This hotel would get a positive review, if only rooms, accomodation, convenience, friendliness and service is taken into account. Everything is there to make this a good value for money. Only this is the second time I stay and again, staff (or other people in the reception area) manage to play loud music at night, having a party?, talking loudly etc...maybe it is when the management leaves, and maybe it is coincidence, but it makes the difference between a good night rest after a long travel and a frustration.

The Airport Hotel is typical of all neglected hotel establishments in Africa - it has a decent amount of trade because of it's location near the airport but is really not a very pleasant place to be. Staff were indifferent and the hotel environment is not very appealing with non-existent wifi and a 'terminal' restaurant/bar. Having said that, the rooms were quite clean and we felt safe enough staying there. It is acceptable for a quick convenient overnight stay but no longer than that! There are much better places available.

This hotel is average and a little strange. After booking a room and looking at it, we left the building to get our luggage out of the car, and the front desk clerk told us to leave our key there. We did not do that, and we got our luggage and put it in our room and left quickly so as not to be asked for our key again. The next morning we went for our complimentary breakfast and were told it was only for one of us. We were booked as a couple. How odd. They charged us an additional 90 pula ($9) for it when we checked out. Would not recommend except if you need to stay to catch an early flight.

Worst place I have ever stayed. Shocking rooms. Rude staff at counter. Housekeeping just walking into the room. Packets of open condoms in draw. If you looking for a place near maun airport if your flight is only next day. Stay as far away from this place as possible.

The check in is a very smooth and easy process, we paid P570 for a room for a night for 2 people. For that you get a clean comfortable room with A/C and wifi and it is all within walking distance of the airport and town. The room has DSTV aswell. Perfect for an overnight stay.

Where do I begin? The passage ways are so cold and uninviting almost as if it were hospital. Found the room to be just alright but then took a closer look. The walls are filthy, there are holes in the walls, wifi password is scrawled on a small piece of paper that was quietly given in the room, the bed side drawer is filed with condoms(giving the idea of a quick hook up hotel, we did hear moans coming from down the hall), staff that just barge into the room without knocking, cold bland oily food which took hours to arrive at the room and rude reception clerk. The only reason anyone should stay here is if they really had no choice as it is very conveniently located across the airport. Will never stay here again!

This hotel has so much potential with its location but sadly it seems to be a hookup hotel for sex workers.
We had a night of listening to the same woman "acting" out her sexual moans with different men arriving and leaving.
When my husband confronted staff about it and asked them to please deal with the situation they just laughed it off.
Absolutely disguisting.

Maun Airport Hotel has everything to make it a destination of choice in Maun for a discriminating traveller. The close proximity to the airport and good infrastructure of the facility only need to complemented by good business management.

Upon arrival at Maun Airport on the morning flight I searched for customary hotel shuttle and eventually decided to lug my light travel bag and walked to the hotel. The hotel receptionist apologized that the shuttle operator had been late for pick up.

Having checked in earlier than those who'd waited for transport, I was fortunate to get a room immediately, which was of average acceptable standard with standard room amenities. Exception -- hot beverage utensils were missing despite a full receptacle of hotel room beverage sachets. Utensils were delivered 30 minutes after I'd placed the request for replacement, alas, without the kettle !!!

Lunch time. Getting a table in the restaurant was quite an ordeal as I had to answer questions such as What company was responsible for my bill, What workshop was I attending, etc., non of which questions I saw had any relevance to my need to satisfy my desire to eat. The interrogator disappeared when I failed the test. When I was eventually directed to a table by another restaurant staffer, the buffer service was over. Ala carte service was the only option and the order would only be ready after 30 minutes.

For the night the room was pleasantly warm as Maun was unusually chilly. I had a good night rest and was looking forward to an early start to Ghantsi by road. But there was no hot water and taking a cold shower was unthinkable. The maintenance person, I was later informed, had omitted to reopen the hot water tap after fixing the geyser the previous day. Further, the restaurant was still closed 7 am although I was informed service starts 6.30 am. The 'innkeeper' had taken the kitchen keys home and was late!

I had intended to use the hotel as my base as my itinerant work program required me to travel around within the Ngami area. I was happy to check out that morning and, fortunately, I had my reservation confirmed immediately at another hotel in town.

The issue is not with Maun Airport Hotel -- the problem is with the management of the facility, unless one is comfortable with mediocre accommodation establishments services. I may go back there only for nights' sleep if that service area does not deteriorate. As for recommending it to other people -- visit at your own risk.

Don't expect 5-star treatment and you'l be fine. More than adequate for an overnighter. Comfortable bed, good and clean bathroom. Ok food at the in-house restaurant. I checked in around 9pm and it worked very well for me for a morning air transfer. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Even though my booking was confirmed by email many days before, the airport pick-up did not arrive. Fortunately a staff from another hotel helped me phone the Airport Hotel and the transport arrived shortly. FYI. Airport transfers are free.

The location is very good - about 800m away from the airport, so you can walk it (provided you travel light) if the transport doesn't arrive. This is the closest hotel to the airport. The hotel is right opposite the airport area where charter aircraft are parked.

We booked one night through Expedia, when we arrived there was no booking although I had a confirmation email. Miraculously when we went to check out, there was a booking form all filled out for us to sign.
We were given room 33. Clean, but extremely rundown. This hotel is in dire need of an upgrade. The door didn't shut properly, though did lock. The shower was tiny. The aircon leaked water all down the curtains and flooded the floor.
Service was ho hum. All in all not a great experience.
Definitely will not return.
