This is an amazing lodge in the wetter part of the Okavango Delta. It's not cheap, but worth every penny. We stayed there the 2nd half of April for 4 nights, just as the water started to enter this part of the delta.

The lodge is beautiful designed, with luxurious cabins. The cabin is equipped with good comfy beds, indoor and outdoor showers and a deck overlooking the flood plains. Food is delicious. But the best part is the staff! All of them to their utmost to make your stay magnificent. Most of all Lesh, the hardest working, friendliest of all.

The wildlife is amazing, we saw so much game, even on the trip from the airstrip to the lodge we saw 3 out of the big five (Elephant, Lion and Leopard) and much more. This continued the next days. We did have an amazing guide, the famous GT (Gin & Tonic). He was very friendly and entertaining, and also a great wildlife spotter. He did his best to share his knowledge about nature and wildlife. A helicopter ride over the delta is a great way to see more of the water flooding into the delta.

Highly recommended if you want to visit the Okavango Delta!

Dear AlexAnnemiek Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience! We are thrilled to read that you had a fantastic time at Wilderness Kwetsani. Your kind words about the rooms, food, and staff, especially Lesh, is very appreciated and will be shared with the team. It is wonderful to hear you had such wonderful sightings and that, GT, enhanced your experience with his knowledge. During my recent visit to Kwetsani, I had a fantastic experience. The lodge's location within the Moremi Game Reserve allowed me to witness the stunning and diverse wildlife of the Okavango Delta. The lodge was like a hidden gem surrounded by breathtaking scenery in the heart of nature.

I was thoroughly impressed with the level of service provided by the staff, as well as the quality of the food and room accommodations. My stay at Kwetsani exceeded my expectations in every way, and I am already looking forward to returning in the future. I want to express my sincere gratitude to the entire team at Kwetsani for creating such a magical and memorable experience for me.

Kwetsani was everything we could have hoped for when visiting the Okavango Delta. The camp is extremely well maintained, the rooms are luxurious, the staff is lovely, and the setting is perfect. Our guide for 4 days was Gora and he was great. In the winter they put hot water bottles in the bed at night and gave us hot water bottles and blankets for the game drives. It made a huge difference. There was even WiFi in the room. The chefs had no problems catering to a vegetarian, and a very picky eater. The camp caters for couples, so it was great to have a quiet adult atmosphere and not have kids running around. Everything was included and at the end you could tip on credit card, so there was no need to stress over getting local cash. Overall Kwetsani is an excellent choice for your visit to the Okavango Delta.

The camp is beautifully elevated with views over vast flood plains and the interior of the rooms are extremely cosy. We had an outside bath in our honeymoon suite !
The staff went out of their way to please us in every way ! Thank you Bevan, Johanna and your magnificent team ! Chefs Bame and Tsepe really treated us to excellent cuisine and we especially loved the night with traditional food ! Our waiters Colin and Keba were always ready with our favourite drinks. Thank you also for all the wonderful surprises and highlights at dinner !!
As for gameviewing, we have visited many camps and areas in the Okavango Delta, and Jao Reserve stands out as one of the most beautiful and diverse areas yet. Guide Gora was excellent and found and tracked down just everything superbly. It was wonderful to spend time with the Lion pride of the area, as well as to find the Wilddog den and puppies. Jao Reserve has so much to offer, from boating to Hunda Island, traversing the beautiful flood plains with hundreds of Red Letchwe and just driving in the forest areas. The boat and Makoro gives one a chance of seeing hundreds of birds and we were fortunate that Gora spotted a Sititunga from the boat, our first in 25 years of visiting the Delta !! Thanks Gora !!!
WE shall most certainly return and stay longer. We suggest at least 3-4 nights to really appreciate the vast area !! Highly recommended !!

Amazing attention to detail was one hallmark of this stunning camp. The rooms were stellar in their design and incredibly comfortable and beautiful. The staff rose to the same level in both service and cuisine. When we noticed one of our safari duffels was tearing, Theo, one of the managers, took the bag and had it sewn up and returned by the evening. We were able to experience wonderful time in the Okavango Delta on boats. We also had a bush walk and game drives on Hunda Island. Gwen and Theo, the two managers, seemed to work effortlessly with their staff. They created the feeling that you were staying with family. The pride the staff took in their work was manifest in the care and warmth they extended to all guests.

