As a first post lockdown holiday we couldn’t have chosen a better place.
Surrounded by the wild and endless Karoo, this lodge has all the comfort you need and perfectly fits with the environment: spacious and comfortable, each cottage is equipped with a fireplace for the cold nights. The common area includes an amazing infinity pool opening on a wide horizon, a spacious living room with a nice fireplace and an external braai area.
But this would be nothing without the excellent service level that Kat is providing to her guests. She is happy to help you in all the possible ways, always present but never intruding. She helped us reaching safely the lodge and organising our days to enjoy in full our experience, giving all the right suggestions and trying to satisfy all our request.
Not to talk about the succulent food she and the staff prepared for us... I am still dreaming about the karoo lamb chops on the braai...
Unmissable the boma dinner: a braai dinner around the fire while staring at the sky full of stars...
Every detail is looked after to ensure you are having an unforgettable experience. My only suggestion is to go and relax as you will receive one of the best hospitality service ever!

We visited with friends and their family for 3 days in January a they kindly invited us, and wow, what a place and what an experience, memories made! Firstly the setting is so beautiful, peaceful, and just wow - acres and acres of beautiful land filled with wildlife, every day the views and silence blew my mind. We stayed in one of the gorgeous chalets, so cosy, rustic but everything you need and super clean and comfortable. Makes you really feel at one with nature. The food is amazing - Katy and Rachel along with Shelley create the perfect menu no matter what meal time it is, or even afternoon tea before the drive... the food was delicious with fresh local ingredients, mostly the local game! The pool is a bonus, a beautiful infinity pool where you can chill in between drives, lounge in the sun or shade and enjoy a drink served to you from the bar. The view is spectacular! We did two drives a day and had drinks at sundowner in a different beautiful remote spot each night, stunning. Both drives were full of wildlife, antelope, zebra, giraffe, buffalo and wilderbeast. Stiaan the game manager is so knowledgable and amazing at what he does, made every drive special as well as the trackers that came out with us from the village, Ivan, Reuben and I think maybe Rory? All were so good at what they do, and know the animals inside out. It is worth a visit to the village too, where the farm workers live and has newly built homes and a church for the residents, it was lovely to see! Shelley was a fantastic front of house, always looking after us with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. A welcome after every drive! And the breakfast in the bush during one drive was very special, as was an evening meal in a beautiful bush spot too! Kat the game reserve manager was lovely and friendly and again, super helpful and knowledgeable and made our stay a wonderful one. So many memories made, what an incredible experience in the most beautiful of spots. Thank you Team Glen Harry!

We stayed on the way to the garden route in Pepper Tree Cottage for just one night and were so impressed we decided to extend our return journey to take in an extra couple of nights at Glen Harry. The drive from the gate is circa 45 mins on gravel roads and best in a 4x4 or SUV, 2 wheel drive is no problem but definitely not a low down sports car. It’s a great adventure itself through scenic veld and over dry river beds.
Everything about the lodge is excellent from the greeting of Kat and the team to the accommodation, the food and the unrivalled setting.
The food is exceptional and we can’t recommend the Boma dinner enough, particularly as it followed a lovely sundowner game drive.
Glen Harry should certainly be on your list of stop off points whilst passing through the Karoo. We look forward to returning again. Rich, Jo and Erin

We had a great experience at the accommodation.
After arriving, they offered nice lunch, which was Kudu meat wrap, immediately and after that we enjoyed the pool for long time. The pool was very deep, maybe 3 meters high, so our 9-year-old daughter enjoyed diving for long time.
From 5:30, they offered a game drive and we joined it. Actually, I was worried that my daughter would have got boarded the drive with less animals. However, she enjoyed the rough road driving on the safari car so much. She described it was as if she was on a ride in an amusement park. The Boma was so ambient and food was great!
What I really amazed with this accommodation was the hospitality of the hostess Kat. She was so nice and sincere.
I definitely recommend this accommodation for people especially who are going to Garden route from Joberg.

What an amazing experience we had at Glen Harry. From the moment we made the booking until we left Glen Harry, was just magical - Kat sending us directions to Glen Harry, getting someone meet us enroute to prevent us from getting lost, the reception, hospitality, everything was just exceptional
Kudos to Kat, Ott and the team for the amazing service, great food and the friendliness together with the conversations around the boma whilst having dinner.
We will definitely be back

A dream accommodation in a perfect setting! After an adventurous journey, during which Kat helped us without any complications, we were immediately impressed by the location, facilities and especially the atmosphere of the farm. Great food with an evening campfire and a beautiful pool. The game drive and the game walk with Ott are also highly recommended. Many thanks to the warm host family!! A really great place for a break and to enjoy the peace and nature!

Our family and friends took over all the units at Glen Harry for a long weekend and had a time that will stay in our memories for years. Everything about the place just worked together to create such an enjoyable and fun experience. Firstly, the scenery and setting are outstanding. Then the accommodation units are inviting and well appointed. The boma and lounge / kitchen areas were great for evening get togethers around the fire and the swimming pool and deck were a treat during the day. Finally, the staff take a genuine interest in their guests and make sure everything runs smoothly.

Sadly only had 2 nights in Pepper Tree cottage, the self catering option. Very well thought out accommodation for 2 couples, comprehensive honesty bar, small pool & good outdoor furniture & sitting out area. Very well equipped & good wifi. Great campfire area & braai. The main lodge was close enough to walk to (15 mins), stunning scenery & lots of game but as no cats it is very safe to walk around. Great service at the lodge for drinks & supper both nights & superb food. Special mention to the farm manager who took us on a couple of drives & supervised the shooting activity, & Melissa who also looked after us. A beautiful property.

An incredible place if you take some time to immerse yourself in it. Stay a little longer and you will experience the team, light, landscape, wildlife, sunrises and sunsets, accommodation, etc. at their highest potential. We were there for 4 days and literally fell in love with this place and the vastness of the Great Karoo. Kat, Ott and the whole team are wonderful hosts. You can literally feel the very good vibration between each other. The reserve is also a great role model in terms of this concept. We found it very positive that you can move freely around the entire farm on foot and by mountain bike, as well as the permanent use of the large pool and all the amenities in the base station (we had the Peppertree Cottage with self-catering). Good binoculars are very helpful, photographers need a very good lens and patience. Almost all the animals had a healthy escape behavior. Thank you very much for unforgettable days.

The Pepper Tree cottage is set in a beautiful location with a lovely fireplace and plunge pool. The braai-yourself option was delicious and great value for money. Pretty, easy 5km walk to the windmill is a must!
