Restrained, relaxed, opulence: these are the first words that come to mind. But then I think warmth, friendliness, effortless service. This is the best small hotel I have ever stayed in; a superb location where you can hear the Mediterranean Sea lapping at the shore, looking across the bay to the mountains with the thriving village of Sidi Bou Said only 5 minutes away. Breakfast is delicious with a range of Tunisian specialities, fresh juices and excellent coffee. The whole hotel is filled with beautiful objets d’art, books you can browse in and beautiful spaces to relax in both inside and out. The infinity pool is stunning. Nothing is too much trouble for staff who can arrange everything you might want. With the beach 5 minutes walk down the road, and a range of ancient sites within easy reach this is perfection.

We feel so fortunate to have stayed at Maison Dedine. Rare is the establishment that tops one's lists in almost every category. The photographs attached to these reviews do not do justice to the Maison's beauty. Its location is perfect, its layout is superb, its food is a delicious mix of home-grown vegetables and herbs, traditonal Tunisian delicacies, and French specialities. But it is the staff at Maison Dedine who make the difference. They make you feel like long-missed friends, helpful in every way, and elevate this establishment to one of the very best hotels or inns in which I have had the pleasure to reside. Americans need not worry; the staff is perfectly trilingual (French, Arabic, and English). Truly this must be the best place to reside in or about Tunis, perhaps the entire country - maybe Africa or the world!

I stayed here for 3 nights during Eid time in May and I was so happy I did! There were not many reviews here as I think it opened during the pandemic and its very niche, so I was a little worried as I rely on trip advisor reviews when I book. The pictures do not do this place justice and the extra money was so worth it.

The moment you arrive outside the front you know you are in for a treat! This Property only has 5 rooms, all of which are stunning (as I viewed them all), so have courtyards with views to the Sea, others are literally facing the sea so close you can touch it. The communal areas to hang about are idyllic. The whole place is decorated to perfection, curated with so much style and beautiful artistic flair, you will find it fascinating to explore. Honestly if you appreciate home decor and design this place is a dream, not to mention the pics you can take! Also the breakfast was a really special affair, laid out to perfection it really makes you feel well looked after.

The atmosphere is like home away from home concept, cosy and the staff make you feel so welcome, particularly the manager and deputy manager. They only serve breakfast, but also lots of drinks whenever you want by the pool; magical Tunisian tea at sunset by the pool. I came slightly off season but in the summer I can imagine that pool to be heavenly with such an insane view. The rooms was so tastefully decorated and comfortable, and the snacks they would leave everyday in your room was a nice touch, not to mention delicious.

I cannot say enough good things about this place, there is an uphill walk to the main Sidi Bou Said, about 10/15 mins, but it was good exercise for me, or an excuse for me to just stay and hang around the hotel. The beach is literally 3 mins away too which was very handy. It was a quiet upmarket area and honestly one of the best boutique hotels I've stayed in to date. I can't imagine anyone regretting staying here!

Also the Bolt application was awesome if you wanted to get around town, similar to Uber and so reasonably priced you don't need to walk anywhere if you don't feel like it.

If I could put 0 stars I would. We stayed at this place because we were looking for a getaway and rest. There was no hot water in the room and the minibar did not work. We were given a new room and the time to fix this situation made us lose 1h30 and we had to cancel our restaurant. To apologize, the Pension offered us another place to eat and told us they had booked. When we arrived at the restaurant, there were no reservations in our name. After struggling until 11pm to get something under our teeth, we entered the new room, which reeked of a strong smell of frying. To top it all off, the kitchen, located under our room, made a noise until 3am. We talked to locals who told us that the owners allowed the family to organize festivities on the roof (there are only 2 floors!) hence the noise and smells. We were not the first to complain about it. We haven’t been compensated for all this charade, and the property owner refuses to answer calls, either from us or from Expedia. At this Award, it can easily be called a SCAM!

This is a chic and luxurious stay in Sidi Bou Said. Located on a quiet private portion of the road next to the marina, it's walking distance to the town but set apart and peacefully perched over the sea. The rooms were stylishly appointed with care and attention to quality and details. The staff is lovely and the breakfast is amazing. You can sit inside at the long shared table or take your breakfast at a terrace table looking at the sea and the boats. I would highly recommend Maison Dedine if you want to feel well taken care of in a beautiful boutique environment.

The highlight of our hotel experience in Tunisia and so happy we kept it for the end of our trip! After staying at the Dar El Jed in the beginning and the Anantara Tozeur in the middle, I can honestly say that Maison Dedine beat them both hands down!

For starters, the service is impeccable. We arrived at 2am (due to a 9hr delay from Tunis air in Tozeur) and were greeted with a smile and ushered to our room. The lovely host said “no need for formal check in, you are at home now”. And it’s true, staying at Maidon Dedine feels like staying in a home; a luxurious, amazing one!

The common spaces are amazing and the views are to die for! You are right in front of the sea and with just 5 rooms the place feels very intimate. The pool is sublime and if you want, you can jump in the sea right from the comfort of the hotel.

The breakfast is something to look forward to every day. Just miles ahead of the other hotels and just so well executed.

The owner of the hotel is a decorator and she has a truly amazing eye for detail; everything in the hotel combined luxury and modern elements with traditional Tunisian touches.

All in all I can’t recommend this place enough and would love to come back!

Was so impress to be invited by a good friend for my first time in Tunisia . Love it came with my husband and my daughter for a week holiday . The service is outstanding and the view is breathtaking. Only 5 rooms it’s perfect to get the feeling of owning the place when you take all the rooms . Very quite place to relaxe and the breakfast is to die , So delicious that I have to stop going back to the buffet .

It was a perfect choice to spend our wedding night - I cannot imagine a better place in Tunis.
It is a family-owned villa designed in the smallest detail to perfection.
Beautifully decorated, full of wonderful pieces of art and still cozy and welcoming.

Amazing, friendly ladies who took care of us and made our stay just perfect!

What makes Maison Dedine outstanding is also its location. Right at the sea shore, in a peaceful and beautiful Sidi Bou Said. If you leave the window open for the night, the sound of the waives will put you to sleep...

Breakfast buffet is plentiful and as delicious as you can imagine.

I would like to thank Madame Molka and Madame Sana who were taking care of us. You are the real jewel of this place!

I can’t wait to be back!

my stay at maison dedine is something I will remember for a long time to come - what an intimate stay, exquisite decor, and one of the best breakfast spreads I have seen and tasted in my life.

everything just oozes of high quality and details to attention. big kudos to the maison staff for such an excellent job in delivering the service.

the property is located within the gated community, and one of the perks of staying here is you can drive eastwards, all the way up to the little hill overlooking sidi bou said. there is a small parking lot at the top of the hill.

if I am lucky enough to visit Tunis again, this will be the place I will return to.

Superb boutique hotel in a superb location.

It doesn’t get much better when you wake up and open the curtains to see the sunrise over the sea!

The breakfast is of excellent quality. You share the long table with other guests which makes for an interesting start of the day.

The rooms are superbly decorated with modern art and the beds are comfortable.

But no hotel is perfect and Maison Dedine is no exception: the lights over the washing table are truly insufficient and the noice of the wind during the night was quite strong.

But that was all forgotten when seeing the lovely smiles on the faces of the entire staff!
