Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Well maintained and friendly personnel. Reasonably priced. Great fireplace for a braai with excellent braai pack. Children enjoyed the bird watching guide and to walk around the area.

Hello 618corne, Thank you so much for your very high rating of us here at Woodlands Stop Over & Lodge. We are so thrilled to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us and that you found the staff to be friendly and keeping the establishment looking like it does. It is a safe place for children to be able to explore a little and discover some new things! Glad you enjoyed relaxing around the braai area with an 'excellent' braai pack! Trusting, also, that the rest of your trip through Botswana was good, safe and memorable? We hope to see you back again soon? Kind regards, Mike & Anne West (Owners)

As always Woodlands delivered excellent service and amenities to end off our trip through Botswana.
It is always a tranquil place to stay after an arduous trip through the Okavango Delta. We had pre-ordered meals which were ready when we arrived. Thank you once again for a lovely experience.

The unit was clean but looked like it hadn't been updated for a long time. We happened to spend a night in one of the Riverview unit during a very cold period and there were no heaters or air conditioning. There was also a power cut and it took quite a while for a staff member to bring us a battery operated lamp.

Hello proux722272 Thank you for taking the time to rate and review us here at Woodlands Stop Over & Lodge. So glad that you found the unit clean but sad that in your opinion the room was 'tired'. Maintenance and renovations continually take place at Woodlands and in fact we are well known for the high levels of maintenance. So sorry about the power outage which is actually an unusual occurrence here in Botswana. The power supply to our business is not sufficient enough to have air-conditioners or heaters operate in the rooms. We do, however, trust that the rest of your trip through our beautiful Botswana was indeed a happy and memorable one and that you will be back again to visit? Kind regards, Mike & Anne West (Owners)

We recently completed a motorcycle trip from Cape Town to Dar Es Salaam and chose Woodlands as our stopover in Botswana. what a great decision! The rooms were spacious and clean and well equipped. We found the staff very friendly and accommodating.
The directions to get there are easy to follow and the road is not an issue. At reception they have a little shop that is well stocked with everything you might need. Definitely worth a stop, even for a few days if you like.

Really enjoyed our stay here. It is so nice and peaceful, the self catering room is equipped with everything you need.
Would like it though if there were budget room options as we only stay for a quick stop over while on the way to Zambia or SA. But for someone staying longer it is definitely worthwhile!

Good morning Lindilia, So thrilled to receive such a high rating and lovely review of us here at Woodlands Stop Over & Lodge. Trusting that you will always use us as your accommodation of choice as you travel backwards and forwards to Zambia. We do have budget rooms but sadly they have remained closed since "the gap year" 2020. We are still operating on a minimum staff compliment and waiting for the travel industry to fully recover before re-opening. Please check when you come through again-- things change! We do look forward your future visits! Kind regards, Mike & Mike West (Owners)

As per my previous experience, it was a delight to be looked forward to at the end of the day. Clean, well appointed, spacious, quiet and well laid out. Walking in the river bed in the evening was most pleasant.
As an observation, the kitchen sink exudes an somewhat unpleasant odour.
The smaller shower heads could do with some maintenance as they seem to spray more on the join than through the shower holes.
Otherwise, I will always make this lodge my number one stop over.
Thank you for the experience.

Good day MichaelLGames Thank you so much for taking the time to rate and review us, Woodlands Stop Over & Lodge here on this forum. We are thrilled to hear that you look forward to your stays with us and thank you for making us your choice of accommodation! We accept your comments about the odour from the kitchen sink and the lime on the shower heads. Our maintenance and house keeping teams have been informed of your comments and the tasks to rectify the situations have been undertaken. We, however, do have little cards in each room asking for valued comments (such as these). They get collected by the housekeepers the following day and this makes for much speedier attention to be given to problems such as these. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future. Kind regards, Mike & Anne West (Owners)

Yes its a little out of town but well worth the short drive. The Manager Sunet yet again went beyond the norm to help with vehicle issues. The frozen meals are always good value. Fir me a big plus is that they allow my dogs.

The campsites and ablutions are really very nice. However they are very close together - your neighbour is about 5 metres away. We had the unfortunate situation of a group of 12 French tourists with children and their guide pitching their camps right next to us. Although the rules are no radios or music they played music for about an hour until we requested the guide in a discreet manner (not to embarrass him in front of his guests) to turn off the music at 8.15pm. He then shouted abuse at us saying 8,9 or 10 o'clock what does it matter? I then had to have an argument with him that there is no music allowed at any time. This spoilt our stay. Then when this group left the toilets had not been flushed with No.2 in them and the toilet seats were full of urine. So although Woodlands itself was great through no fault of theirs we had a bad experience.

Hello ottomark, Thank you so much for taking the time to rate us so highly and for documenting your experience here at Woodlands in so much detail! We have made a note of all you have said and meetings have been held with the staff to better address the issues which should NOT have arisen at all. Our standards are extremely high and we take pride in offering, what we believe, to be a reputably GOOD PRODUCT. I do wish you had brought it to the managements attention immediately in order for us to have dealt with the problem at hand with the individuals directly and promptly. ( I am writing to them as well) We do, however, apologise for the disappointing experience and only hope that it will not put you off re-visiting Woodlands Stop Over & Lodge again? Kind regards, Mike & Anne West (Owners)

Woodlands was the perfect stopover on a long road trip with our two dogs. Clean, peaceful and calm! Just what we needed. The only small thing that could be improved upon is the internet speed. The ladies waited for us and used their initiative to move us to another unit a distance from where another family with a dog was to stay!

Good day mfrost2021, Thank you so much for taking the time to rate and review us here at Woodlands Stop Over & Lodge. So very happy to hear that the stop meets your needs both for your precious furry little animals as well as a reasonable travelling distance from the start of your journey. We do all work hard to try and maintain the peaceful, clean anmd tanquil setting that you found it to be in and appreciated so much! Sorry about the internet speed-- we have a 20MB supply but also find that it can be affected by weather conditions in town, the source, when power outages occur there. So sorry! We do value our staff here so much and they so love being able to offer the best service they can all of the time. They will appreciate your comments about them using their own initiative! Thank you! With much appreciation and kind regards, Mike & Anne West (Owners)

It is very beautiful, calm and relaxing. The grounds are kept very clean, although the grass needed some watering. The ablutions were ok. In the evenings you cannot use the facilities due to all the insects. As soon as you open the shower, there are worms coming from the drain. And the lights attrack all kinds of chemically weaponized insects and a lot of spiders. I am aware of the rain that expedited the insects, just thinking there might be a solution to minimize it.

Good day AdonareAfrica, Thank you for taking the time to rate us so highly and for the lovely review! As you may or may not know, Botswana is experiencing a drought and water shortages have been of huge concern. The monitoring of water usage has been very closely observed so that we were not forced to CLOSE the campsite but instead sacrifice certain areas for water conservation-- hence the lawns and beautiful gardens had to suffer the most. We paint all the external globes a yellow for light pollution and also to attract the flying insects to a minimum without compromising the security of the place. We trust that you will be back again to enjoy the facilities at Woodlands Stop Over & Lodge? Kind regards, Mike & Anne West (Owners) If we were to try and irridicate the insects the birds would be at huge risk of eating the poison that killed the insects and so the vicious circle would continue. We co-exist with and in nature and it will all settle down when the rains return and nature is satisfied again.
