My Husband and I stayed here for three nights at the beginning of November and we had the most wonderful time ever. All of the staff were fantastic, all very friendly, smiley and helpful, they just could not do enough for you - in a very lovely and sincere way.

We saw so many beautiful animals whilst on the Game Drives, they were beautiful and it was a lovely experience to see them.

Our Game Drive Guide was Mandela and he just made our holiday for us. He is a super man. He is obviously an extremely knowledge and clever chap who takes the safety and care of the animals as a priority, but even more so, the safety and wellbeing of his passengers even more so. His sense of humour was wonderful and we just could not have asked for a better person to guide us on our Game Drives.
His humour, jokes and gin & tonics were all very very well received. If ever any of the passengers had a request to see a particular animal, they would ask at the beginning (or even during or at the end) of the Game Drive and Mandela would do his very best to ensure we got to see whatever we really wanted to - he was very good and finding the animals - he truly was at one with them. He was full of very good stories and anecdotes too which we all loved listening too.
I loved the doormat in Reception which says "Don't be sad it is over, just smile it happened" - I have to keep remembering this as I was very very sad to leave - these few days before we continued our holiday in Cape Town were the best few days holiday I have ever had.
The whole place was beautiful and the silence and calm around the place just made it such a great place to chill and relax.
The food was lovely and the service. Breakfast was very very nice, all cooked to order, no huge queues or huge enormous amounts of food that is going to be wasted or served the next day - it was just so perfect, lots of choice of good food. We loved it.
Dinner was excellent too - we went to The Village on our 2nd and 3rd nights too which was also very good.
We went outside on to the terrace and were taught how to drum one evening, around a pit fire, it all added to the wonderful experience.
Our room in the Manor House was lovely and swimming in the swimming pool just outside our room and seeing herds of Wilderbeest and Zebras just turn up whilst you are swimming or sunbathing was just so exciting.
I loved the scenery - I loved everything about it here............... can you tell?
Most of all I loved Mandela, he is a true gent, funny, professional, knowledgeable - everything that made our stay at Botlierskop perfect, thank you Mandela ............................. we will be back ................ perhaps this time with my daughter :) :)
Thank you Botlierskop
with very best wishes Sue and Lane Jones

We stayed for 2 nights and did 4 game drives - 2 early morning and 2 in the afternoon - all different and all interesting. We saw all the main animals at different times - and it was amazing. Our guide was Simba who was so knowledgeable and keen for us to see as much as possible. Even when it rained we had a great ride & saw the lions hunting wildebeest which was quite an experience. We stayed at the Manor House which was lovely. Food was great. A really lovely stay - thank you!

We had 2 game drives, each in a different part of the reserve and we managed to see all the animal species that roam the land - giraffes, impalas, springboks, elephants, rhinos, lions and hippos - although the latter were only visible by eyes and ears! We stayed in a room in the manor house which directly overlooked the reserve. As we were only there one night, we certainly could have made better use of the other facilities, but there wasn't time. As for the food, it was excellent. We are happy to recommend Botlierskop.

Incredible stay, and very surprising place just minutes from the garden route. This is a big hotel with diferent acomodation. They have a tent, a manor house, a "village" and some villas. I've been in the manor house, and it was perfect, because is just near the main lodge, where we get in touch with other guests and go to pool / restaurant. They have such an attention with the guests and are very prepared to receive. It seens they are improving the facility, and letting even more great. I had 2 safari, and loved them. The only animal that we didn't saw it was the hippo (they hide in the swamp), and a very few buffalo. The lions were eating in the bush, so it was difficult to see, but we get very close to it, and it was possible to hear the breathing, and you feel so "in the wild" with this experience. I had the horseback safari, and this one it was the only thing that i didn't like, because i just saw a zebra, they didn't take me to where we see more animals, so they could sell the program with just the name of horseback ride (it was not a safari). Me and my wife loved the massage we arranged there after the safari. And we would like to thank Mr. Simba, who guided us on the safari tours. And mr. mandela, who helped us with the luggage and the room rides. Everything was very pleasant. Will recomend to friends and family

Stayed for 2 nights as part of our holiday but for my wife's birthday and her wish to see Giraffes up close and free. Our arrival was as described and we were shown to the villas by one of the Rangers. The villa was luxurious with beautiful bedrooms and a patio and plunge pool overlooking a small lake. We had booked an afternoon Game drive and was promptly picked up by Reina our ranger. We spent to next 4 hours touring to Reserve and were lucky enough to see White Rhino Elephants Bonteboks Hippos Zebras and a host of other wonderful animals. It all felt natural and not staged in any way. We saw Giraffe and 3 lions but these were from too far away. But we weren't too upset as we knew we had another game drive the following day. Our evening was complimented by Gin and Tonics on a hill overlooking the Elephants and a most beautiful Oak tree(like the one at Disney the tree of life). Reina was very helpful and informative. Great experience. Dinner that night was a B-B-Q or Braii as they call it. we provided the meat they provide the Braii and all the equipment. We were joined for dinner by some Elan at the waterhole. Early morning Game drive with Johann. This guy knew his stuff, This drive was even more special as we saw up close a single Giraffe and Johann was happy to stay while we watched for an age. Next the 3 lions, again up close as we watched them eat and play. We couldn't have asked for 2 better Game drives. The stay was finished off with a great meal in the Village restaurant, the staff were amazing and the Giraffe Birthday cake that chef made was awesome. We had a wonderful time and I would definitely recommend Botlierskop as part of any trip to the Garden route. It was perfect in every way, Thank you

Smart casual is completely fine. You’re quite secluded from city life and everyone is aware of that, so it’s relaxed but smart enough to ensure you know you’re out!