Me and my family had a great time at Wilderness Kwetsani. Despite being that remote, there was a wide variety of food and all of it was delicious (I‘m out of shape now.) Our guide (Paul) was really experienced and could handle every kind of situation very well. He and the rest of the team were professionals which was noticeable but they also were very kind and had a great sense of humour. They didn‘t back off from any kind of difficulcy to ensure we had a great stay. Sadly we were only staying for three nights.

Kewsani was a nice place. The rooms are large and well decorated. The safari guide GT was knowledgeable. This was the 3rd Wilderness company camp we stayed in during our trip. The camp did not provide the same level of personalization as our other 2 camps. The other 2 camps would leave poems or trinkets on the beds when they turned them down for the night. Kwesani did not. The Savuti camp provided binoculars in the rooms, Kwesani did not. I would recommend bringing your binoculars. The view is fabulous but binoculars are needed to see the animals.

Dear Deborah Thank you for sharing your experience at our camp! We’re thrilled to hear that you found the camp amazing, despite the occasional nocturnal visits from elephants drawn to the Amarula trees. It’s truly a unique and awe-inspiring part of the bush experience. We appreciate your understanding regarding the game viewing. With the recent arrival of water, wildlife patterns can sometimes be unpredictable. However, we’re glad you enjoyed the boat cruise, which offers a different yet equally captivating perspective of the wildlife and scenery. Our guides are dedicated to providing the best possible experience, and we’re pleased to hear that yours went above and beyond to locate wildlife and make your trip memorable. Your feedback is invaluable, and we look forward to welcoming you back for another adventure. Warm Regards, Wilderness Destinations

Is your camp independently accessible for seniors who have limited mobility?
Answer from Wilderness
Johannesburg, South Africa211 contributions1 helpful vote
Hello MDR2011, Thank you for your question Ican tell you that we do have a couple of measures in place should you need help however we would need a bit more infor mation before we can confirm anything. Should you wish to discuss this in more detail we request you contact your travel agent who can assist you further. However, in regards to the distances the closest room to the main area is over 100 metre walk away. But I think the issue would come in with grab rails for the showers and loo and the angled entrance to the rooms with the gumpoles at the entrance. If they cannot climb the steps they can always come up the ramp back of house but obviously the distance is greater. If they could tell us the level of difficulty and what the guests are able to do would be easier to give a more detailed answer. questions like can they climb steps, can they climb into a game viewer with the help of a step, are they in a wheelchair. how far can they walk? Hope this helps Wilderness Safaris

how does Kwetsani compare with Tubu Tree Camp (going in December)
Answer from Wilderness
Johannesburg, South Africa211 contributions1 helpful vote
Thank you tijana165 for your question. While both camps are beautiful and we couldn’t personally choose one over the other – the real difference you will need to look at is what you are hoping to see while on safari. Kwetsani has a more luxurious and intimate camp experience being a ten bedded/ five tented camp with very large rooms, while Tubu is slightly bigger with eighteen beds/ eight tents including one family unit which is perfect if you are travelling with children. Additionally if you want a purely game experience then Tubu Tree (located on Hunda Island) would be the better option, but if the camp experience is also important then Kwetsani is perfect. Game drives are done from Kwetsani to Hunda, However, in December it will take longer for Kwetsani to drive across to Hunda - it can take approx. 45 minutes to reach Hunda using the bridge, but if the road over the bridge is not passable due to high water levels/muddy roads, then it can take up to an hour and a half. We hope this has been helpful, and please let us know if you have any more questions. Additionally, you can have a look at more of the specifics on the Wilderness Safaris website. Kind regards Wilderness Safaris

is use of hairdryer possible?
Answer from Martin K
Maun, Botswana27 contributions2 helpful votes
Hi Klfsesser, The use of hairdryers is unfortunately not possible in the guest rooms due to power constraints. The camp operates on a Generator / Inverter system as it is located in a remote part of the Okavango Delta with no access to the mains grid power system.
