This lovely guest house is within 2 minute walk of a fabulous beach. One day I shared the huge expanse with 2 fishermen the next I walked up the river with the birds, just beautiful. The hosts are extremely helpful and booked us trips to the local game reserve, just fabulous and shark diving, amazing.
The rooms are comfortable with plenty of storage and good ensuite. There is a lounge with Tv and free WiFi.
The rooms are off a veranda with table and chairs to sit which is lovely.
There is plenty to do in the area and we could have stayed longer.
Good free breakfast this place is a real bargain.

On the way from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town we stayed 1 night at little brak beach house. Unfortunately the time there was too short, we would have loved to stay longer because it was just beautiful. Its a little bit outside from Mossel Bay, but with a car it isn't far away. Moreover the location is a quiet and secure little locality. The outside area and also the whole house look very neat and we felt welcomed immediately. The room with TV and bathroom were also very clean.
The owners were so cordially and helpful and they even told us a very nice route to go to Cape Town.
Breakfast is included and they have got a common kitchen.
We would return to this guesthouse at all times!

The area is nice, and its a short walk to the beach. The rooms were alright, we stayed for two nights. What we did not like was that the room was not cleaned after our first night, we didnt even get clean towels.

Hi there, Just want to address some of the points you brought up. Firstly the rooms are serviced every 2nd day for guests staying more than 2 nights, unless the guest specially requests his room to be serviced every day. If you wanted your room serviced and fresh towels after your first night, we would have gladly done this for you. You could have just asked. The other thing I don't understand is when you checked out, you shook my hand and told me that you had a pleasant stay. None of this was ever mentioned. Instead you decided to write a bad review. We strive to give our guests a high standard of accommodation at affordable rates. Other guests have rated us very highly, giving us great feedback and excellent reviews. I'm very sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay. Kind Regards Philip Neethling

We stayed here for two nights and loved it! We had a lovely room with an ensuite, and a balcony area where we sat for evening drinks. The kitchen and lounge were spacious and clean and Philip our host very helpful with suggestions on what to do. It was very reasonable with breakfast included and we would definitely go back again.
The only drawback is that the local restaurant had closed, so it was takeaway pizza one night and cooking the other, unless you want to drive.

We stayed at Little Brak for 2 nights. It's a lovely little guest house that is quiet and clean. The location is in a small town that is about 15 minutes drive from Mossel bay which has a few restaurants and places to go. The guest house is a short walk away from the beach / river mouth which is a lovely places to go / take pictures. The room we had didn't have wifi which was the only thing I wish it did. This place is a bit too quiet and isolated for me but it's perfect if you are looking for peace and serenity

Rude email stating that we had not confirmed or paid a deposit therefore cancelled room despite us emailing confirmation - rang to discuss and reconfirm. Peter tried to put us off by listing disadvantages of place. Then rang back saying we could not wait at the place on check out for bus to pick us up. Clear he did not want our booking so we decided to go elsewhere. Since we are camping over Xmas along the garden route we were looking forward to 3 sleeping in a bed in a nice location. Obviously we were not good enough for this place or he just had a better offer.

Dear Sue, We are sorry that you feel that we didn't want to take your booking. This is definitely not the case. When you made your booking through the website, the nightsbridge booking system automatically forwarded you all the relevant information like deposit details, directions etc. I did send an email to you confirming that I had received your booking for a double en-suite room from 16-19 December 2013. As this is our busiest time of the year, bookings work on a first come first serve basis. No booking is confirmed without the client making a 50% deposit. The client is normally expected to make the deposit within the same day of making the booking. If they have a problem with making the deposit, the client normally sends and email explaining the problem and we do our absolute best to accommodate them. I waited 2 days for you to send me an email, to confirm your booking, but had no response or feedback. 2 days later, I sent an email saying that I had received no response or feedback in regards to the booking and had to cancel it. The email I sent was not meant to be rude, just confirmation that your booking was cancelled. I received a call from your husband Peter a few minutes later saying that you had a bad internet connection at the establishment you were staying and were unable to reply to my emails. He told me that he wanted to rebook the room said that you will be arriving on the Baz Bus. I tried to explain that we had a big group of guests arriving at 13:00 on the 19th December, who had block booked the entire establishment, including all the communal facilities, which guests normally make use of while waiting for the bus. The bus only arrives between 14:30- 15:30. I explained to him because the group of guests had block booked the whole place, they couldn't be expected to share the the kitchen, lounge and communal facilities, while they were waiting for the bus. Peter said that he understood and would try and book accommodation at another establishment. I am truly sorry if we have caused you any inconvenience. I think that this unfortunate situation was caused from a lack of feedback and communication. Kind Regards Philip

Very clean and spacious room and bathroom - very helpful owners - well equipped kitchen with a nice community living room. Without doubt a nice place to stay. The beach in walking distance is inviting and the restaurant nearby is really worth a visit!

We just came back from South Africa and we stayed for 2 nights in the Little Brak Beach House. The rooms and the bathrooms are very spacious and clean. There is a great garden where you can use the grill for a wonderful braai, great included breakfast and wifi, well equipped kitchen and the house is located only a few minutes from the beach. Phil and his mother Julia are very friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our stay here. A big THANK YOU for your hospitality!

This is a perfect location if your just looking to chill and do nothing. We stayed here for 4 nights in early July which is winter time here. Thankfully the weather was lovely in the day so we went for really long walks along the beach and spotted a couple of whales not far from the shore which was fantastic. Although Julia and phil do not offer a shuttle service ( which is a shame) you can get a cab to Mossel bay for 150 rand each way.
The ensuite rooms are lovely and we found phil and Julia really friendly and accommodating.
The train station is now a restaurant and pub which are really cute :) and we were lucky to have Sunday lunch here which was amazing :)
