcome by the team, the hospitality is unmatched, even for South African standards. The camp was established just a few years ago and is run by the Knoetze family. You can feel that everything is done with passion and love. Unelle is looking after everything at the reception with so much positive spirits, Stephan is the most wonderful guide we have experienced in our many safaris, always surprising you with new things he sees and finds in the field. Nanette and Abram stop by every day to ask how the day was, and they run a lot of tasks in the background, like building new lodges. The tents are perfect (loved the outdoor shower), and it is lovely to enjoy the dinner in the main lodge. We took many great photos and we will definitely be back. This family and their camp is just one of the most amazing and positive experiences we have experienced in all of South Africa.

Conde Nast Luxury for at affordable prices makes this stay a real winner. We just had an amazing time at the Garden Route Safari Camp *rewilding* project above Mossel Bay; these ppl are so generous with their love for animals and people it was humbling. Super knowledable family team abram knoetze & his endearing evangelist son Stephen are just a joy to listen to as they share their extensive knowledge. Ireland is known for it’s warm welcome but I think we just lost the trophy to these guys, esp mom Nanette, the comms & event wizard and the lovely talented Unelle. We miss you all already.
