I was in Francistown for a wedding earlier this year and spent about 4 nights at the hotel, along with several other family members.

The positives - the grounds are lovely, nice gardens, interesting lobby, and spacious restaurant. They also have an interesting tower you can climb to the top of to see a great view of the sunrise and sunset. Unfortunately, you get the feeling the hotel is not run by someone who knows what they are doing as the staff are not very well trained.

We had a laugh about the towel situation - each room was only allocated 1 towel and you had to argue for a second towel. These were double rooms were two people staying in them! This didn't just happen to us, but to the rest of our family who were staying at the hotel too. After getting two towels I kept the 'do not disturb' sign on the door for the rest of the trip so they wouldn't be taken and washed and only one towel returned.

We ate a variety of meals in the restaurant over 4 nights and it was extremely hit and miss. The steak was delicious - amazing even. Very well cooked. Too bad the mashed potato it came with was cold and lumpy and the steamed vegetables also cold. The burger patty was so hard and inedible. A good breakfast selection though, with fresh juices, cereals, yoghurts, made to order eggs, beans, bacon etc plus some Botswana basics like pap. Only breakfast downside was there were only about 3 or 4 normal sized bowls. A few mornings I had to eat my cereal out of a coffee mug!

The hotel had 2 weddings while we stayed there. The wedding food was good - more traditional Botswana fare. If your room faces the lovely grounds your room will be noisy until any wedding there finishes. The rooms on the other side of the building overlook the carpark,

The rooms were ok, quite small and looked quite good but the pillows and mattress were not very comfortable. Aircon was noisy. The bathroom is too small and old and the shower didn't look especially clean.

As with the hotel we stayed in at Gabarone, check-in and out was painfully slow.

Overall, it was a stay in a hotel like none other I've ever had. None of the amazing service you get on safari in Botswana, however this place cost nowhere near as much. I hope the hotel invests in some more training for staff and a better chef or better kitchen staff as there is potential here.

Good spacious rooms and good service from staff. I had a problem with smell blowing into the rooms like drain smell. Otherwise a well kept place. Friendly staff from entrance all the way to the restaurant.

We normally use this hotel whilst en route between Zambia and South Africa. The rooms are clean, food is good and staff friendly. Ample parking, even when you are towing a caravan, with security. I would say it was a bit expensive at about $100 per night at one of the small chalets, including a good breakfast, but it is still our preferred stayover venue in Francistown.

I spent two nights in this overpriced hotel. The Wi Fi only works in the reception and even then it was too slow. The air conditioning was so noisy it kept me up at night. The staff was friendly but they seemed disempowered to help clients. The food is was just okay.

I got the Chalets, was rudely awakened by other people early in the morning around 5am, the room did not have wifi, the water did not look clean and the aircon didnt work. The conference room toilets were clean but had a bad smell, the extra blankets provided smelled of cigarettes and the food wasn't nice save for the dessert, the dessert was delicious. Definitely over priced, the staff could also do a better job in terms of responsiveness to customer inquiries. The waiters are quite good and efficient.

Stayed in room 2 and could not sleep well for my 2 days stay since the room is just next to staff room, and there was noise. The way I hate a shower, theirs was worse because a curtain was used instead of a glass. However I went to view the chalets and there were very nice compared to other rooms. Some of the reception workers also have to be taken for customer care courses as they are not friendly to guests, not even a smile. The only beautiful things are the conference rooms and the gardens, wow the environment is beautiful especially for photos. They should also improve their menu

Rooms clean and neat. Only negative was the shower. Curtain shower. No glass. Food and service excellent. Gardens well looked after. Pool was a no go . To many shouting children. Maybe because of the weekend.

Rooms are very small and not especially clean (certainly not worth the price). Bathroom is grim. TV barely works. Aircon sounds like a jet engine. The walls are really thin, you can hear multiple conversations, neighbouring TVs and people in the corridor almost constantly. Wifi is very slow and unreliable. Bed and pillows are very uncomfortable.

The grounds are okay, a lot of construction going on, but the pool area is decent.

Breakfast was very basic (coffee was so bad I started bring my own). Did not bother with dinner.

To top it off, I found an open condom wrapper in the cupboard and immediately checked out and went elsewhere.
