We stayed at the Waterfront on the first and last night of our safari tour and will do so again on our next trip to the area.
The hotel is about 10 minutes' drive from Maun, wonderfully quiet on the river. The rooms are extremely spacious and all have a terrace or balcony with a view of the river. There are comfortable beds, a walk-in shower, a fridge with a freezer compartment and the option to make coffee (French press) and tea.
Patrick and Heather and all the staff we met are warm and helpful hosts. Patrick organized a very reliable taxi driver for us who drove us to dinner and back as we had already returned the rental car and to the airport the next day.
Payment was easy to make to Patrick when we checked out. There is a very good breakfast with homemade bread and cakes and very good coffee.
In the evening you can sit around the campfire and enjoy a drink from the honesty bar provided at a reasonable price. This is how we imagine the start and end of our vacation.

Having lived in Maun 33 years ago, we were very excited to be back! We stayed in the Waterfront for one night as part of a longer tour of northern Botswana and Zimbabwe. Patrick was a fantastic host with a great attention to detail and prepared to help with whatever we needed - we really appreciated the recommendation for our dinner in town! The rooms are spacious and spotless and the breakfast was delicious - a special shout out to Patrick's wife who makes all the wonderful different breads on offer! Just a shame we were only there for one night!

A great place to stay while in Maun, a little bit out of town but that's a big plus as it's quiet. Our room was clean and comfortable and had a stoep which overlooked the river. In the room there was a fridge, tea and coffe making facilities, Mozzie spray, soap, shampoo, bubble bath, everything you need really.
Patrick the owner is super friendly and helpful, he has lots of information should you need it.
Breakfast was very good, lots of choice with delicious homemade breads.

You couldn’t go past The Waterfront when looking for your place to stay in Maun. Slightly out of town but easily accessed by car or taxi.
Our room was upstairs with a massive comfy bed and a view of the river (not currently running) from the large balcony accessed by bifold doors. Patrick the owner had kindly put an extra bed in the room for our daughter and we still have loads of space.
The room has tea and coffee facilities and cookies which was lovely in the morning to be able to sit out on the balcony with a hot coffee listening to the birds.
There is an honesty bar so you can help yourself to a wine, beer or spirits and sit around the fire pit after dinner out at one of the nearby restaurants (we really enjoyed Okavango Brewery!)
Breakfast was a delicious spread of continental meats, cheeses and the best home made breads! Also cereals, yoghurt fruit and juices. Even home made marmalade! You’re very spoilt for choice and can while away an hour on the deck enjoying breakfast and watching the little birds in the garden.
Patrick went above and beyond when our flights changed on our way back from the delta. We were supposed to spend another night in Maun but needed to get on a flight to Joburg straight away. The staff quickly got our suitcases into a taxi from the lodge to airport in a very timely fashion! We really appreciated this.
Would definitely recommend The Waterfront to family and friends.

We stayed here before and after our trip deep into the delta, and felt at home right away: a terrace to our room with beautiful views of the river, tea facilities and even homemade cookies at our disposal. The owner Patrick arranged transport to the airport or dinner and accommodated all our needs. He made sure we were ready for the wilderness and took care of any ailments afterwards like anti-dehydration medication. Breakfast was delicious with among others lots of different homemade breads & marmalade and the best cappuccino in Botswana! We can definitely recommend this nice and hospitable hotel. Thank you, Patrick!

This is a nice hotel in a quiet area not too far from the restaurants and airport.
Room was clean and large with hot water in the shower. Wi-Fi worked well in the communal area.
Efficient laundry service.
Patrick was helpful in organising the airport pick up and has a local taxi driver that can take you to/ from restaurant which worked really well.
Breakfast was continental which was acceptable, breads, yoghurts, boiled eggs, fruits plus an honesty bar is a nice touch.

we stayed two nights at the Waterfront Maun. We didn't imagine it was such a beautiful place. View of the Thamalakane River at sunset, very comfortable rooms. The place is located 10 minutes drive from the city center, very quiet, still well connected (if you don't have a car Patrick - the owner helps you organize taxi transport). Breakfast was fabulous with homemade jams and bread. we just hope to return soon.

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved the waterfront. The rooms were lovely and clean, and had the best views of the river. We were in a 1st floor room with a balcony on which you could watch all the river activity - lots of birdlife. :)
We stayed there at the beginning of September and unfortunately only had 1 night but would have loved to stay longer. The staff were really friendly and helpful, lovely pool area, breakfast was great and they had the best banana cake I've ever eaten, with the exception of my mums. But it was on a parr.
When booking we organized a transfer from the airport to the Waterfront and that was all perfect. Someone was at the airport when we arrived and they were also able to transfer us to our next hotel the following morning at a time that suited us.
We would recommend a stay here to anyone. Thank you to everyone in the Waterfront, you made our first day and night in Botswana an absolute treat!

We had 2 nights at The Waterfront during a recent camping safari and cannot speak highly enough of the accommodation and staff. The rooms were just lovely with a balcony overlooking the river, tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge and a comfortable bed, complete with hot water bottles if required! There is a lovely outdoor pool but it was a bit too chilly to use it during our stay which was a pity. The continental breakfast was superb with so many choices, particularly the selection of breads available and we felt we really didn't do it justice! However, the best thing about The Waterfront is Patrick the owner. He's such a lovely man, very helpful, caring and considerate and a really interesting man to talk to. It really was a pleasure to spend time with him and his team. We will certainly stay at The Waterfront again if we are ever in Maun,

We stayed here on the last night of our trip. We both loved it. Right by the river with beautiful l gardens - designed to encourage the local birds and wild life. Rooms large and clean and air conditioned - which having been in the delta averaging 41 degrees with not even a fan was very welcome! Be aware there is no on site restaurant so you have to go into Maun to eat in the evening or arrange home delivery. This just added to the experience for us but others might want to be aware. A special shout out to Lesego, Ray and Obi who were all just lovely.
