The room was clean and neat. The bathroom had towels, soap, shampoo. The room had a microwave and a mini fridge which were very useful. The room also had a TV but didn't appear to have cable so we didn't get any channels. In any case the kids just watched the movies we brought for their DVD player.
The breakfast was honeybuns (individually packaged) and juice boxes. There was also coffee and tea. The pool was awesome. It was heated and we felt like it was our own private pool. The kids were allowed to bring in their inflatable boats. The hotel was not busy during the week so it was quiet and nice with a few other families with kids. Beside the pool there is a very nice and clean little playground for the kids. There are several picnic tables and BBQs which is where we made our dinner. They supply the lighter, propane and tongs for the BBQ.
Some obnoxious people decided to light fireworks at about 2am in the empty field behind the motel. This woke us up as they were hooting and hollering as well.... but it's Wasaga Beach so this type of thing didn't surprise us. The beds were 2 doubles and with kids who squirm and kick you all night long queen size would have been better.
The room had air conditioning but we didn't use it. To turn it on/off it appears you have to plug it in or unplug it. We just used the ceiling fan and that was good enough for us.
The room was clean with no bugs except if you left food out and then a few ants would come and swarm. Just make sure all your food is in tight containers, in your car or in the fridge. We made sure to toss all our food garbage in the outdoor garbage cans.
We will likely stay here again next year. The pool is a real bonus feature with kids who can't seem to get enough swimming done in a day. I also like motels because you can drive your car right up to your front door so if you have a ton of crap you can go in and out of your car easily to get it.
we stayed full 2days enjoying great salt-water pool
large great playground for kids also will keep them busy
grounds are very clean as well as the rooms
great location with walking distance to major attraction
So grossed out and when I went to tell them I wasn’t going to stay as the room was not up to standards nor did it look like the sheets were changed. The owner would only give me my money back if I paid a $25 cleaning fee for entering the room!! Paid it and ran out of there, to a hotel in Barrie. Can only see someone wanting to stay if they drank themselves to sleep to avoid seeing the room and conditions they were staying in.
The rooms were tiny...about the size of my bedroom at home. The decor was from my grandmothers basement. Aside from the stains on the carpet, it was clean. The TV was 19 inch. The furniture was garage sale specials, The one picture on the wall was stained so yellow, that you could not make out what it was. The A/C was a noisy window unit, with all the control buttons removed. The motel is located across from a very busy campgroud with lots of noise, music and fire works any night of the week. The internet was non-existent, unless you wanted to sit outside to use your laptop. The shower was a tin stall, which flooded the bathroom everytime you used it. The motel is in desperate need of refurbishing to bring it into the 21st century...it also needs to be honest about its walk to the beach...a good 15 minutes, and its lack of a continental breakfast...THERE IS NOT CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST. This motel is not cheap...I could not believe what we were paying so highly for...made me sick to think of it.
Please email me if you have any questions.
Thanks a lot to the owners for excellent time we had.
We'll be definetely back.
