Great camp on the river. Located within the Moremi reserve so no off roading, no night drives and lots of company when looking at the animals. But what a fabulous place and outstanding staff. Tents are spacious and well apportioned with indoor and outdoor shower (nice to cool off in the shower mid afternoon before tea time). Great food served family style. Can't go wrong here.

This lodge and its staff is truly a gem. Highly recommend a stay here. The location right on the river, individual well-appointed, comfortable suites and the beautiful lodge amenities make you feel right at home. The entire staff was warm, welcoming and willing to go the extra mile to ensure you have a wonderful time. The chef prepared excellent meals and happily accommodated dietary needs. Our guide, Bonno, was exceptional and his passion for the park, wildlife and culture made our game drives and sundowner cruise unforgettable. He was fantastic at positioning us for optimal sightings and photos. Don’t book anywhere else!

We had a wonderful stay at Okuti. The flight in and out is a great way to see animals from the sky in the local bush plane. Our guide was Carlos who is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. He knows details about flora as well as all the animals, including the incredible birds (from someone who did not used to be a birder—the fowl in Botswana are fascinating and ever so varied, from ostrich to lilac breasted rollers.) We saw a lot of lions and several leopards and got a chance to really watch the big cats. The roads are enough to realign the spine, but Carlos was an excellent driver and kept us safe.
Because it is a National park, we needed to be back at camp by 6:30, and there were no night drives or bush walks. The hot water bottles were definitely appreciated in the cool early morning hours.
The staff at the camp were warm and fun and entertained us nightly with music. I would recommend some lighting to be on them while they sing and dance. The meals were delicious, particularly the local dishes, and the self-service from passed plates was perfect to avoid wasting.
The rooms were very comfortable and we really liked the outdoor showers. The yoga mats and weights in the room were a nice touch.
We enjoyed the boat ride and saw many elephants dining in water Lilly roots. The Okavango experience was really beautiful, seeing the sun set over the intricate life-filled delta.

Booked through our travel agent (who proved they knew what they were doing by sending us here).
Went with wife and two teenage daughters throughout Botswana and finished here.

Needs three nights (two just not quite enough and four might be just a smidge too long) but this section of the park is like a zoo such is the diversity and accessibility to wildlife. Saw 4 of the big 5 in half an hour (plus some of the rarer stuff).

Staff very friendly, keen to impress their guests. Their joyful singing on arrival and dinner time is infectious. Food was pretty fantastic for the remoteness of the site and the open bar was well stocked.

Our guide Bonno was amazing; knew the park well, had great contacts with other guides on the CB radio to quickly find the action - “there’s a family of hyenas up north or some African wild dogs got spotted in the east or pride of lions on the hunt, what do you want to see?” Daughter told Bonno she wanted to see a baby hippo - done.

Thanks for a wonderful end to our Botswana experience, hope to see you again soon !

Ps - give our regards to Oscar 😉

What a place this is. This was our first experience of an African lodge and safari’s, our hopes and expectations were high but the way the staff welcomed us with their friendly hospitality and knowledge of not only the animals we saw but their passion for their local community and sustainability generally surpassed our expectations, superb.
The safaris whether by vehicle or boat were always informative and enjoyable.
Being sung into dinner was a really nice touch and having dinner with your fellow travellers and the lodge staff was great, made our visit special.

The Okuti Camp is a gem, a delight, located at one of the countless riverarms of the Okavango. Build in a very sustainable way, it however offers all amenities for your perfect safari.
The staff is great and super friendly. We also appreciated, that you'd have breakfast and dinner with your guide and after dinner there was time to sit around the fire place and chat with the staff - it was great to learn from local people so mich about Botswana and life in the country.
Food was excellent and offered also the chance to taste some local specialties.
Rooms were spectacular - high ceilings, view on the river and equipped with allamenities you wish.
Our guide, Oni, was great, with a good sense of humor and knew all the spots, both on land and water (you must do the river safari - one of a kind).

This was our last of six camps, and the second of two Ker & Downey in the Delta. We enjoyed Okuti more than the prior Ker & Downey camp. It started much warmer with the staff and our guide Sue greeting us with a welcome song! We were always walked out to our game drive, and welcomed back. There is even a “Time for Dinner” song to which we jumped in and danced with the staff. The rooms and common areas are very nice and spacious, with a lovely view of the lagoon. I liked the option of an indoor or outdoor shower. The photos on the camp’s web site are accurate. Not only did the staff take very good care of us but they were engaging at pre-dinner camp fires. The menu was interesting, varied and well prepared. I learned that the camps in the Delta can’t get deliveries as often as other camps, so I was really impressed with the marvelous dishes prepared with the ingredients they had! The staff went out of their way for what was not only our final dinner in camp, but final dinner on safari as they set up a private table for us by the pool and decorated the area with plants, crafts and candles. Sue is a very knowledgeable guide and can answer any question you ask about the animals, plants and landscape. He is quite engaging, always quick with a smile, and can really find the animals. This is the only place in three weeks where we saw painted wolves! We also opted for a boat cruise where we continued to see many animals. I accused Sue of placing an elephant in the lagoon eating grasses right at sunset so I could get a perfect sunset picture! I also liked the fact that local crafts were available for purchase. Okuti camp was a wonderful last stop.

We (family with 2 kids) started our Africa trip with 4 nights at Okuti. We enjoyed every minute of our stay there. The team ist just wonderful! We loved to be seated at one long table with the other guests for lunches and dinners and sitting together around the fireplace for an Apero. Our guide, Sedic, did an awesome job and you could feel that he loves his job and the animals. The boat trip on the Okavango is unforgettable. We can highly recommend Okuti

We travelled for 3 weeks in Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa and Okuti was our favourite lodge of everywhere! Honestly couldn’t fault a thing from the pick up at the airport by the amazing guide Bonno, to the welcome at the lodge, to the quality of the accommodation, food, incredible service from Bonno, Gee and absolutely everyone, and magical game drives/boat trips. This was our intro to Botswana, its people, culture and abundant wildlife, and will remain our lasting memory which makes us yearn to go back!

We enjoyed our stay and hospitality so much. The team was so nice to us and Monika prepared best food and variety. Our 2nd evening with private dinner by the pool was fantastic. Boat and jeep game drives were very good with sundowner or breakfast close to the animals. We reached by our rented 4x4 from Khwai and left to Maun, roads were no problem in October. We would love to come back !

Is there wifi?
Answer from James C
Good day, We do have Wi-Fi in Okuti. Please note that it's bush Wi-Fi - however we are constantly looking for ways to improve it.

Are there mokoro experiences and night game drives? Are there any astronomy presentations under the stars??
Maun, Botswana67 contributions
Okuti is the only 5* camp within the Moremi Game Reserve so night drives and mokoro activities are not permitted in this area. To experience these activities we recommend a combined itinerary including Shinde or Kanana, both land and water based camps in their own private concessions. Just ask the guides and they will happily explain the magical night sky.
Maun, Botswana67 contributions
Depending on your interests would determine the best time of year to visit. Okuti is accessible by 4 wheel drive (self drive), but most of our guests arrive by plane. We book this for you. We do have other properties and can put itineraries together for you.
