dreadful and expensive hotel next to the main road offers big rooms with spacious bathrooms. Ghost of old times it lurks in every corner. It is not bad as for the african standarts but definitely overpriced (breakfast is not included and cost 30 USD).
It seems to be occupied mostly by the businessmen.
Staff is polite and qite professional but you cant escape this feeling of being a part of an old soup opera movie.

It is easy to see this was once a glorious hotel in its youth, but now it is a little tired. What it lacks for in modern facilities it makes up for in service. The waiter in the restaurant was a very attentive young man, perhaps the best waiter in Africa! Other staff were all very friendly and helpful. A more affordable option for people wishing to see the nearby Great Zimbabwe ruins on a budget. Though the pillows were a little flat and the hot water ran out in the evening (came back the next morning) I would definitely stay here again.

The place is convenient being on the main road and in town BUT the rooms were infested with mosquitoes (could not spray the insecticide provided just before sleeping for obvious health reasons) and no air-conditioning. We asked for air-fans and there was none...rooms were extremely hot.

My encounter with Chevron Hotel was a very delightful and romantic one..We arrived at around 10pm in the evening, and there was someone to assist us with our bags from the car, checking in and to our rooms. The service we got was super excellent. Their rooms have been renovated and are very spacious. What i was really happy about was the fact that parking space was unlimited, great service from their staff and great food.

We had a vehicle breakdown in Masvingo and overnighted at this Chevron Hotel. Our room (room46) was excellent. Room was clean, good decor, nice corner bath, a fridge and dstv. Rate included a good breakfast and Internet was also included. All in all I would recommend staying at this hotel.

First hotel when you enter Masvingo and looks like an ideal option for a late night traveler. Entrance from parking gives impression of a nice patio a cold beer. Old school decor and lacks maintenance in summary of wha to expect. I can understand if a place is old but at least look after it. Bed should have been replaced some time ago and type of guest this hotel attracts is very noisy. Staff were super and really tried hard to me feel welcome and assist me with any information I required. Will not visit again.

Dreadful hotel. Rooms were not clean- dirty sheets and towels, crawling with huge spiders, no shower, toilet stopped working at night, handles on toilet frequently broke and in one room the toilet was constantly running. No safe in the room to lock valuables away. Doors open front and back, day and night so anyone can wander in. The food was inedible. The rooms were not comparable so some had fans and others did not, some had mosquito nets with no holes, others did not etc.

Most importantly the doors did not lock properly- we felt very unsafe.

Some of the staff were attentive as other reviewers have said but this doesn't not make up for the overall dreadful experience.

An absolute rip off.

Stay at one of the hotels nearer to the great zim ruins as they are for a similar price (or cheaper) a much better experience.

We stopped off here for tea, muffins and ice cream at the end of a long drive from Harare. Tweo adults and two kids managed to slake their thirsts and have a snack all for $10 - we were the only customers visible and the service was quick and attentive.

The rooms have improved in a huge way compared to my last visit and the restaurant that used to be a wonder has been turned into some cheap corner restaurant that has it's staff wearing some funny cheap headgear.chevron will never be a competitive site at this rate. The hotel must improve so as to remain relevant.
