It's a very practical place for a stopover, but I wouldnt choose this accommodation for a longer stay as it lacks a few finishing touches that could make the place really comfortable.

The self catering kitchen needs an update of some of its equipment and our sliding bathroom door was not working. I particularly chose the accommodation because I love a swim after a long drive and the pool was green. I was told it was swim able but it looked very unappetising. The layout of Eland and the adjoining room was spacious and practical and the beds were comfortable and clean.

We are well aware that Graaff-Reinet is a water scarce town. We were surprised that there were no notices in the accommodation to this effect and whether there were any special instructions. We were even more surprised when we received no info from the guesthouse when the town cut the water supply the next morning - not the guesthouses fault but at least let the guests know what is going on. They kindly connected tank water for us and again didn't communicate and let us know that it was up and running.

Breakfast was pleasant - not a huge range to choose from but perfectly sufficient.

As one reviewer said, you get what you pay for, but a few updates and proactive communication would make it better.

Lovely accommodation just on the outskirts of town. Bedroom had everything we needed including a bar fridge. If you are wanting to use the braai facilities you will need to take your own plates and cutlery.

Great room (stayed in the twin), but there is no divider between the room and the bathroom. Something to keep in mind if you are sharing with someone where privacy is needed.

Awesome friendly reception from Michelle. Helped us find parking for our two big double cabs with bikes etc. Offered us the owners garage.

Room super clean with Aircon. Much needed as the temp is just shy of 40 degrees outside.

Kids wanted to swim and she organized towels.

Came to call the kids so that they could see the koi fish being fed.

Much appreciated. This is a great midway stopover. We always book here, the service is great, good breakfast and very clean. Great value on top of it all!

Room is dirty, not clean plates, linen was dirty, the owner knew about water problem but did not inform us. The main gate open and closed by hand, we did not feel secure.
We will never stay here again.

Booked and paid for two single rooms for two dates based on their webpage. We warned of late arrival, and that we had a big panel van and trailer and therefore need ample parking space. At the venue, there were no lights in the parking area, and no directional signage to the rooms. The initial impression was not too bad, however, the mattress was lumpy, mosquito's in the room, the shower disgusting, the TV screen was really small ( 23" I think ). We were charged R500+ for each room !

Thanks for the great service Loraine. I do however not know where the 3 stars come from. It’s clean but I think Springbok should rather read Goat. The door to the bathroom does not cover the doorway so you are exposed to all when you use the toilet. There is no table or chair and nowhere to put your stuff; everything has to packed out on the floor.

Comfortable rooms. White linen. Piping hot water. DSTV for the kids. On the edge of town with safe secure parking. Air conditioned rooms. Brilliant breakfast (Loann is amazingly). We will definitely stay here again.

They have braai facilities and plenty of outdoor picknick benches. Rooms have a full size fridge and freezer and a kettle.

Very friendly accommodating manager.

Dinner just down the road at Polka ..be sure to book. They get really busy in holidays.

We spent the night here en route to Johannesburg. Service was extremely friendly, room was great - equipped with fridge (with ice, which was a nice touch), microwave and kettle. The only problem was the water pressure in the shower - it was almost non-existent.

Breakfast the following morning was great - a buffet with toast, cereal etc and cooked breakfast (bacon, egg etc) to order.

Great environment, there's a pool (which we didn't use so I can't comment on it), space to sit outside, braai area etc.

The wi-fi code was prominently displayed in the room - which always makes life easier.
