Just returned from a 4-night stay with our kids ages 12 and 13. INCREDIBLE. This is what African Bush Camps is all about: somehow combining luxury accommodation, gourmet food, and attentive staff with thoughtful environmental and social responsibility. These last 2 items are increasingly important to us; the camp is entirely solar powered, uses zero plastic, and employs locals. They even have a guide training program for women. In our 3 family safari trips to Africa, this is our first time seeing this! Mimi, our host, was awesome. She made the whole experience run smoothly and provided us a real sense of family. Two of us have celiac disease and they accommodated our gluten free diet perfectly. Handmade breads, pancakes, and desserts all gluten free! Finally, the wildlife. Our guide, Chief, was so great to spend hours with in the bush. He's a true expert. Coming in, our expectations were modest, as this is still the green season when wildlife mostly hides in the thick bushes. That said, we saw a ton: elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffalo, crocs, a couple genets (first time seeing these!), bush babies, many species of antelope, baboons, warthogs, and much more. Even got charged by a hippo! Best of all: a baby lion cub that was seeing humans (us) for the first time! Several other lion too. Also, we are getting into birdwatching and logged 77 new species! Birders know this is an impressive number for only 3 days. Highly recommend the Mokoro ride. One of the few places in the world to do this. Thank you African Bush Camps for an unforgettable family vacation in the Okavango Delta.

We spent two wonderful nights at this camp before moving down the road to their new Leadwood camp. This is an older camp but well maintained and in perfect shape! The setting is great as you look out onto the open delta and game roams around constantly. Waking up to the sound of hippos in the morning is a real treat. The chalets are small but quite nice with a king size bed. We had number 3 which worked out well as we got WiFi in the room. Otherwise you have to sit at a small structure for WiFi. Our host was Nico and he made sure everything was perfect including the meals. Our guide was Aubrey and a real professional, very friendly and informative. He gave us a tour of the nearby village which was quite interesting. There is a concession there full of game and incredible birds but the drives into the Moremi Game Reserve were spectacular where we saw and followed a leopard right by the entrance. Game can roam freely between the two. We saw just about everything except Rhinos which are tough to view in Botswana. We’d love to go back.

Our family had an absolutely incredible time - the wildlife was extraordinary, the food delicious, and most of all the hospitality was incredible. Our host - Katdee - went out of his way to make sure we felt comfortable and welcomed. I enjoyed talking with him and just being in his presence. Our guide, DT, couldn't get enough of the bush - he was as thrilled as we were with every wildlife spotting. Sandra and our chef provided outstanding service. I was so sad to leave. Go and enjoy the magic! Jill

This place is a gem. Waking up you have a view from your bed of the antelope munching on their breakfast. The game drives are eexpertly guided and, if you have Ken, you will also enjoy his comedy along the way. Ask for his “African massage” as the roads are certainly bumpy enough to act as such. The food is outstanding. Every request is anticipated. The staff are all extremely friendly and will really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Truly an excellent experience. I think the US hospitality management folks need to take a lesson from Botswana.

We are just finishing up our 3 night stay here, and nothing but rave reviews for everyone and everything associated with this lovely camp. From the moment we arrived, Nico, Sandra, Peggy, Albert, Tayo, Chefs DK and Patricia, and all the housekeeping and support staff were outstanding and made us feel so at home. Our guide, Joe, was perfect in every way and together we shared high adventure game drives and sundown drinks. Accommodations were well thought out and super comfortable and the food was excellent. Thank you to beautiful Botswana and to everyone for helping us make such wonderful memories!
