Made reservations at the Villa Nova Motel in Wasaga Beach for September 26, 2021 and requested the nicest room they had facing the beach. When I arrived, they put me in a room facing the breezeway and other rooms which smelled old & moldy, not to mention in dire need of updating. This was off season so they had plenty of rooms to pick from.

To add insult to injury, I quickly learned that they also rent room to low-income people as apartments. One of the occupant's living across the breezeway from me would come out of his room every half-hour to smoke weed and coughed his lungs out all night. Did I also mentioned that I could not get the TV to work? Not impressed! (See photos of what they consider their "Best Rooms".)

Definitely not worth the $148.35 I was charged and would not recommend this Motel/Low Income Apartment.

Very warm welcome from the owners on arrival. Room was dated but very clean and comfortable. Weather was rainy at times but covered patio outside our room made for a great meet and greet place for all staying there😊 Great pool with lounge area as well as bbq's available! I would definitely stay here again.

First of all where is the pool? We were there 3 days. No pool on site. We paid to use it.Rooms are dirty. A/ C doesnt work properly. Not even plastic cups in your room. You have to beg for things from housekeeping staff whenever u see them occasionally. Had to clean our own room. I wont waste 420 here qgain. To qdd insult to injury on the day we left i asked Nina if we could leave our fully packed car for 2 hours while went ta have brunch. She told me it would be an additional day charge if we werent back by noon. We had already vacated the room. Not good

Hard to justify the price considering quality of room and level of service.

I booked 3 nights.
I show up to check in at 11pm and was told my room was mistakenly given away but I'd be put in an 'upgraded' room. The room they gave me looked gross and smelled like vomit and the AC was broken. They move me to my original room the next day but keep ignoring me when I ask about compensation for the first night.
The next day, I see a commotion outside the puke room as the next guests make the discovery. It turns out, it was the condensation from the broken AC causing a rot that was creating the vomit smell that was stuck to my clothes and I was breathing in all night.

Again, refused to compensate even a percentage of my first night (~200CAD) basically saying it was my fault I didn't tell them the night of since they would've moved me to another room.

First, it's their fault that Tony mistakenly gave my original room to someone else.
Second, it's their fault they didn't make sure there were no issues with a room before they gave it out to a customer. I mean you could smell it from outside the room with the door closed.

They finally offered me a $20 discount if I book directly - which is less than the fee they would have saved if I didn't book through booking.com. Sounded like a discount anybody could get so that was insulting.

Tony kept going on about how he's been in business for 53 years... like, we can tell, your motel is gross and not well maintained. Being in business for 53 years is not a testament to the quality of your establishment.

Do not prepay for a stay here! Due to an injury I had to cancel my reservation over a week in advance. I was told I would receive a refund after the check in date, and when I called them after the check in date they refused to issue the refund. They lied to me knowing that not only could they get my money, but also re-book the room for someone else. Had I known I could have given away the room to friends or family instead of wasting $450 here.

Clean room bed was comfortable but they couldn't even put a glass in the room and the wifi was terrible. It was⁰ ok for a short 1 night stay. Not sure I would want to stay here for an extended beach vacation. I wouldn't recommend it for a vacation trip.

My boyfriend and I have recently stayed 4 nights at Vila Nova, owned by a lovely couple (Nina and Tony). The motel has a very nice and clean swimming pool and the location is amazing. You just need to cross the street to arrive to the beach! We stayed in a nice and clean room with AC! Great experience.
Tony makes one of the best latte’s I have ever had. I would definitely return to Vila Nova!

I am terribly dissatisfied with the quality and service provided by the hotel operator that boasts his property as a resort.

We spent much time searching for a hotel which our family could spend one week together. We found Villa Nova, Mosley Road, Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Canada on the internet and thought that it looked like clean respectable hotel. We could have not been more wrong.

We check in to our first location (a house) to find screens missing, bugs live and dead throughout, dirty linens, wet carpets, and one small window air conditioner that did not work. We were horrified to think this is where we had to sleep. We had already paid a 303.84 deposit and were told we could not receive a refund and that we could not get our money back. He did move us to another location (a motel room) which also had dead bugs, dirty linen and towels as well as black mold in the shower unit. It at least was secured with window screens and the floor was not wet carpet, it was dirty tile, so we agreed since we could not get our money back to stay. We ended up staying 2 nights until we found that we could legally leave and that we only had to pay for the nights that we stayed. We decided to then find another location and did.

This man was very dishonest and you should not do business with him. He charged us for 2 units the first night when we only used 1 unit. The second night my sister in law and her family were already planning on visiting us and we told them that we had to stay because he would not refund our money so we stayed 1 more night with the additional unit the second night. Then we spoke with the chamber of commerce in wasaga that explained the rules that we could leave and pay only for the nights we stayed.

Because of all the issues and his dishonesty and misleading us into thinking we could not get our money back we believe that we should not have to pay anything I am enclosing pictures of the deplorable conditions. It was a terrible vacation that our family was so looking forward to. This man also has a handwritten sign in the front where you pay that reads NO REFUNDS, NO MONEY BACK, DONT EVEN ASK!

We were looking for a nice hotel in Wasaga beach and found this hotel on the net. Upon arriving the guy had us pay in advance for our three nights, about 460$. We should have looked at the room first!!! Dust everywhere, bugs in bed sheets, light bulbs not working, and no service at all. We left on the first morning with no refund (even for the two nights remaining). If you ever go there (in that case you're probably insane if you have read this review...), look at the sign at the desk that says "no refund, please don't ask"! I travelled a lot and let me tell you this is the worst place you can imagine to stay at.
