The basics supplied was not bad keeping in mind that the cottages are heritage buildings. We were on a self catering trip and therefore the accommodation fitted in our requirements. All the bell and whistles were in the kitchen for a overnight stay. Dinner and breakfasts were optional which we declined although the Karoo lamb items on the dinner menu wanted me to have dinner there. We however decided on the Spur restaurant which was close-by and ordered Spur burgers which was the best we had eaten in a longtime. Generally a nice stay over place.

Hospitable hosts, that will do their utmost to make your stay relaxing.
There is a pool that is a given, in the dry air of the Karoo.
We ate their lamb shanks which was top notch cooking of the lamb shanks.
Our room was with an on suite bathroom, and with the air conditioner made our stay last through the searing heat of the Karoo.

The cottages / rooms are located in the center of town close to most / if not all of the local attractions and restaurants. The room was further clean and neat.

Side note: there are limited secure parking spots behind the gate and works on a first come serve basis. Should security therefore be a concern for you, arrive early or arrange with management

We always stay at Camdeboo Cottages when breaking our trip to the coast. It is spotlessly clean and offers a good nights rest. This trip the rooms located were a little disappointing as there were some maintenance issues that has been overlooked. The basin tap didnt work and the fridge was not getting cold. Overall Camdeboo offers quaint old world simplicity at an affordable rate.

We had room no 6, an outside, spacious self-catering unit, in a building dating back to the 1800s, with the bedroom facing onto the road. The window could not slide open and the blinds were broken throughout. People spent the night in the street directly outside our window, mumbling through the night. Someone tried the door into the room from the street side. The bed was the worst we have ever had - the mattress was very old and hard as a rock. The taps throughout could not open or close properly. Floors and other areas were grubby. The place was basically unkempt.

It is concerning that staff were unaware of the situation and had clearly not been into the room for some time. They were also unaware (or did not view it as problematic) of the fact that people live on the street right outside those rooms.
In all our travels locally, this was the most disappointing 'overnight' experience we have had.

Absolutely awful just avoid ! Cottages right on the road not secure for a family with young children. No covid protocols, dirty marked towels the floor had not been cleaned and was the floor was full of hair !! My three year old for the first time said the bed was “not comfy” mommy! After such a long drive a really awful experience a storm meant our hallway was flooded with water from a roof leak. The bed linen is old and the beds were probably last made a few weeks ago. When we asked for a a cot we were presented with a health and safety hazard with a dirty old mattress , definitely avoid and rather stay across the road at the hotel .

Great location in the middle of town, easily accessible. Unfortunately that is where it ended.
It felt as though the place was overbooked. There was insufficient space for one to go anywhere other than one's room. They did offer a dinner option which seemed quite nice, unfortunately this too underwhelmed as the food took nearly 3 hours to be prepared/ arrive from the order. The food was very average .
Security also seemed to be an issue, certain rooms were street facing. There were several instances through the night where people knocked on or pulled the window shutters.

We ticked a block staying there and would be hard pressed to return.

We arrived at the unassuming address, but once inside the property we discovered that this was a hidden gem, with a pool, garden, on-site parking, restaurant- and bar service, and extremely helpful and friendly staff. The Guesthouse is centrally located and within easy walking distance from several restaurants and shops. We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked another night on our return journey. Clean, comfortable, and affordable.

I loved the room setup, the service was excellent.
Please note showerhead at unit 14 wasn't the best. Also add a jug of drinking water & a note for key drop-off.

I'd recommend staying at Camdeboo Cottages.

The Staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The unit was pet-friendly and breakfast and dinner was brought to the unit. The unit was very clean and the service from all was very good. I highly recommend Camdeboo cottages and would most definitely stay there again.
