It's a great place for tight budgets. I had on of their small room, which is perfect for a solo traveler or a couple. It's basic, but bed have a good mattress and the place situated in a quiet street so one can get a good sleep at night. Bathrooms could look nicer, but are okay. Staff is helpful and very nice, Abraham for example, shared his dinner with me, which was adorable. The food is also tasty as he's a real chef. Finally, walking distance to the main square and the castle...

Great Value for Budget and Experienced Travelers "I previously stayed at the Addis Guest House for a couple of weeks and was pleasantly surprised. I’ve tried to be as detailed as possible in my review. Positives: 1) Price - One of the best values you can get in the Pizza area of Gonder for sure, with prices between $14-$25 per night (depending on the room). Considering the size of the rooms (which all come with King size beds and Wid rooms), this price puts many of the surrounding Hotels to shame. 2) Location - This Guest House is walking distance to the many Restaurants area of the city center, which means you are very close to restaurants, shops, bars, lounges, sights, and other attractions. There are also plenty of taxis that travel the main road making it easy to go elsewhere as well. 3) Rooms – The room is large enough to accommodate many guests. It included a long Gardens, a love seat, and more arm chairs. There was also a small dining table for two in the front 4) Internet - There was Wi-Fi access from within the rooms. It so strong, it's not go out from time to time (as is common in Ethiopia). A quick call to the front desk will determine if there is anything they can do about it. 5) Restaurant – There is a nice open area on the ground floor. there are experienced chefs who can serve to u with the national dishes and cuesen along with the aroms of Ethiopian coffee in aspectacular sene and view during the mornings 6) Shower – There is a good shower with 24hrs hot Waters showe 7) Room Service – There was adequate room service available for any food or other requests quickly from the friendly Staff's. 8) there is a small Kitchen but they doesn't have a Refrigerator in the Guesthouse for your food and drink items as well as a small kitchen area. 9) More than any places; we have cleaned, pleasant deluxe rooms available in aplace where aspheres of silence ,afresh air breath can be easily cherished in open ;eyes catching wonders of nature in zero cost. Negative: since the place is located and designed with the intention of being environmentally friendly; Services Like refrigerators, alcoholic beverages and other facilities of the cities May not be available there. But we are always ready to serve and provide such facilities to the best interests of our guests. I would high recommend the chief Wondim Guest House for those travelers on a tight budget. It is also a great find for those that are already familiar with the city, plan to spend their time exploring the city, and only need a “home base” to stay in. Why pay for extra amenities that you are not going to use? Stick to the basics; a spacious room with a bed and a clean room. Great Value!!!"

I stayed here for 11 nights (I'm a slow traveller!) and of all the places I stayed in Ethiopia this left the best impression on me. Some of the facilities were basic, the bathroom could be better, but there was always hot water and it was okay. There is no guest kitchen, but the cooked breakfast each morning was very nice. To just sit in the garden there were many interesting birds to watch, and the area was nice. I would say of all my time in Ethiopia this was perhaps my favourite spot. Wondim and Fenta are very relaxed, honest and kind. I didn't see that much of them either, but that's what was cool.... it was just laid back, you can do your own thing comfortably. The housekeeper had such a warm smile each day, it was a very pleasant place to be. I'm very glad I stayed here and would recommend it.

Extremely basic facilities and services, charged very high. I wouldn't recommend it, at least for the price that they ask for. Very basic, it's just to drop for a night. I stayed in some other places in Ethiopia by far better, and much cheaper.

We stayed here two nights. Clean rooms and convenient location - the church is at a walkable distance , as are restaurants. Friendly staff. They have a bonfire on most nights which is great for the cold and for us to meet others . Their breakfast is also great. We had arranged for an airport pickup which happened for a reasonable fee. They also allow storage of luggage which is useful if one is heading for to the mountains.
