Lighting in bedroom 5 at Clifton Manor not very good, bedside lamp more decorative than functional. The service, although we have COVID to think about was great, staff very friendly and courteous.
Will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our one night stay and it is ideal for trips from Gauteng if you need to split your journey to the Cape over two days. We enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and the food was really great!

We booked in at Buccara Wildlife reserve as part of a road trip from the coast to Gauteng. It provided us with a wonderful break. We opted to have the chef, Christopher, prepare our dinner and breakfast rather than use the self catering facility. Christopher scores 10 out of 5 for wonderful service and beautifully prepared tasty food. The lodges are about 10 km from the main tar road along a well kept gravel road. The beautiful, serene, private setting is well worth a visit.

My wife & I stayed there overnight on 21/12/2022 and for what you get, the accommodation and experience is well over priced. At their rates, one would expect a king size bed at the very least. The place has absolutely no feel of being at a 5 star game lodge whatsoever. The gardens were poorly maintained and full of exotic trees that block the views of the beautiful surrounding mountains and natural bush. Guests are not permitted to self drive through the reserve so one would expect at least one game drive per day to be included based on the pricing. If you're happy to stay in an old run down Karoo farm house at these rates, then this is the place for you. Overall, a VERY disappointing experience for my wife & I. Would definitely not recommend or ever return.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review our Wildlife Reserve. We will definitely attend to the concerns mentioned and we are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at Buccara Wildlife Reserve. We hope to have the opportunity in the future to accommodate you again so that you can have the true experience we have to offer. The rooms are all booked as self-catering with the option to use the communal kitchen or braai facilities to cook your own food. We do offer breakfast and dinner as an extra service if the chef is available. We also mentioned this in emails to you and also apologized before arrival day in advance, that our chef was booked out for the dates you stayed over so he will not be able to cook for you that night and offered different options. We do apologize for any inconvenience and we wish you happy and safe travels. Kind Regards,

Our stay at Buccara was truly wonderful and fulfilled many lifelong dreams and many ambitions for all those in our international family group.

From the quality and management of the land, game and supporting wildlife to the hospitality and first-class facilities and housekeeping, we couldn’t fault it. From arrival to departure, we were delighted with the service.

The staff made us feel so very welcome and at home that it was hard to tear ourselves away at the end of our stay, and it’s fair to say that new friendships were built.

When out hunting and game watching, the Professional Hunters and Trackers were incredibly passionate, knowledgeable and patient; each day out, on the game-cart, was a thrilling adventure packed with new experiences.

The game support team were warm and friendly and during the week, worked incredibly hard to ensure that all game harvested was respectfully recovered, and processed and that nothing went to waste.

The catering was faultlessly superb and made especially good by the provenance of the meat, which all came from the estate’s hunting expeditions, including our own.

Well done to Buccara’s estate management skills and to the support and delivery teams that ensure that clients never forget their experiences at this beautiful facility.
